hi i learned how to quilt when i was a kid from my mom and now that i am considered disabled I have picked it up again and its like starting all over but i am enjoying it a lot and i am enjoying your channel
Thank you! I truly believe it's a better tutorial when mistakes are shown and dealt with, instead of editing them out of a video. We all make mistakes, and in my opinion, if someone, like myself, makes a video without mistakes, it's almost like not telling the truth. That's why I leave them in. 🥰
Off I go to dig thru my scraps so I can make the table runner this will make a good gift for my daughter-in-law. Thank you Marie you always show us great things
Great Pattern and Instructions. 💜💜💜Lovely Table Runner. I like to make mine 40 inches as well. A few Custom Table Runners were 72” and Bed Runners 120” ! TFS .💕 AuntieEllen
I'm itching to ger started I love that binding method as always your tutorials add that "something" different for me to do. I'm thinking of my christmas table display. I know i have christmas fabrics in my loft so out come the ladders lol huge love sweetness x
Glitchy audio? meh I can live with it 💞 I love the braid effect . I'm thinking my husbands monitor desk would look great decorated with seasonal table runners 🤔 IDK why I never thought I'd use table runners, I'm a nut LOL could use on my tv stand too 🤯 My mind wants to move on but also finish my Halloween before it moves on it's a constant struggle HAHA Thank you for the beautiful tutorial & inspiration !
Bless your heart, you can give it away in a drawing. My favorite is the one you did today. I am going to look through my fall fabrics and try to make it as close to yours as I can. thank you so much. Have a Blessed day
Just finished watching your runner video. Going to make one soon. And try the backing/binding method.Have to clear my dining room "Table" so I can bring my machine out here and quilt a couple of tops.
I don’t often use table runners but do use table Center pieces. Thank You for a awesome tutorial once again. You always do such a good job of explaining everything.
Marie, I absolutely love this table runner and can see making several for Christmas!! I love your videos! Keep up the good work. If I were you I would add the clear medical tape to the back of your ruler. It totally prevents it from slipping and you can still see the markings. All the best! Hugs!
Thank you so much, I’m glad you like my tutorial! I appreciate you watching my video, and I also appreciate that you took the time to leave me a comment. Thank you for that and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend, with plenty of time to sew.✂️🥰🪡🧵
I made it with Christmas scraps. It’s beautiful and I’m really new at this. I had issues with squaring up and quilting stitch in the ditch. Stopping and starting. Now I see again how to square up. Thank you. You’re a great teacher
Hello! I'm so glad you made this. I'm sure with the Christmas scraps, it came out gorgeous! I used to have a lot of trouble with stitching in the ditch, too. Sometimes it's easier to use either the edge of your presser foot or your quarter inch foot and stitch beside the seam, instead of in the ditch.
For some reason this popped up. I made this 2 times with different scraps. I feel like lol my girls need one for their table. I learned so much thank you.
Love it! I will try your method sometime Marie. I made myself an autumn table runner last year using a free pattern from the Fabric Patch. I did film it. Today ( the 9th of October) we are having our Thanksgiving dinner at my parents place and Mom borrowed it to put on her table. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians. To my American friends, I will catch you next month.
I scored three of those folding tables full of donated fabric to the RV resort yardsale, got it all for $25 because they didn't want to pack it all up. Off I go to gather my material for this runner, I'm going to make matching placemats for it as well!!! I'm sew excited,..I just can't hide,..I'm about to lose control and I think I like it!!!! hehehe!! 😄😍🤩
H my… WHAT a bargain! You certainly can’t beat a sale price like that! You must be over the moon with excitement! I know how fun it can be to keep looking through, pre-planning projects, seeing what matches, etc. Happy Sewing 🧵🥰
If I put a runner on my table, it instantly becomes a cat bed. It drives me crazy! 🤪 Very cute though and I actually think this is something that even I could handle! Thanks Marie! 💞
Good to see you this week Marie! I really like that table runner, braids are always classic no matter what color they are. I think I'm under the weather again, I've been sleeping a whole lot and body aches. Ugh! Probably the flu, maybe covid, who knows? Can't wait to see you on Wednesday!
Watched this video a dozen times! You are an awesome teacher. My first-ever table runner is complete-just in time for Thanksgiving... and I am so proud! Thank you!
Your table runner came out so beautifully! Those fall colors are so pretty and I love how the different prints play so well together. I love the pattern those strips make. I have a lot of the 2 1/2” jelly roll strips, so if I make one, it will be based on those sizes probably. I’m always looking for ways to use them as I have so many beautiful rolls. Thank you for another fun and informative tutorial! Have a wonderful and restful evening!
Thank you! 😊 Your comment made my day! That table runner is sitting in front of me right now on my living room coffee table and I absolutely adore it. I'm glad you liked this video and I appreciate that you took the time to write a comment. Have a great rest of your week and happy sewing!
Nice Marie. Love having ideas on what to sew up. Thanks. I love self binding my quilts as well. I think I will make a table runner for my neighbor. She is having a rough time. Maybe something pretty, assuming it will come out pretty, will make her smile.
Thank you so much! I love making autumn themed projects. Not that I don't like other seasons, but there's something about autumn that just gets my creative juices flowing and I just love to sew autumn projects. I had just mentioned to someone the other day that I have a lot of autumn project videos, lol... everything from tote bags, table runners, a few different pot holders and a few more!
I know this might seem like a daunting project since youre a beginner, but it's pretty straightforward and not too difficult. Even if you just use straight lines of fabric and then did the rest the way I showed here, I'm sure you could do it! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! 🧵✂️❤️
❤I love all of your tutorials! 🎃This table runner is on my To- Do list. A meeting of the minds around a TABLE , like a meeting of the knights around the ROUND Table, is a great gathering spot! Table Runners for quilting circles! Yaaaay!
Haha, I love all your comments, you're so lively and spirited.. I'm glad you like this, I have been making this table runner for quite a while for mysrlf and others and although it's not actually a pattern, more of a method, I seem to go back to it time after time so I figured "why not share it with everyone?"
so pretty the colors are true autumn .. well time to dig into my fall autumn scrap box ..and make this table runner,.. my sister would love this ..ty another great video,,,,,,,,
its amazing how people can make these patterns. I am having trouble with something on my computer with task manager. Every time i want to use a capitol letter it won't let me. So pretty. If you want it longer just do more strips right? That is a pretty table runner. I love it.
You are so welcome! The one from this tutorial sits on our coffee table every autumn and is one of my most favorite things. I hope you have fun sewing your own!
Love the decor in the room.Oh so pretty.I can't believe how easy you made that wrap around binding look to do.Still struggle with binding.Really like the fall fabric prints in your table runner.Beautiful!!Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here and well we all have Covid!! Im on the mend so tag im it,Turkey's on the table tomorrow.
Marie, thank you gif this table runner tutorial 👏👏👏. I’ve not made one yet, but my first quilt I used the backing as my binding! I was very pleased with it. ❤️😀
Wonderful! I’m so happy to hear that! I have mine right here on our coffee table in front of me while I’m replying to you. The next one I make is going to be reversible for two seasons. Are you a member of our Facebook group? I was just going to say that if you are, I would love it if you posted a picture of your table runner. Either way, thank you so much for letting me know that you found the video helpful. Take care and happy sewing!
I'm happy that you liked this! I have a couple of placemat videos, but here is one in case you missed it. You could always use the pattern from the table runner for the center, too. ruclips.net/video/jX84GRQ3v58/видео.html
Hello Carol! I'm so glad that you enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you so much for the compliments, I appreciate it. I love bringing you guys fun things to sew!
I found the table runner! Yes, this table runner will go perfectly with the Autumn Placemat and Potholders. I just came in from receiving my ruler trays Marie! I love them, and the 10 x 10 is just perfect! Thank you so much! (P.S.) I placed your adorable Marie's Scrappy Creations card in the ruler business card holder. Now it is one of my sewing keepsakes. Love it!
Wonderful! We’re happy that you liked everything and that the larger sized one was perfect for your needs. Yes, the placemats, table runner, potholders, etc all go together well to make a great Autumn kitchen set. Don’t forget about the magnets (for your refrigerator) and the jar openers. 😊😘. Have a great weekend!
Thank you so much, I love it, as well! I do want to make a Christmas table runner with the same pattern, but switch out Christmas fabric, instead of the autumn fabric. I'd also like to make it reversible.
Hello Dottie and welcome to my channel! I definitely see all the comments, so no worries about that. I'm glad you enjoyed this and I appreciate your taking the time to comment!
Ohhhh Marie, you have no idea how much I love this table runner and I cant wait to make one ... unfortunately that wont be until the market season is over in mid December. But it'll take me that long to choose my fabrics 🤦🏻♀️😂 love, love, love 😍
You are so welcome! I really loved this project and I love looking at it on my coffee table. I hope you make your own, and that you smile each time you look at it. Happy sewing! 🍁🧵✂️🥰
Beautiful table runner! I would have liked to see the quilting part. It looks like you had to stop and start, I can’t see the stitching line on the right side. Did you use the same thread color (matching the back) on the front? Great job!
Thank you! This is one of my favorite projects, just because I love the way the fabrics went together on it. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment, I appreciate that!
Thanks so much! That's just the same thing that happens to me. When I use clips, it feels like they weigh down the fabric, or they get caught on the side of my machine or table and then I miss my top stitching. But I suppose it's what we all get used to. Happy sewing 💗🪡🧵
Marie you had given a recipe for your pumpkin bread awhile back. Do you remember what video that was on? I thought you said it made like 7 little loaves. I have a recipe from you with one 15 oz can of pumpkin. Can you tell me how many loaves it makes please?
I wish I knew which video it was, but I don't remember other than it was a What's Up Wednesday, lol. As far as loaves go, do you mean how many regular loaves? It seems to me it's 3, but it depends on which pans I use (I have wider and longer ones).
I made the table runer it was a disaster. But it is finished. I am very disapointed in myself. I did the pot holders they are a mess, but I can use them. I haven'ty sewn in awhile so usually it takes a few things to get me back in the grove lol
Hi Jackie! I’m so sorry that you had a hard time with the table runner and the potholders. Potholders were some of my very first projects because no matter how horribly my first ones turned out, they were always usable. They’re a great item to practice techniques on. I’m not sure went what went wrong with your table runner, but I wish I was there with you, I definitely lend you a helping hand. Just keep trying, that’s the important part. Many times I have made things and my first one (or two) have turned out horribly… until I master it. Hang in there!
hi i learned how to quilt when i was a kid from my mom and now that i am considered disabled I have picked it up again and its like starting all over but i am enjoying it a lot and i am enjoying your channel
Beautiful runner for the fall! Thanks for generously sharing this amazing project! Blessings!
That is a beautiful table runner Marie
I love it when mistakes are made and you show us what to do to correct them.
Thank you! I truly believe it's a better tutorial when mistakes are shown and dealt with, instead of editing them out of a video. We all make mistakes, and in my opinion, if someone, like myself, makes a video without mistakes, it's almost like not telling the truth. That's why I leave them in. 🥰
I love this table runner! I have everything cut I will start sewing in the morning. It’s going to be blue and white snowflakes ❄️

It's beautiful. I'm a new quilter and so ready to decorate my table with your pattern.
Wonderful! I’m so glad that you enjoyed the video (and it’s pattern). Welcome to my channel! Happy sewing 🧵

Wow Marie - What a beautiful runner for an autumn table decoration!
Oh my I was just thinking of how to make this design thank you for showing how to make this love the binding
Oh, how pretty, I would be the envy of my sister if I had a "table" runner as beautiful as this one. Great job Marie, as always.
I always gain a few extra tips from you. Such as how much backing to leave attached for the turnover version.
I don’t often use table runners but do use table Center pieces.
Thank You for a awesome tutorial once again. You always do such a good job of explaining everything.
That's a beautiful table runner! Yesterday I just changed my curtains and table cloths \ runners. So perfect timing. Thanks!!
Love that you showed us how to make this! Am currently working on 2 table runners - quilting the individual dreidels. Yes, I’ve lost my mind! 🤪
Sounds pretty ❤️😀
May make this Table runner for my daughter. Thanks
Beautiful table runner!!
Table runners are my favorite thing to make & I love love love this one! Thanks for the tutorial.

Awwhh 🥰 ❤️😀
I am just seeing this and it is one of the best braid videos I have seen. Ty
I have not watched your shows before..I really enjoyed it. You do a very informative show. And I liked that you gave the finished size at the end. 😅

Same here! 😄 I still plan to make more table runners anyway.
Lol I have 10 cat beds and one table runner. Where do they sleep? Yup
Been there. Remember your car is always the King/Queen, you are there to serve, always. Still, we love them no matter what. ❤❤❤❤

Great job on table runner. I’ve never pulled back fabric to front. I ll have to try it
OH my goodness ❤ I love Fall! I absolutely love it!! Love your patterns you used, perfect!!!

I’m making this for a thanksgiving table runner. So far I’ve sewn the strips together and cut off the edges. Now to do borders etc
Yay!!! I hope you enjoyed sewing this runner! Thanks for watching!
Very nice. I like the different binding idea

What a very beautiful table runner. Have you the same with christmas fabrics.
Thank you so much, I love it, as well! I do want to make a Christmas table runner with the same pattern, but switch out Christmas fabric, instead of the autumn fabric. I'd also like to make it reversible.
I love your channel! New to scrappy sewing. I hope you see this because it was a year ago you made the video!
Hello Dottie and welcome to my channel! I definitely see all the comments, so no worries about that. I'm glad you enjoyed this and I appreciate your taking the time to comment!
My table is small so I don't use table runners, but this one is so pretty.
I would make this pattern into placemats for small tables. I have one also.❤
Ohhhh Marie, you have no idea how much I love this table runner and I cant wait to make one ... unfortunately that wont be until the market season is over in mid December. But it'll take me that long to choose my fabrics 🤦🏻♀️😂 love, love, love 😍

Love it and that fabric
Thanks so much!!!!
Beautiful table runner! I would have liked to see the quilting part. It looks like you had to stop and start, I can’t see the stitching line on the right side. Did you use the same thread color (matching the back) on the front? Great job!
love the fabric
Thank you! This is one of my favorite projects, just because I love the way the fabrics went together on it. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment, I appreciate that!

I use my clips, I get stuck all the time with pins too much. Pretty runner
Thanks so much! That's just the same thing that happens to me. When I use clips, it feels like they weigh down the fabric, or they get caught on the side of my machine or table and then I miss my top stitching. But I suppose it's what we all get used to. Happy sewing 💗🪡🧵
Did you spray baste the top and backing fabric to the batting before quilting?
Marie you had given a recipe for your pumpkin bread awhile back. Do you remember what video that was on? I thought you said it made like 7 little loaves. I have a recipe from you with one 15 oz can of pumpkin. Can you tell me how many loaves it makes please?

Marie, this table runner is awesome. Love the way you did the binding. Going to have to try this way.
@@MariesScrappyCreations Thank you. I have a Bernina, I don' think it is set up for quilting. I will keep on trying., Love your videos.
Beautiful!1 do you sell your work? Thank you
Thanks so much! Last year I had a live sale where I sold items, but I don't have much on hand this year.
