- For the first time, we get to take a look at behind the scenes content from Nickelodeon Animation Studios! Crew photos, original art, and upcoming shows are all compiled into this official book.
Great the 1998 Nickelodeon Animation Studio employee yearbook has been found.
I loved this era of Nickelodeon animation back then.
I dont think it was ever lost
This is what I'd consider a "holy grail" of lost media.
Not SpongeBob pornography
The spongebob porn is the "horny grail" not the "Holy grail"
They do sound similar so I don't blame you for being confused
Nah both are especially the spongebob lewds
Nah, Behind Closed Doors is holy grail, because it was not meant to be seen by the public.
Pornography is done for "intended arousal." You think people were getting turned on by it? Lol
Definitely take this to a print shop of some kind and get these pages scanned!
Oh wow, the newsletter actually mentions an unproduced Angry Beavers episode that I had never heard of until now. ("Magnum Opus," a musical rock opera-themed ep.) It's surreal to see a window into another era when, if things hadn't turned out the way they eventually did, the beaver brothers could've had even more animated adventures.
That crow cartoon at 25:12 is Curbside, a 1999 pilot attempting to revamp classic Terrytoons characters like Mighty Mouse, Tom Terrific and Deputy Dawg. Those crows are Heckle and Jeckle, who were meant to be talk show hosts that acted as a framing device for the cartoon shorts themselves.
Thank you, I was about to say the same thing.
I WAS ABOUT TO COMMENT THIS HOLY CRAP
I read a lot of the Hank the Cowdog books as a kid, definitely never knew it might've been planned as a show at one point
It makes sense! I wish it could've happened!
I can confirm that all of the words are used in the word search. Nickelodeon wasn’t lying.
This is an incredibly important piece of Nickelodeon history
Insanely awesome find dude. Great stuff ❤
4:55 that is worthy of bragging about too, I was a kid during the pokemon craze and you could not escape it 😂
4:47 Probably one of the greatest quotes ever. ( 6:32 Those Dora ones too)
14:40 Besides that Little Beaver show (Don Chuck Monogatari/Le Petit Castor) by Studio Knack, I can't deny that Beavers were new to the North American animation scene. (I mainly know them because Pogman was drawn by the same person)
18:32 Wouldn't surprise me Butch Hartman would think of himself like he was an actual Superman. [Giggles]
In my head, I always associate Zoomates as a McFarlane and Hartman thing (mostly a Hartman thing due to the desings)
Neat video! Will be glad if it the scans help Poparena on Knick Knacks (or at least they'll get some laughs out of it, idk)
Wasn't there Papa Beaver's Storytime by Cinar?
Frankie Muniz was a regular on Fairly Oddparents? How did I not know this?
Oh, he voiced Chester for the first three seasons. I never noticed because AJ's voice change was far more obvious.
Summer 1998 is my favorite time for Nickelodeon so this is kind of amazing.
Spongebob was almost finished development by the time, when the book was published in late 1998, and glad the book referenced Rocko, Rugrats, Fairly Oddparents, Ren and Stimpy, and others too.
Dang, $450, but glad you got it to archive.
From the description, Craig Bartlett sounds like that one popular kid in School. I wish I could meet him
I applied for the avatar trainee programs and as I crossed my fingers and hope I make it in the program-
‘
This made me even more excited and I hope that they have kept this tradition up. I would love to be apart of an employee yearbook 😊
Interesting to see the then-new Spongebob page describe him as "overzealous", i think thats a pretty fitting way to describe his naive enthusiasm.
awesome video, thanks for taking the time to do this
In the last year or so your content has gotten much better, keep up the good work man I mean it.
this book has great juicy lore
That promo image for Invader Zim towards the end of the book is kind of odd because it shows Gaz sneaking around Zim's lab for some reason. There was an episode where Gaz has to break Dib out of Zim's lab only so she can go to Bloaty's pizza, but i don't know if that episode was being made at the time that promo image was submitted for the book or not, and regardless i would have thought they would have just made an image that used Dib since that image doesn't really seem to appear in the episode anyways. So i wonder if that little detail might mean something about an earlier idea for the show that didn't go anywhere.
CatDog and Oswald the Octopus were so UNDERRATED! Like, can we just talk about how they deserve so much better?
Especially catdog
HANK THE CORNDOG 😭😭😭 I read the crap out of those books as a kid!
22:30 Fun Fact: This TV Movie Appeared On The UK Version Of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire As A Fastest Finger First Where The Participants Had To Put The Words In The Name In The Right Order
Of course 3D glasses don't come across on camera. They require two eyes so you can perceive depth. Lmao
Thanks for sharing this. I saw this on Twitter. I love it so much. Now I need to make 2 videos of one subject in this video as well. Maybe three. Anyway, for now, thank you for archive videoing this.
I Remember “Globehunters: An Around the World in 80 Days Adventure”
Someone sniped the yearbook, but you got the better one of the two, especially with the newsletter.
One day, there will be reboots of old Nickelodeon shows.
About that Fairly OddParents Article in Splat News, "7 EPISODE PICKUP"!?
This confirms that "Christmas Everyday" is the Season 1 Finale and not the Season 2 Premiere
I am a HUUUUGE Invader Zim fan, the little Zim tidbits were incredible to see!!
"Don't vaporize people's heads"
Gir that one time his head exploded:
Fun fact: It’s true that Hey Arnold’s second movie was cancelled in 2004. BUT, in 2017 Nickelodeon decided to animate it in HD and release it as a TV movie. It even had a TON of marketing on commercial breaks.
It's even on Netflix, where it can be viewed today.😅
I have a Nickelodeon Studios chair I found in a goodwill in middle of nowhere Illinois. There's no name on mine unlike the only other one for sale i could find. Definitely a cool piece I probably would never part ways with.
It's not related, but the little running VHS tape in your endscreen is so adorable.
I saw the listing on eBay! Glad you got it!! Was out of my price range 😅
Apparently 4kids entertainment did a similar kind of news letter
What an amazing find! I wonder if that archival place the yearbook advertised is still in business (could be a good place for lost media hunts).
Wow, that is amazing. Fine, right there.
Also, can you share all the page image on archive?
I will make sure I show up to the next Live Stream to bring this up but it would be pretty cool if we could find all of the Moxy & Flea episodes, some have been uncovered already.
This is pretty cool! But can we talk about the BFDIA jumpscare at the beginning- lmfao 0:27
Oh so it was always intended to make Fairly Odd a full series
I think the crows could be from the failed pilot 'Curbside'.
Edit: I looked it up, and yep, it is from Curbside.
You should make a video about lost media that was found on eBay
Wake up, see this just got posted. Guess I'll stay in bed a bit longer and watch
love the multicoloured swirls on the cover
The image of the Crows was from a planned Heckle & Jeckle revival called Curbside.
The "Cuffed Together" episode of TAB doesn't exist btw. Mitch and the others confirmed that.
Is there a PDF of this book?
I wonder if those hey Arnold spicy pictures was real
The thumbnail for this video is so cute
it would be funny if someone sent the 5$ and got something back
I wonder how many more of these yearbooks are there out there?
Since it has been 24 years since the first yearbook had been made, there has to be at least 24 years books made
@@TommoTheWhatever i dont think modern day nick would care enough about its employees to make yearbooks, specially with as much care as this one
@@aseldesu I don't know how many are made since it's hard to find info on these books, that's just my guess of how many possibly exists
being so early makes me feel like me and many others are actively seeing never before seen media on a big screen in some big theater. hey other early birds!
Blue Prints (Blues Clues) Pilot Has Been Found
Wow! A week ago already? I think I need to see this, please tell me if it's worth watching. I haven't seen Blue's Clues for almost 20 years. I'm a end of the '90s baby.
you should make a video about the 2005 Connecticut false evacuation warning,
I’m curious about the illustrators behind the Where’s Mark drawing.
The jokes at 7:34 would have been funny if Nickelodeon didn't have the reputation it has for some of the people they hired back then.
2:30 what’s your favorite king of fighters
A video on My Life as a Teenage Robot lost media would rock
Such a cool find man ❤
Hello! I just love your videos! is there any way I can contact you about a show pilot you have never mentioned before in any videos that I am extremely curious about that really want to discuss with you?
I hope you see this! Do you know if there existed a pilot episode of Danny Phantom which revealed how Danny got his powers? On the Danny Phantom Fanon Fandom Wiki, there is a page with a description of it, but I never hear(ed) anyone talking about it. Only in the comment section of an old video of someone claiming it existed, there are many people saying they remember it. Was there really a pilot or is this a rumor?
PS. I can't place links to the page and the video. Then RUclips removes my comment
"fanon" means that it's a fan canon, and is usually made up
we see how he gets his powers in the intro to the show, not the type of show that really needs a backstory episode
@@chiptunerat Aah okay, didn't know that, thanks!
@@usermcskull4713 Yeah, I know, and I agree with that, but if it should've existed, if would've been nice to see it.
I'm Excited to see whats in store in this video
I would like to be able to have my own Nickelodeon collection, it's something that I've been wanting to do along side expanding my transformers collection that I have (which covers up an entire glass cabinet at this point with multiple generations), but unfortunately I haven't the opportunity to do so.
Do you think you could make a scanned pdf of this thing? It would be cool to virtually be able to flip through it, ya know?
Usually the ads in the back of a school yearbook are paid ads that help to fund the publishing of the book. Maybe this was true of the Nickelodeon one too?
yo bfdia 6 cameo 30 seconds in, shout out to bfdi
0:29 LMAO, I literally just got into listening to New Pop Sunday & had no idea that there were demos, yet alone that they were lost. I know what I'm diving into after this video...!
Wait a minute. Why is BFDI doing here? Lol.
25:10 Actually, that's Heckle and Jeckle.
Ah, favorite year!
It's pretty interesting how this book only mentions Disney and not CN. Was this book around before it was even a thing??
Cartoon Network had already existed about 6 years(October 1992) before the book was distributed.
Nick had alot of live action programming and they saw Disney as more of a rival than CN. It fits with their "edgy underdog" tone they had back then, always trying to come off as anti-Disney, the opposite of that sterilized and corporate company.
Oh, the irony.
It’s lmpossible to work there now I’ve applied so many times
R.I.P Steve Hillenburg
Sorry no jokes in the word search. All the words are there.
I Remember Having This Somewhere When I Was 2, I Think It Was on My Shelf.
You ain’t bullshittin’ anyone my guy.

will this be scanned and uploaded anywhere for archival and viewing? if so, link?
i've never had in and out, there's no locations in FL. I've been to nickelodeon studios in Orlando though
in n' out is mostly in canada
We are in a Nickolodeon book arc
The cartoon bones were a comic book series. I remember when I was in 4th 5th 6th (I believe), they had had quite a bit of comics. idk. How many may be like 12 or more?
Telltale had an episodic Bone game too!
@@tobey7246 cool never knew that
Me and My Friends is a search I will always leave my eye one if there are new photos of it and new videos which will probably take a few months for the search team to get another photo it’s one of the most popular Nickelodeon lost media searches and there was surely someone in the backyardiagians crew that had to had some tape of it only the creator and nick are the ones who are theorized to have it but what if they contact one of the creators friends that we know of at the moment surely the creator should’ve told them about the pilot my best theories are through looking for the people who wrote and directed the pilot if only the search team got the tape then we could see it in full live action
So what's 1999 and 2000 year books like?😊
i recommend you scan this book.
ive seen that sponge vs spongebob image floating around online
Why did you have to show us that rule 34 SpongeBob book?
Because it’s a genuinely interesting look into the developments of the show
That was disturbing wtf
@@awesomeraf7851 And no one cared
Hello, Yearbook Nerd here. I’m amazed at the fact that Jostens (a yearbook company used by many schools) made this thing (atleast I can assume by the 3D glasses). I’m amazed
What does it mean by "six packs"?
do you not have a scanner? or are you using photos to preserve the spine?
Hey Thats Pretty Cool Congratulateions
Coming here to see the faces of the people who made my childhood 😊😊😊
1998 is the year that I was born
17:46 I read flick as fuck💀😭
Nickelodeon

WOOOOAH
What did he just say? at timestamp 1320.

i see spongebob and see "employee book" and i don't think good things
Oooo very cool
Interesting that the Rugrats aren't really in it
