    READ MY ADIDAS POWERLIFT 5 REVIEW: thatfitfriend.com/adidas-powe...
    The Adidas Powerlift 5 is the latest Adidas weightlifting shoe to hit the market. The Powerlift 5 is the 5th model in Adidas' popular Powerlift shoe line.
    As a fan of prior Adidas Powerlift shoes (I've liked 1-4 for the most part), I was super excited to the Powerlift 5 to the test. This model features an updated canvas upper with additional mesh inserts.

    8:13 Weight, Drop, and Insole
    8:21 Construction Breakdown
    10:31 Final Thoughts
    Overall, I enjoy the Adidas Powerlift 5 and I think it's a step in a good direction for the Adidas Powerlift shoe line.
    For most recreational lifters and beginners, I think the Adidas Powerlift 5 will be a fine shoe regarding its performance. It's stable, secure, and has a good level of traction.
    There are a couple of issues that I have with this model like its toe box and tongue, so it would be nice to see these tweaked in the future.

  • @molohov3875

    Adidas seems to have a separate lifting shoe design department that only caters to narrow feet. Maybe the idea is that squishing the foot makes it more stable, but then why did they go wide with The Total...

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 года назад +4

      I think it more so has to do with the last construction that has been used on prior models. Cheaper for adidas to use a similar mold and only tweak things like upper materials than redo the whole shoe/shape 🤔

  • @MadelnMachines
    @MadelnMachines 2 года назад

    I just got the Powerlift 4 in 10 and 10.5 to try for a bargain price! Half a size up is 100% necessary for me. Unfortunately the metal eyelets dig into my foot - if it didn't have them they would be perfectly comfortable. I would also like it to be more breathable. Do you think I should try the powerlift 2/3? Is it the same fit, more breathable? Is the heel height going to be very noticeable or problematic for dead lifts?

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 года назад

      Powerlift 3 would probably be the better call - not sure if they'll be much better for you regarding breathability though.
      Same fit, yes.
      Yes. IMO, unless you're doing weightlifting specific pulling (clean pulls, building strength off the floor with this style of footwear, etc.), then I would take them off for pulls as an elevated heel can mess with deadlift mechanics for most recreational lifters.

      The og legacy lifter is also on sale through some outlets as well.
      Rom 3/4 are okay - but only if you can find them for less than $150. Not worth $200, imo

    Got those for 70 euroes, first lifting shoes so felt like I could not get a better price for a better shoe. Love them, would maybe like a bit higher heel but whatver, it just means I should work more on my mobility. For a beginner like me they are great.
    Like you said, I wish the toe box was wider. I'm used to barefoot shoes or altra shoes so I love wide toe-boxes.
    I will probably change shoes in the future if I continue lifting, but for a price like that I can't say no.

    Hi! how does Adidas powerlift 5 compares to Adipower3? does 90€ extra worth for that little extra height heel? I compete in powerlifting competitions(well only once yet lol), always trained with converses chuck tailors, would you recommend me powerlifts 5 or adipower 3? is that height heel really important if i squat low bar and i dont have mobility issues? would these shoes add more stability than converses? thanks alot! hope you respond, because im lost rn 😅

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Год назад

      IMO, not prob worth for your context. It’s tough to say regarding heel height without seeing your squat mechanics, but my gut says it will prob matter very little to you and I’m curious if you’ll end up preferring your converse or weightlifting shoes for low-bar once you play with both.
      That being said, I’d go powerlift and use them as a tool to see where they fit your training/competition context. For ex, if you prefer your converse once you try them, you could always use them for high bar in the off season etc.!

      @@tallrodster7103 I just bought the Adidas The Total and I really enjoy them. I was already used to a low profile shoe, this was really what I was looking for. The toebox is somehow wide, but I'm happy I didn't went down half size since it would probably be too small for my feet afterwards.
      I wanted to go with the nike metcon 7 or 8. But they were more expensive and the ones I wanted were out of stock. I think that 77€ for the Adidas The Total was a great deal!
      Sadly in my coutry the sports stores don't have this kind of shoes... so I had no way to try any of these shoes personally. I just ordered them and waited for the best.

      I use the Powerlift 3’s and honestly, they do the job just fine. Mobility is good incl ankles so I don’t feel the heel would be justified necessarily. I think it’s more just wanting more gear!
