I can't believe that other well renowned and wannabe professional trainings don't mention enabling the ICMPv4-In rule on the firewall. There went my last 3-4 hours of self-learning.. Kudos to you for being specific!
im an intern in a cloud computing company and my boss gave me an assignment to connect 2vm by myself. i set up an ad and a client pc. but i was stuck at this part, thank for the video robert!
Hi Robert. Just want to let you know that I tried this when I installed Windows Server 2019 and Windows 11 on the same VM, and this still works. You have a new subscriber here.
do i need to change the Net to host or bridge before i can make the server static ?...will a static IP on both workstation ( server and windows 7or 10 ) work with NET
6 years after graduating, I still return to this video and this channel. Thanks from Saudi Arabia

Thank you. Short and sweet. Better guide than those 19 minute long videos. And it still works in 2021!

Thank you!! I was banging my head against the wall. I didn't even think to check Windows Firewall rules for inbound echo request
Glad I could help!

Why can I not ping my other VM (Windows) from my main VM (Linux). But I can ping from my windows VM to my Linux VM? :(
Ping is turned off by default on all Windows computers except a DC. I have a video on how to enable it.
how can I make two VM ping each other with different network class one 172.16..... and another 192.168...
You'll have to set one server up as a router. ruclips.net/video/aCf5At9xKds/видео.html
Through the VMware settings did you set them as bridged or something else?
It was set to the default NAT but as long as all the VMs are set to the same as each other then it will work.
do i need to change the Net to host or bridge before i can make the server static ?...will a static IP on both workstation ( server and windows 7or 10 ) work with NET
You can create a static regardless of network type.
In Virtual box there is option of NAT NETwork
Yes. NAT will work but will also have access to the internet. If you don't want that then go with Internal.
Why is it 32 bytes of data and not 64?
Legacy. It has been that way for over 20 years.
Where do you get these IP addresses and default gateways from? Can you please shed some light on that.
Great question. Please watch my playlist to get you started in TCPIP. Pick whichever videos will hep you out. ruclips.net/video/WOcK9XeAAXM/видео.html
