    I’m impressive Joanie (Erin Moran) actually did quite well in her dancing routine. I don’t remember this episode, but I’m surprising Joanie could dance like that.

    • @marcstevens8576
      @marcstevens8576 5 месяцев назад +3

      This was a good one, as Joanie "ran away to join the band". Suzi slipped a quick one in about knowing about Runaways, as she'd been with them for three years. She was actually talking about her opening act while she was on tour at the time.

    Suzi Quatro is huge in the UK & has several #1 hits there. This song was supposed to break her in the US, but it never even got on the Billboard chart, even though it went to #1 in the UK.

    • @MikeCee7
      @MikeCee7 Год назад +2

      That’s an interesting fact. There’s apparently a big difference between the UK and American taste in music. For that to be #1, in England is surprising to me. Yet also somewhat surprising it didn’t even make the top 40 here in America. Suzi must be the American version of Kylie Minogue, who is tremendously popular, and all the other English speaking countries, except for North America.

    • @reneenordeen9447
      @reneenordeen9447 2 месяца назад

      She did pretty well with Stumblin In, that one was pretty popular, in the 70s, in the USA. It's still one of my favorites.

    • @musikus7092
      @musikus7092 Месяц назад

      Yes, big difference.
      Modern music came from England and oldschool music from America.
      Suzi was a big star in several European countries.
      In Germany she was more successful than in the UK!@@MikeCee7

      This was still late 1978-early 1979, so not quite '80s hairstyles. But I do think the attention to period detail had begun to slip & a modern look was creeping in.
      The episode was after the shark had literally been jumped in the Hollywood-set season premiere, but the show still ran 6 more seasons afterwards. Clearly, some people were still watching regardless.

NO woman in 50's entertainment looked like this-even the most edgy(Maybe she'd look more like a beatnik?). Further still, she is dressed with a sort of nod to a late 60's/70's Elvis costume, who wasn't wearing those one piece suits with rhinestones until years later. This is why, yet again, television fails-lol. :)

      Yes...maybe a little potential...Suzi Quatro and her sisters only invented all female punk rock genre in 1965 with The Pleasure Seekers and Cradle with their song What a Way To Die. There's slight potential to start an entire musical genre...The Runaways, The Slits, The GoGo's, Bikini Kill, etc would not exist without her. I would agreement Suzi Quatro had the potential to change music history.

    Ah, Leather Tuscadero. The only gal who ever had a hope of tying The Fonz down... except, y'know, she had places to be and music to play. Who can blame him though, eh?

    It’s true, everyone in 1950s America spoke Italian.

    Looks like this is from the 1970's,… not the 1950's to early 60's.

    So who was playing bass while she danced? And where was the microphone? Just wondering.

      It's Playback in film. They do it sometimes. The music comes from a recorder and the musicians only play singing or playing instruments. Now do you know why and you can again sleep at night.

    It gave Leather Tuscadero a lot of happiness to find out, at approximately 2:14, that the Fonz really appreciate her singing abilities.

    Suzi is so amazing! Someone asked why she was not popular in the states as much as United Kingdom. You think Happy Days could have been the cause of that? I love her but always thought this show was so cornball. But Suzi is SO NOT cornball. She was great!

    I think that this point the 1950s and 1970s line broke.

    This version was lame but then I realized they took a 1970s song and tried to make it sound 50s.
