For Malaysia, they got extra front dashcam on-board..
I own a 2010 Toyota vios 1.5G MT. Last dec. 2017 it registered 21.1kms/liter in one of my travel. I have it recorded in my blackberry. I still use it. Mileage to date is still 105k.

I own the 4th gen aka "Joker". Only changes are the front grill, drl light (now integrated with the headlight and the size of the fog lamps. Everything else is literally the same lol.
Selling point? It's a Toyota. Yes other cars have better this and that. But for the long haul, nothing beats Toyota at least here in Ph. Cheaper parts which are almost always available, can be repaired just about anywhere and not to mention, the resale value is always good. I don't own one but if I'll ever buy a new sedan, this will always be in my list.
Honda City RS is 10k cheaper but has more tech such as Apple CarPlay and air vents on the second row. I find it more stylish too than the 2021 Vios. Comparo between the two naman dyan pls hehe

The reviewers always favor the City, but how come significantly more Filipinos buy the Vios? It can be described for three reasons: 1. Reliablity 2. Durability 3. Available parts everywhere (even online) Also the perfect choice for every rookie drivers who are still learning how to drive. 😎👍 Its very basic, it won't let you down no matter where you go. 🚗
The reason id simple bro, the vios starting price is 600+k, while the Honda city has a 900+k starting price (almost 1M in fact). So yeah logically more people can afford the vios more easily, with monthly under 20k, while the City is asking more on every financial aspects. It's just a story of affordability, value for the money.
As of writing this, I'm currently how to drive this car in a driving school. This XP150 is a good first car and a good learner car that's both forgiving and understanding. The pickup can be a bit slow because of below-average torque but still, it's perfect for essential commuting and weekend outings for the young and lower class.

honest opinion. this new Vios pales in comparison with the Honda City RS when it comes to features and tech inside. But I will praise Toyota by including Disc Brakes at the rear and minimizing NVH inside the cabin, which the GM6 City lacks, and i guess remains on the GN City. Honda, baka naman. 🙏🏼🤷🏻♂️
2021 Facelift front bumper looks much better.. Sana may 1.5 na base model.. The 1.3 base variant is enough for me, i don't need that much modern driving assist technology and infotainments.. Mga after 4-6 years madami na much better aftermarket parts for it. Now i appreciate base models kase wala masyado nakakahaniyang baguhin at alisin na pyesa unlike sa Mid/ top off the line variants.

I'd pick this Vios any day over the entry level Ford ranger manual, Nissan Altima, Honda City, Geely Coolray, MG ZS, Kia Stonic, because of the cheap maintenance after the warranty period, even if I take this to casa every PMS, I wont spend more than I should unlike other brands

3 srs airbags lang po yung VIOS 2021 1.3 XE CVT. ganun po yung unit namin, 3 lang po yung srs airbags, wala pa po syang foglamps at di pa po sya keyless entry, 4 colors lang din po available namely red, silver, green at white lang po.

yeah, if the newer Vios had the standard (single) vvt-i, it would've been more efficient than its predecesors. i'm getting about 10km/l in the city with my 2014 Vios 1.3J MT, but that doesn't matter to me since i don't drive that often.

I'll go to the new city over this.. for one reason. vios is a under powered car. im an owner of Vios G 2019 variant.. toyota CVT really struggles to get the car moving on inclines... yeah even on small incline your vios will cry unless you bloody step on the gas (and thats the time you'll hit something in front) and thats the topic most vios owners avoid specially the 1.3L variant owners.

My 2018 Mazda 3 1.5 sedan at the same price point against the 2021 Vios G is much much better in all aspect.. hays......
But not in parts. You cant get mazda parts anywhere. Unlike toyota you can get in even in most isolated parts of the country. Just my 50 cent

Actually, the current version of Vios in the Philippines to date is the current Yaris Ativ sedan here in Thailand.

I'll go to the new city over this.. for one reason. vios is a under powered car.
im an owner of Vios G 2019 variant.. toyota CVT really struggles to get the car moving on inclines... yeah even on small incline your vios will cry unless you bloody step on the gas (and thats the time you'll hit something in front) and thats the topic most vios owners avoid specially the 1.3L variant owners.
Just go for Honda Civic E
The city has better tech also
