Loved this video. Now I am going to get out my fall fabrics and make one or two.. It feels like fall here today, in NL with high NE winds and rain, cool temps. We got some effects of dear Earl. Even the blue jays and squirrels are hunkered down and not at the patio door looking for peanuts. Feel better real soon and relax.

I'm sorry about the loss of sound at the end of the video. Sew 3/4 of an inch around the edge for the flange. Measure in between sewn edges and that will tell you what size pillow form you need
Grab some autumn colored scraps and let's sew an adorable project together! Everything you'll need is listed below and I bet you have most of it in your sewing area!
What you'll need to make this pillow:
    1) Ten 6" squares - Nine for the pillow top an one for the applique of your choice, or a 6" Fussy Cut piece of fabric.
    2) Small piece of Heat N Bond lite for applique
    3) 1/2 yard - for the two pieces - back of pillow (envelope back)
    Cut at 19" x 11" and 19" x 14.
    4) 18" - 20" square of scrap fabric (for behind the pillow top and batting)
    5) 18" - 20" square of cotton quilt batting
    6) Two pieces of muslin or sheeting for making pillow form
    7) Polyfil for pillow stuffing
    8) Link to water eraseable markers: amzn.to/3RmUYfD
I used the following leaf pattern - I printed only page 3, the larger sized leaf: www.firstpalette.com/pdf/leaf-maple.pdf
** You can find a different leaf pattern or any applique of your choice for this project.
** Link to appliqued potholders I mentioned in the video:

I am so impressed when the volume went on this tutorial, seriously your hands did the talking for you. For the visual learner (that's alway been me) it's so important, now it makes sense why i love your tutorials so much. My friends years ago used to say I'd not be able to tell a story if my hands were tied behind my back haha I'm pleased to say I'm sure i can manage it now. I'm a bit late to the party on my comment but the pillow is made and in the post on it's way to my grandaugher in Scotland as I type. xxx

Thank you Jo! I've been told I talked with my hands a lot, but I never really thought about it coming in handy. LOL! The bad part about all this is that I knew the sound was out, so I took about 3 hours to learn how to do a voice over, then did 2 takes of talking over the video to get it just right, recorded it, put it on RUclips and from my end , it plays fine. But apparently it didn't sync well with RUclips, , because it's still missing when you guys play it. Technology, ugh!

    • @MariesScrappyCreations
      @MariesScrappyCreations  2 месяца назад

Hi! No problem at all! It’s great to see you again! Personally, I don’t wash the fabric before I make them. The reason for this is that when I wash and dry them, they crinkle the slightest little bit, depending on the fabric. It’s not a big enough project to worry about shrinkage, so they still fit the pillow shams. I just really like the way they look. I used to always pre- wash my fabrics, but I rarely do it any longer.
