  • Use bridged networking
    Configure a bridged network connection for the virtual machine. With bridged networking, the virtual machine has direct access to an external Ethernet network. The virtual machine must have its own IP address on the external network.
    If your host system is on a network and you have a separate IP address for your virtual machine (or can get an IP address from a DHCP server), select this setting. Other computers on the network can then communicate directly with the virtual machine.
    Use network address translation (NAT)
    Configure a NAT connection for the virtual machine. With NAT, the virtual machine and the host system share a single network identity that is not visible outside the network.
    Select NAT if you do not have a separate IP address for the virtual machine, but you want to be able to connect to the Internet.
    Use host-only networking
    Configure a host-only network connection for the virtual machine. Host-only networking provides a network connection between the virtual machine and the host system, using a virtual network adapter that is visible to the host operating system.
    With host-only networking, the virtual machine can communicate only with the host system and other virtual machines in the host-only network. Select host-only networking to set up an isolated virtual network.

    Dear Vijay, thank you for this video. I have host machine with two NIC and two guest virtual machines. I want to connect each guest VM to each own network. So I know I must use bridged connection in order other computers on network can access vm guest. The problem is that guest VMs belongs to completely different networks in different classes. How to ensure that guest VM1 be part of its own network and VM2 to be part of its own (since they belog to different networks).

      Sunny Solanki you can select only bridge connection, you ignore the replicate physical connection

      Vijay Yadav do I have to give DNS or default gateway. If yes then in both the machines(server and 8) the DNS and default gateway must be same

    hi,
    how about the whole network of the company for example?can it handle multiple networks in one virtual machine?

    • @ittec4u
      @ittec4u  6 лет назад +2

      Nadnad Vinarao, bro company never use Vmware workstation it is only use for testing, but in production network only use Vmware vsphere (esxi cloud) and then create virtual switch in vsphere cloud.

      thank you for your response Vijay Yadav...so it is the same in the real world that what happens in the virtual machine you can do it to different clients or (user account) in a single server?
