    So what is the one where you are not connected to a host, or its own network?

    • @DrYerby

      Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) is a feature in operating systems (such as Windows) that enables computers to automatically self-configure an IP address and subnet mask when their DHCP server isn't reachable. The IP address range for APIPA is 169.254. 0.1-169.254. 255.254, with the subnet mask of 255.255.

    Can i install two redhat linux machine in same folder through vmware workstation using one iso image

    • @DrYerby
      @DrYerby  10 месяцев назад

      Yes - do the first one -- use your ISO -- then do the second one. The ISO file is just like putting a CD into your computer - you are just using it to boot to and do the installation. After you complete the installation - you do not need the ISO file to move forward.

    Do I run two virtual machine simultaneously in VMware workstation player?

    • @DrYerby
      @DrYerby  11 месяцев назад

      If you're using Player specifically I believe it's limited to one VM. You'll want to use workstation pro or the free virtualbox will work.

      Update - right now, Broadcom is giving workstation pro and Fusion away for free for personal use.

    Is the vmware NAT network the same as a WAN NetworkK?

    • @DrYerby
      @DrYerby  Месяц назад

      NAT is like it was setup behind a networking device running NAT - that device has one IP and uses NAT to give the machines behind it a protected address. It would not be a public address, or even an address on your real Local Area Network -- however - part of what NAT does is allow traffic out to the Internet through that device (hypervisor running NAT) and route it back to the device without exposing the device directly to the public. --- so... no :)

    I am using vmware and i want to connect to another vm of different subnet but i unable to doing so, please help me to figure it out

    • @JohnathanYerby
      @JohnathanYerby 2 года назад

      You can add multiple Network cards and put them on the same network, otherwise you'll need to have them going across a real or virtual router to get from Network 1 to 2.

    The NAT option did not work, does it have to be NAT in both VM's or just in one?

    • @DrYerby
      @DrYerby  3 месяца назад

      I do not have this setup with me now to test - but my thought is that they both need to be on the same NAT network. It would be like plugging both machines into a switch (with no VLANs or segregating traffic) - once they both have the same network they should be able to communicate.
