I just bought a granite 3s v3 4x4 blx and I just put some gorilla tape under the body and it is working fine for me. Great video bro. Keep up the good work.
I’m getting pumped watching this! My red/white Granite 3S BLX will arrive Wed and I’m so excited about it, my first hobby grade RC. I walked into the LHS to look at a Traxxas Stampede and they sold me on the Arrma on it being more durable as well as looking much nicer. I ran into a long time friend at the shop that day and he’s going to give me a class on the do and don’t of LiPo batteries and how to use them. I’m from Flat Rock, MI…Home of the Ford Mustang! They build them down the street from my house.
Thanks, I did have to drive to get to that ice pond becuase it was in new Hampshire and I live in conectucut there is not enough ice for that here. It drifts realy good. But were I live when it gets over or around 37 degrees it will start to get muddy and it sucks.
Great work on your video. It was nice to see the Granite bashing in the dirt. I like the fix you came up with for the tail end of the body. The Granite is affordable, fast and fun to drive. Even the body is reasonably priced. I really like the track you ran on. Maybe I can find it the next time I go to the beach from Murrieta. I found a good track close to where I live by looking at Google Earth. In the desert there are lots of options but it takes time to find them.

I drive mostly Asphalt and Grass with my Granite! I recently got to test it out on some Snow and Ice. I love it as it performs much better than my older truck my Traxxas Stampede
Shoe goo and drywall taped my big rock body and ive put about 20 lipos through it HARD bashing at the skatepark. No cracks or holes yet, only scrapes and lost paint on the edges

Pretty sure your motor mount the thick aluminum brace is bent from a couple hard front end crashes. Had mine a month and bent mine twice so far. Looking to pick up the hot racing one soon. It’s made out of better aluminum. Good luck nice bash bro 👍🏻👌🏻

I drive my Rustler mainly on the road since it sucks in the grass. For the Notorious, I want to only drive it in the grass so I don't wear down the tires, but as of now, I have to drive on the road since there is snow everywhere.
My bearings hot n locked up took out every bearing soak them in light oil removed the dust cover on every bearing repack them with grease put dust covers back on fixed my bearing trouble
It looks like its a little harder to jump than my senton and bigrock. I think the extra length on the chassis helps in air adjustments. Maybe u can turn your brake down a little
I have a granite 4 by 4 as well and it’s motor fried. I put in a new one and it worked for like 30 mins. I might know what’s wrong with it but I hope it’s nothing bad.
I just brought this car haven’t ran it yet but I’m definitely gone to shoe goo & dry wall tape it 1st also put a outcast wing on it to protect the back of the body
I found it interesting how you have had so many issues with cracks in your body. On my Rustler 4x4 vxl, the body has not cracked at all in the past 6 months, maybe the Traxxas roll cage support really does work miracles.
@@rcleesd Umm, going 55 mph off my ramp usually sends it over 60 feet and 20 feet high. I don't jump that high every time of course, but I have had some bad landings from that high and my body has been ok.
I use paper straws and hot glue for my bodies and it works better than anything else I tried. I sort of just got glue the edges of the body and drop the paper straws cut to size in like a roll cage then put a layer of hot glue over that. And let it dry..then I put two layers of duct tape on the back top of the bed above the rear lights and some plastic roof rack looking things screwed into the roof ...and it will take a beating and it has barely any scratches on it.. I'm gonna do a video on it. Soon. But I sent mine into fences broad side, it's flipped full speed and slid about 30 ft on it's roof and back at least a dozen times and it still looks like I just painted it..oh yes it's actually externally painted as well. so try that if you want
Nice video I have not got one of my own yet. I just got my son the 30 mph for Christmas and he likes it I cant wait to get the 50 mph nice area to run . My son uses it in lose dirt and street it handles great and have had no roll overs on street or dirt just grass and the body is strong like roof but I noticed he did dent the back where it says arrma so I'm looking for something for the back end to cover like the maxx so far i found some body post and a 2 inch light bar I'll be upgrading him too for the nights but no plastic bar for the back but I'm still looking ttyl
I just got a kraton 6s as my first rc. Im already looking at another and leaning to this or a talion or both. Of course my buddy has an 8s that Im looking at too.

Good video, I’m so jealous of this spot you have to do some ripping. I just got my granite just over a week ago. I’m enjoying it a lot, I’ve found a good soft dirt spot, I also have a park 5 mins from me with a lot of grass but no places that have any ability for any jumps. So far I’ve only had to replace a rear driveshaft. Btw it does so squeaker than usual. Also my body is intact with no dents or dings. I enjoy streets because I can attempt to hit high/top speeds. Any suggestions on how to find a good spot to rip at?
I have used it for about 3 weeks by now there is only 1 hole and it is at the bed but it is realy nothing. Considering the amount of jumps and flips and rolls, and bad landings, it has done very good. Oh and I have used the thing Olmos everyday 3 times.

That is such a good idea. I have heard this before. Someone got their real truck bed done and asked for them to spray his two rc truck body (both sides!) and they did it for free!
I have a granite isn't seem that loud but things I broke are only 2 stearing hubs. And I dont go easy on it. And my body is just scratch and has 1 spot I that Has a split but it doesn't look bad. Well I do have gorilla tape in it it works good
Yeah, I wonder if it is a bearing somewhere in the motor or something like that because I have tried a loose mesh and it sounds the same, but strips the spur gear almost instantly that way.
@@rcleesd The V3 still comes with the 'compound' spur gear? I bought the Hot Racing spur gear for my V1 Granite, the Arrma Granite upgraded metal spur gear is thinner than HR, I only buy the HR steel spur hear. It is wider against the pinion gear. I can't find the old V1 motor mount with the holes for each different Tooth screw holes, Wish Arrma left both motor mounts in stock. Loved the 15T screw hole not the adjustable groove holes on the V3. I see alot of complaints about it loosening.
@@danyan55Yes, the V3 does come with the compound plastic spur gear. I wish they would go back to the non-adjustable (separate holes for different sizes), they were a lot less likely to chew up the spur on hard landings. Liking my steel spur so far...
One of my fave arrmas to drive but lord I hate how it sounds. It friggin whistles! My Typhon doesn’t do that and it’s the same motor. The Kraton sounds amazing and the 4tec Vxl motor is my fave. So deep and low. Not like a high pitched whistle
My slipper clutch on mine loosened multiple times and it sounds exactly like that, so that's probably it. I poured loctite on the screw this time so hopefully it stays in. Also the gear mesh might be tight so that might add to the sound and all that aswell.
Bummer! I hear these servos go out fairly quickly on these trucks. Although, I did have an instance where the plug came disconnected from the receiver. Did it cut out all at once or slowly died?

I've never changed any of my tires on any RC....but I don't run on asphalt or concrete much. My Typhon 6s tires are getting kind of bald, but mostly from speed runs on the parking lot and some concrete.
I have a granite V1 the Dboots NEVER lasted long, I bought the Pro-Line Badlands MX28 2.8 MTD Raid Black 6x30 F/R PRO10125-10 and wow they last a long LONG time deep tread and good rubber, wouldn't buy any other wheel/tire for my Granite, you need to buy their 14mm adapters for the Granite 14mm hex. Dboots no more for me. Enjoy. Good vid * Every body from V1 , V2, now V3 wear out in same place, always have always will... nature of the beast... @@danyan55 thanks for the reply. Out of curiosity mine makes a vibration/ humming sound at half throttle when running on pavement. When I put on a stand and do it nothing sounds out of the ordinary. At full throttle and low throttle I don’t hear it.

Yeah, it's expensive here by the coast. The crazy part is, Oceanside is the most affordable area aling the cost of San Diego. Not nearly as bad as Carlsbad, Encinitas or Solana Beach. I own the brushed version as well (bought them first for me and my 4 year old son). I overheated those motors twice and ended up putting heat sinks on them which seemed to help. The 3S lineup has heatsinks and fans on the esc and motor as well as being brushless, so much more performance and far less heat.
Haha. It's possible! Man this truck can take a beating. I really want to get a Big Rock...this 3s lineup is a bargain for the money. Which do you like better so far, 1/10th, 1/8th or your 1/5?
@@rcleesd c'mon man. That's such a hard question lol. The 8s is definitely a handful. I would honestly say it's the 6s kraton. Big but still nimble. But they all have such different driving styles. Depends on how I'm feeling that day I guess.

I use white gorilla tape on my bodies, it helps a little bit. Bodies don't shred as much. I also use an exacto knife to help fit it.

The 8s are awesome, but not nearly as durable as the 6s and the 3s is the most durable of them all, mostly due to the light weight.

That's awesome! I went on Google maps and found a few cool local fields and jumps that locals have built over the years.

Did u adjust ur punch settings or the brakes?? Bcuz I found that the brakes were a little bit to strong for my style of driving.
I did set them to 50%, definitely too strong from the factory.

I’ve taken it on about 12 runs in the past two days 😂 and it’s held up fine and Ike pretty sure they all make that sound

Today the steering on my granite randomly stopped working. It was working fine and then all the sudden it stopped working. Any ideas what it could be?

Spamming you with comments lol, I looked up Oceanside California and it said housing is 102% percent higher than the national average! Compared to Aurora Illinois where I live only 13% higher.
Yeah, it's expensive here by the coast. The crazy part is, Oceanside is the most affordable area aling the cost of San Diego. Not nearly as bad as Carlsbad, Encinitas or Solana Beach. Google La Jolla and Rancho Santa Fe....those are the "expensive" areas. Thanks for all the comments, keep em coming, haha.

I own the brushed version as well (bought them first for me and my 4 year old son). I overheated those motors twice and ended up putting heat sinks on them which seemed to help. The 3S lineup has heatsinks and fans on the esc and motor as well as being brushless, so much more performance and far less heat.
Maybe you were just used the sound of a bad bearing.
Haha. It's possible! Man this truck can take a beating. I really want to get a Big Rock...this 3s lineup is a bargain for the money. Which do you like better so far, 1/10th, 1/8th or your 1/5?
@@rcleesd c'mon man. That's such a hard question lol. The 8s is definitely a handful. I would honestly say it's the 6s kraton. Big but still nimble. But they all have such different driving styles. Depends on how I'm feeling that day I guess.
