    Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! I have been trying to find a good video for these flares for my 2009 F150 and none of them are as good as yours. I am so glad you made this video. I have tried to understand the horrible instructions that came with the flares to no avail. You are a Godsend! I will see if I can get mine on now.

    First , thanks for this video Rick! (Solution For Flares not sitting tight against the Truck fender )
    I installed these on a 2013 Ford F-150 4X4. The back flares went on nice and tight as others have mentioned. The front passenger side was not holding tight against the body. There was a 1/4" gap in the middle section of the flare. Pretty much the same problem you were having. Before I tried to fix it in some way I installed the drivers side and found the solution. The inner plastic brace has to be mounted as far in as possible. Once you get those three screws barely screwed in you need to push the wheel well back so the clips you are screwing into are at the inside edge of the mounting holes in the fender. Those holes are big. Once you tighten the screw it will stay there. Once you do that for all three screws, you have moved the inner brace about 1/4" further in than if you just put the screws into the hole. The clips seem to sit at the outside edge of the mounting hole in the fender without pushing on them. The drivers side flare came out perfect. Tight against the fender. I went back and did the same thing on the passenger side and the 1/4" gap was gone and it fit tight against the fender. With them fitting tight the rubber molding stays in place. I used the plastic molding tool to get them all straight and they have stayed in position. One last thing I used inner brace 6 on the Driver side and 5 on the Passenger side. They don't mention that in the instructions.

    Never been a fan of those really big flares with the rivets/fake rivets. I prefer the raptor style ones. But hey, whatever floats your boat. Truck looks good, love the grill and the whole thing will look great with bigger tires.

    Thanks, Rick. Very helpful. I just got those same fender flames for my 2010 F150 and will this really help with the install process- Cheers!

      Just finished my install of the same kit. Same results. Three fit great but the left front was a little loose up top. I have to say I broke most of the tab insert plastic screws for the front and replaced them with slightly thicker sheetmetal screws and that fixed that issue. Your tutorial saved me a ton of time with those odd interior front fender pieces. The instructions that came with it were horrible and pics were very dark, so you were a life saver.

      did the FL stick to the fender by itself after a month?

    • @UBRLND-X
      @UBRLND-X 4 года назад +1

      @@RickStuff for the most part. Small gap but livable. I think it was a good idea installing them in a warm month and the heat generated by the truck’s black paint likely also helped heat up the plastic a bit.

    Did the fender flares ever fit correctly after a couple of weeks or did you use the heat gun, have the same issue on one of my fender flares?

    • @RickStuff
      @RickStuff  4 года назад

      They fit well yes. I am about to do another video on my F150 since I just bought a Brand new set of wheel 18"x 9" with a offset -12 with a set of BF Goodritch K02 35" x 12.50 RT 18.
      I will install all of it next week so I should publish a video by the end of June.

    You installed the trimming on the flares wrong that’s why the rubber won’t form because the double sided tape is suppose to be on the outside of the flare not the inside

    • @RickStuff
      @RickStuff  3 года назад +1

      There was no double side tape on the robber trim that came with my fender flare kit.
      After 2 weeks the trim and the flares was peffectly on the truck.
