    I tested this back to back with the Veloz and I do think the Veloz is the better buy car. Losing out on the crystal clear 360 camera and handling slightly but the amount of space is really way more superior and the Veloz is also a very comfortable car with higher seating position and view.

      Looking on paper figures, Veloz ground clearance is 10mm higher than Mazda CX-5. I think Veloz is an intermediate between a SUV and a sedan.

      @@willidevegt8831 Yup, Veloz feels at home when you drive in Kampung roads at low speeds, it really feels like it was meant to be in those roads. It's narrow body and light steering makes it very easy to drive in narrow roads.
      But on higher speeds, it will get quite bouncy, not harsh, but quite a lot of bouncing due to the longer suspension travel

    Huge improvement in design, looks, NVH, interior and slightly broader, longer than its earlier model. Right pricing at RM95.5K. However, on a short test drive despite in 'power mode', the car tend to drag uphill (underpower) with louder rattling exhaust. Perhaps a 1.6L would have made the 2023 Vios just perfect ?

    This is not a family car anymore. When you can afford this car, you are no longer a fresh grad, you are a new owner of a house. Your new house needs you to buy IKEA furniture. You need the rear seats to fold to allow you fit in the IKEA furniture. You may be a father of newborns. When you install a baby car seat at the rear seat, you will wish you had more space. Go test drive Toyota Veloz and see how much handling ability that you are willing to compromise.

    As someone who drive alot, having no spare tyre is just bonkers. Even the Thailand models is equipped with it. Rather than weight savings, its just plain cost reduction.
    Trying using the tyre goo and see how unhappy the shop will be as their machines will be splattered by it.
    Comparing it to the BMW is a faux pass especially when the demographics for the car is clearly different. One is meant to be enjoyed during warranty period, the other is an everyday joe's daily.
    Cabin itself is a downgrade toward our neighbour's counterpart, doesn't help similarly priced contemporary at least have soft-touch door cards.
    Let me just digress on the rear headroom.

      @@haaland5303I believe you can retrofit the spare wheel inside just loosing out the organizer shelf. For me I prefer the pump and repair kit. Spare wheel is useless imo after years of driving. If you have a small leak or flat use the pump and air it up then drive to the nearest Tyre shop to patch the hole. No sweat no fuss. If the damage is severe call the tow truck from your insurance. It’s foc. My point of view it’s no longer practical to change your wheel esp dangerous if you’re stranded in the middle of highway. You will be at risk of getting knocked by fast vehicle. Not to mention it is hot sweaty and tiring. Lastly not many Malaysians bother to maintain their spare wheel. After a few years later when you need to use the spare Tyre during emergency, you found out it’s not sufficiently aired or expired unfit for use on the road. Tyres have shelf life as well. How often do we change the spare tyres when we change all 4 wheel tyres together?

    • @Kyle-kc8cw
      @Kyle-kc8cw Год назад

      I only got my first flat after 7 years of driving. And it was just a simple nail puncture which a repair kit would've solved easily. Furthermore, in the end the spare was useless because workshops overtightened the lug nuts, making it virtually impossible to remove with just the emergency tools. Drove with a flat to workshop and even they struggled to remove the lug nut. That lead to the flat tyre being damaged beyond repair and had to buy a new tyre.
      Also, I mountain bike. Very common to be isolated in the woods when mountain biking, no one around and far from everything and everyone. So, when you get a flat, guess what you got... tyre repair kit!

    We purchased a Toyota Vios as a second car 2 years ago. we have only driven it 8500 km. It is not a well built car. Its quality is sub par. A lot of minor issues such as reverse camera malfunction, display malfunction, poor mechanical quality, body integrity, etc. I don’t know if Toyota corporation quality has fallen or it is a function of Malaysian assembly.
    I don’t recommend this car to anyone who wants a reliable and dependable automobile.
