I am so impressed when the volume went on this tutorial, seriously your hands did the talking for you. I'm a bit late to the party on my comment but the pillow is made and in the post on it's way to my grandaugher in Scotland as I type. xxx
Thank you Jo! I've been told I talked with my hands a lot, but I never really thought about it coming in handy. LOL! The bad part about all this is that I knew the sound was out, so I took about 3 hours to learn how to do a voice over, then did 2 takes of talking over the video to get it just right, recorded it, put it on RUclips and from my end , it plays fine. But apparently it didn't sync well with RUclips, , because it's still missing when you guys play it. Technology, ugh! I was so delighted to see your beautiful pillow, and now you've already got it posted to your granddaughter, how wonderful! I'm sure she'll love it as much as I do!
Guess what? I made the fall pillow and it looks awesome. I'm going to put flanges on all my pillows from now on. Lol! I really liked this tutorial. It made me finally cut up some of my harvest fabric. I was hoarding them apparently. :) I went to quilt guild today and showed them my pencil case and my wrist pincushion and they wanted to know where I found them. So I told them all about Marie's scrappy creations. You may be getting some more subscribers. There were almost 50 of us there today. Yeah!
Good morning Amanda! I'm so glad to hear that you made the pillow and that you liked the flanged edge. I think it adds so much to a pillow, a better finish or polished. Whatever the word would be. I understand about the hoarding of the fabric, really I do! What's that all about, anyway? We buy it and it's beautiful and then we can't cut it, haha! Hi Lesa. I knew I had lost sound and then I recorded a voice over to cover that part. It's here on my end, but apparently no one else is hearing it. I'm sorry. I'm sick in bedd with the flu and there's nothing I can do to fix it right now. I think the only thing I explained in that part was to sew 3/4 of an inch from the edge to make the flange.. Hi Marie, i'm so sorry that i'm swamping you with so many questions. I would like to know when you make pillow covers. Do you wash/dry your fabric first before cutting it?
Hi! No problem at all! It’s great to see you again! Personally, I don’t wash the fabric before I make them. The reason for this is that when I wash and dry them, they crinkle the slightest little bit, depending on the fabric. It’s not a big enough project to worry about shrinkage, so they still fit the pillow shams. I just really like the way they look. I used to always pre- wash my fabrics, but I rarely do it any longer.
