Wrong an M340i has 150hp more and stiffer suspension and an LSD than the normal 3 series. Lexus also has additional bracing ad power. GRS is just a marketing badge to boost sales

It's a hair over one million pesos, equivalent to just over $18,000 which is the price of a basic Toyota Yaris (Vios in the Philippines) or the 3 cylinder Mitsubishi Mirage in the US. So what Performance can you expect? at least it gets the 1.5 engine (which improves the performance from the 1.3 engine models) interior upgrades and exterior kits. Youre also getting the toyota reliability especially with the engine and transmission. Want more for less? Get a lower tier brand. Thats why you have Alternative Brands. This is just basic Economics, but people run their mouth with all their "Whataboutisms" like the market is a level playing field (It's not).
I think For vios Grs owner like me i have the 2022 Vios GRS its not the specs that Grs has or Lacks or the expection people will always find to Judge the car But the pride of the owners that we owned this car, We work hard to Buy this car masaya kami sa kotse namin dahil pinag hirapan namin to and not dahil meron flaws ng kunti wala sasakyan na perpekto sabihin ko sa inyo pero ung saya and pride na meron kang vios Grs na ganito is priceless! we are one big proud owners here! Imagine if the same car gets Corolla's engine and transmission. That would make this a warm (if not hot) sedan that people have been waiting for years.

But for a top of the line subcompact car, there are better choices especially when Toyota is only 3rd on reliability while 2nd being Lexus and 1st is Mazda.

as a Vios owner myself, i swear that this won't turn heads. i like the front clip but it all ends there. the only people who would turn heads for this GR-S are Vios owners themselves. for me personally, i would get the City RS. but nice try for Toyota that they bring this variant.

Im still wondering you guys able to reach 21k per litre on the highway? Ive beeng using the vios for almost a year now and still i may say its quite a unleaded thirsty. What speed limit on the highway I need just to be able to reach the 21k per litre?
This is just like the Corolla Apex in the USA. Just an SE/XSE trim with a sportier front and rear bumper and side skirts. Toyota really loves doing that and yet people still buy them.

Quite disappointing Toyota didn't upgrade the engine but at least the styling flourishes in the new Vios GR-S are more tasteful than the ones in the old Prime models

toyota have taken advantage of its GR badge but not being true to its essence. It seems that toyota have been doin these tactics to boost sales but neglecting the performance side. GR should be Race Spec. Otherwise, toyota should've sticked with their regular variant trimmings. Would be nice to have a MT with a turbocharged engine in this vios variant only then would it give justice to the GR badge.

They should've put a 6 speed manual with lsd rather than a 10 gayspeed cvt. So even if it lacks the power, the driving experience would make up for it. Too bad that's not the case.

Most Toyota sedans exterior design pale in comparison to Hondas, Mazdas and probably even to Korean cars like Hyundai & Kia. Toyota SUV's are different.
Since it doesn't have any performance boost, you can buy a standard Vios 1.5 and make it a better looking one at a price less than the srp the Vios GR-S.
Not worth it. Still looks like typical vios. Just added body kits etc. At this price point, there are better-looking cars and more features or buy cross over instead.

Not much of a car but it is known for durability and reliabilitu. Thats what really count in a daily driver.

They should've put a 6 speed manual with lsd rather than a 10 gayspeed cvt. So even if it lacks the power, the driving experience would make up for it. Too bad that's not the case.
I was excited for this review, but it feels like, there is more downside than good side 😂 i would go for the G variant rather than this for its price point. They should have at least made the top variant into this.

Since it doesn't have any performance boost, you can buy a standard Vios 1.5 and make it a better looking one at a price less than the srp the Vios GR-S.
Not worth it. Still looks like typical vios. Just added body kits etc. At this price point, there are better-looking cars and more features or buy cross over instead.
