Great video! I currently have the 800kv castle setup and been following your videos. Just ordered the 1100kv castle now instead for my Kraton 8s so I can build it like yours! Really helped guide my setup. Thank you!!!!
That's just a Beast! The wheelies are great. I really like the look of those tires (with the sand in them) on it. Slo-mo was MINT! Great video, Great Job!
Beast mode!! The Kraton looks very happy with that setup. I am still patiently waiting for Castle to ship out the XLX2 ESC I ordered. Thanks for sharing the footage!
Love your videos - keep on having fun with that :-) So awesome and inspiring to watch. I have an XMAXX 8S (1275 KV motor) and a MAXX 4S (2400 KV motor). Next buy will be a Kraton ?S for sure!!! So many with tons of knowledge here, so I just figured I wanted to through this out here, and just looking for some experience among the crowd. My XMAXX runs great - huge truck and fast - love the vacuum it creates while accelerating - even on stock gearing (18/54 stock). Plain stock, bought 2 months ago. My MAXX , bought 3 months ago - keeps shredding pinion and spur gears - I only had 1 full run draining the battery - all other runs ended prematurely with shredded gears (24/50 stock) in a few minutes. Pin system is fool proof, so no worries - setting is correct. I upgraded to steel spur gear, wide body, steel axels including splined wheel hubs and nuts, a couple of upgraded sets of wheels & tires - however even after spending more - I am still not at the spot where the MAXX makes me happy. It keeps shredding pinion and/or spur gear. I ordered shed loads of hardened steel gears for both trucks now from all over the globe and haven’t tried them out yet - still on the way. I bought smaller pinion traxxas gears (22T and 20T) for the MAXX trying to increase torque at the wheels - but create less stress on motor and gearing. It keeps shredding the gears. I bought everything from 15T to 26T pinions and 46-54T spurs - machined and hardened steel - pinion gears and spur gears for the XMAXX to play with torque versus top speed - waiting to see how that goes. However - did I completely miss the point: is it just a matter of buying a motor with less KV (less RPM), install suitable (big enough) ESC that can distribute the power consumed by the motor and cooling fans - and then adding suitable amount of teeth (going double) to the pinion gear - and pretty much still use somewhat around stock spur gear, or even go wild and decrease number of teeth on spur gear? Thank you in advance. Just trying to decipher the code. //Alex
lot to this one lol My Maxx is fun but its simply not an xmaxx, I only killed the stock plastic spur but not the 46t xmaxx spur I put in. With the bigger motors we usually get the potential for better durability, lower temps and insane amounts of raw torque. The larger motors have lower KV but the torque is insane and the power output will make you smile ear to ear. The big power systems aren't cheap, the Hobbywing Max5/800 isn't too high and runs really good. Anyone who s wanting to push the limits with an xmaxx, usually run a big motor of whatever brand they like best. Hope that helps
Awesome! I love your content bud! I'm a build video guy! I miss the 90s with powerblock every Saturday on speed vision. I appreciate what u do it really helps people (ME) make informed purchases and therefore save money 👊🏼
Ordered my first piece of Vitavon for the Maxx. Only company I could find that makes an aluminum servo horn for it, that will fit non traxxas servos. Now I wait.. haha.
hi, will you be able to doa video of this same setup but on 1:1 gering to see how it performs? like speed temps jumps offroad air control etc.? thanks a lot man, looking forward to all your videos!
Wait? The new bigger esc and higher kv motor couldn't take the same setup you had on the smaller esc? Looks like such a sweet place to run. I'm in Montana there is no sand.
Hahaha! Love it!! Dude every time you started to laugh I couldn’t help but laugh myself 🤣🤣🤣 that’s great some pure fun. But that SLO-MO was super nice.

Sick!!! Your custom kraton is pretty bad to the bone brother!👍 speaking of wheelies just put up unboxing of the 2020 Rovan 45cc Baja 5B, in my 1/5 world its the biggest baddest baja you can buy with stock power to rip wheelies on command at just about any speed at a good price point!😁👍 Bash on my man! Wholly COW! The beast has been awakened. That was one rad run and the slow-mos are killer. Newbie question: does the XLX2 have to run with a Castle motor, meaning can it run with a sensor or sensor less motor? I think I'm a little intimated by getting to technical on the computer Orrrr....what's out there that comes close to the XLX2 to put into my Losi DBXL-E 2.0?
Great video as normal!! Have you ordered the RPM arms for it yet?? Just got mine seem great 👍 only fronts as UK we can't get the rears until late December
Yeah I did the same didnt take long to get through mine skateparks make light work of breaking them would you say the xlx2 is a sure choice for a upgrade

Xlx2 is kind of an oddball right now. Great potential but I just haven’t seen it personally yet.
Yeah its that balance between a good esc and a good esc that can handle bashing I suppose time will tell cheers 👍
Great video. Thanks.
Two questions for you.
1. Are you using the stock spur gear in this video?
2. Where is the wheelie bar from? Outcast?
I was wondering what spur also, I saw below that he replied and said it was the stock 47T spur.
I think by now you’ve used the 1100 KV and 800 KV motors, which one do you prefer and why?
I actually like the 1100kv with a smaller pinion best.
@@ExocagedRC thanks buddy
Was that with the stock 47 tooth spur?
I'd like to get that system for the xmaxx great video
its in mine now and I hope to get the video recorded tomorrow
Do you need to buy a different motor mount to fit this motor or will the included one work?
I think you do need to buy a different motor mount cause I have a 27t pinion in mines and that’s the most I can go up
I have seen all your Castle Motors so far...I want to put it in. XMaxx
Would you say that the 1100kv gives the most Well Rounded Top Speed to Bottem Torque Ratio ?
Not sure, I just got mine mounted up today and hope to get the drive in tomorrow, I'll be running a 40t pinion with the 54t spur
You have earplugs in the center. What are you running in the front and rear for fluid.
I think the axle diffs are stock, I don't remember opening them up for anything.
I want to see how this setup runs in the DBXLE 2.0, think you can make that happen?
I wouldn't want an 1100kV in something that large.
I will but like Rustler08 said, I think the 800kv would be the better choice for that.
What gearing are you running? I just bought the same setup but not sure how to gear it for just bashing
I've been hearing of ppl saying the 800kv is slow on these. Are you happy with the 1100kv xlx2 setup so far?
800 is a bit slow yeah, 1100 is much better IMO
what else you need if using the crusher kraton chassis? you transferred all the parts except what? dog bones and what? thank you
Would you recommend this in the xmaxx and what gearing would you recommend.
I’ll be running it in mine today and I’m planning on running a 40t pinion and a 54t Spur. Let’s see how that runs.
Any issues running the XT90 plugs with the xlx2? I know castle says not to run them or the EC5’s.
What size spur you running
stock 47t
Which spur were you running?
Why’s the sound so rough. Is it your mic or is the mesh on the side of tight.
