1/5 Kraton 100 Mph 2x in a ROW? XLX2 & 1100KV motor!

- 100+ mph TWO times in a row. By far the best motor/ ESC combo I have ever ran in my 1/5 Kraton. BEAST! insanely efficient easily able to pass 100 mph in the 33lb truck. I certainly commend Castle Creations for their hard work, it certainly pays off!

Nice. I'm running this system for bashing with 35/47 gearing and my Outcast 8s is a BEAST. I've only ran it once but it ran fine. The system ran cool but it was only 55 degrees Fahrenheit that day.

@@Deek1818 somewhere around 15 minutes tops. 5500mAh Hobbyking 140C 4s turnigy rapids. Great batteries for the price. XT150 connectors. Way better than XT90.

Now that the Max 4 is out, I'd like to see how far you can push that ESC on 12S with the castle 800kv motor. See if you can get close to what the XLX2 is capable of.

Thanks on that you'll love the combo. Pinion is anything over 40. But you need to significantly drop your spur gear

That's impressive! So for bashing the 1100kv motor will be better than the 800kv but would the XL2 be the way to go or the MMX8S 🤔 Castle isn't advertising the MMX8S with the 1100kv only the 800kv
The MMX8S will hold its own. The XLX2 will just last all day long. Mmx8s is a 1/6 esc. The XLX2 is a 1/5 scale esc so xlx2 is designed to last far longer than mmx8s

Great Vid's. Above 100 MPH aerodynamics become a real issue. Tyres will become a problem past 120 MPH. Good luck :)
Yes sir you are more than correct. This vehicle is a big challenge to get over 106 mph
@@InnovationRC Is the idea to keep the general dynamics of the 1/5 and just extreme it? Difficult to do given the general height. Basically to go faster you are pushing a brick with next to no aerodynamic assistance past the speed where you get a reasonable return on investment, so to speak! Good luck. To go faster I think you will need to lower the ground clearance and place the tyres within some form of aerodynamic assistance. Open wheel is tough. Wishing you all the best and I'm going to keep myself posted on what's going on :)

I was wondering if you could help me out with. I have a 1/5 buggy, Carson dirt attack brushless, what combo do you advise for speed runs on that kind of size and weight? Your XLX2 / 2028 1100KV seems to handle the juggernaut pretty well...
Any advice? The buggy weighs around 8 kg.

Around 8kg I'd totally go 1100kv. Keep your eye on temps and it'll certainly be FAST!
Your still running 16 cells how much does this whole rig weigh. ? 30 lbs? I love your content!!! I have my felony that I baby but I want to get the Kraton EXB,, the 800kv motor might be kinda impractical with all the added batteries to get it to do what an 800 kv has to offer so I’m guessing the 1100kv is the way to go… I can keep it 8s OR 8 cells same thing but depends how you wire them…. HOW WOULD YOU WIRE 8 cells on a 1/5 Kraton with 1100kv motor and esc combo? Castle vs hobby wing? Can both combos handle the same wiring configuration to get the most out of 8 cells?

I have a legit question and I respect everyone's own use of how they use their own RC, but please inform me what is the purpose of taking a RC that is made for bashing and turn it into a speed run vehicle? All due respect just trying to understand, heck if I get a good explanation I might try it.
A vehicle's purpose, prebuilt from the factory, gets full over time when everyone does the same purpose. Vehicle is amazing out of the box don't get me wrong. I like to go fast. I wanted to see if this vehicle is "capable" of speeds. Appearently it is.
To achieve (only) 100 mph is a challenge. To a 1/8 speed car that's a warm up at half throttle.
This definitely changes things up and hits another end of satisfactory. To see a limitless do 100 mph is officially boring at this point, because it's made to do that.

Two things where did you get those tires from I got an Audi A8 I want to try some things with and those will go so good in the second thing I would love to know your secret location it look like some good road I could get some good numbers on
I believe the Audi a8 takes 255 45 r19
The tires in the Kraton on the other hand are Banana slick foams from Rick Seffrood on Facebook. Tell him I sent ya.

hey whats up, just got my 1100kv motor, i have a 34t spur installed an I have a 45t, 39t, 42t, & 34t pinion.. which pinion would be the ideal setup to reach 75+mph on-road with perfect temps?
Is go 34 pinion and stock spur for 75 mph on 8s

I was trying to follow your description of the battery setup with the series / parallel configuration. To end up at 8S AND 12000mAH are those 4 - 4S packs? Each pair in parallel then both sets in series?
How is that temp real!!? Lol. So I have that exact set up as far as the truck no foams tho I have your cnhl 10,000 4s 100c lipos on 36/27 gearing and all I get is 67mph. What gearing do I need to get close to 80? I have belted mashers for tires as well and the esc is tuned for punch and timing.... what gearing is that??

I have the mamba monster x8s and 2028 800kv just got them for my kraton 8s i am waiting on my 44t pinion. Is that esc gonna be to small for that motor?
You'll be fine if it's with the 800kv. 1100kv and mmx8s at direct drive may be a bit much
What if I only want it to go about 65mph? Would this motor and esc combo be fine for the 8s Kraton and if so, what size pinion and spur would i need?

Around 330a. Regardless of running parallel the motor will only draw as much as it can push. So parallel made no difference. Did 106 on single 8s

Hi I have a infraction v2 i was driving it yesterday an i lost control's on it i got the throttle to come back for a minute then it stopped no steering what would make this happen
Not sure it is hard to say. Maybe the esc needs a recalibration. Or the remote and receiver is bad

He said "series and parallel", two batteries on the left running in parallel doubling the mAh on the left, two batteries on the right running in parallel doubling the mAh on the right. The high capacity left and a high capacity right are then connected in series doubling the volts. (2 4S 14.8v 6000mAh batteries run in parallel = 1 4S 14.8v 12000mAh battery on each side of the truck, connecting both sides in series will = 1 8S 29.8v 12000 mAh battery)
