Hi nice video! In the sentence in the sentence in the beginning of the video you say: 苺狩りをしに行った時の
I assume the し here is just a different way of saying します (する)? I've never seen that before, interesting.
Yes it comes from します
Actually you can also say いちごがりにいく like かいものにいく(go shopping) so you can say noun +にいく like ピクニックにいく、りょこうにいく、キャンプにいくetc
But when it's します verb,
People also say しにいく。
Like I will go to Osaka to go shopping. You could say 大阪にかいものにいく or 大阪にかいものしにいく。the former is considered to be the proper grammar, but nowadays people say both of them, so it's important to know the latter too😊
If it's some kind of event, like ピクニック、バーベキュー、スキー、キャンプ、りょこう、かいもの、さんぽ、 people tend to use Noun +にいく like 今日ピクニックにいく。
But if it's verbs like 勉強します, 運動しますetc, しにいく is more common.
Like カフェにべんきょうしにいく。
こうえんにうんどうしにいく。
