Joker 2 aka Joker: Folie à Deux Review, if you're enjoying the video be sure to leave a like! Terrible film. Movie Description: From acclaimed writer/director/producer Todd Phillips comes “Joker: Folie À Deux,” the much-anticipated follow-up to 2019’s Academy Award-winning “Joker,” which earned more than $1 billion at the global box office and remains the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. The new film stars Joaquin Phoenix once again in his Oscar-winning dual role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, opposite Oscar winner Lady Gaga (“A Star Is Born”). “Joker: Folie À Deux” finds Arthur Fleck institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that's always been inside him. The film also stars Oscar nominees Brendan Gleeson (“The Banshees of Inisherin”) and Catherine Keener (“Get Out,” “Capote”), alongside Zazie Beetz, reprising her role from “Joker.” Phillips, who was nominated for Oscars for directing, writing and producing “Joker,” directed “Joker: Folie À Deux” from a screenplay by fellow Oscar nominee Scott Silver & Phillips, based on characters from DC. The film was produced by Phillips, Oscar nominee Emma Tillinger Koskoff and Joseph Garner. Lady Gaga served as music consultant. The film’s executive producers are Michael E. Uslan, Georgia Kacandes, Silver, Mark Friedberg and Jason Ruder. Working with Phillips behind the camera are his team from “Joker,” including Oscar-nominated director of photography Lawrence Sher, production designer Mark Friedberg, Oscar-nominated editor Jeff Groth, and composer Hildur Guđnadóttir, who won the Oscar for her work on the first film. New to the team is Oscar-nominated costume designer Arianne Phillips (“Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood,” “Don’t Worry Darling”). Ruder is the film’s executive music producer and the music supervisors are Randall Poster and George Drakoulias. Casting is by Francine Maisler (the “Dune” films, “Challengers”). Warner Bros. Pictures Presents A Joint Effort Production, A Film by Todd Phillips, “Joker: Folie À Deux.” The film will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, and will be only in cinemas nationwide on October 4, 2024, and beginning internationally on 2 October, 2024.
Thanks @Skycaptin5, I appreciated the review. It made me wonder if the creators were trying to be too real, trying to show us that the justice system after grand displays of chaps is slow and boring. But we all know that and thats not why we pay for entertainment. Anyway, keep doing these, you articulated it all very well. I’ll probably check it out when it’s on TV channels for free in the far future.
ya felt like people were desiring a review after my posting so thought I'd do one to see how it went. For the first Joker movie I did feel that it was a commentary on western mental health and how that's typically not handled the best for support structures and that people fall through the cracks. This one maybe you could say it's a look at the justice system, but I kinda feel like they didn't lean enough into that aspect after the first little bit of it. Felt more like they wanted to just hammer in that the Joker is a joke in a ways without spoiling anything. Disappointment, but I hope you do find some enjoyment from it watching on TV or streaming in the future, just hopefully not wasting money theatrically on it basically.
Bro idk why you’re going into those specific titles expecting them to be any good. For Beetlejuice and Joker, those movies having sequels should be a red flag right away lol And no way you expected Megalopolis to be any good lmao Good and bad movies have always came out, you as the audience and the one paying for tickets should do your due diligence. I can’t feel bad for you if you went into Joker 2 expecting it to be good, wasn’t supposed to even have a sequel. Don’t complain about “hollyweird” if you’re the one paying their bills without question.
Huge disapppointment. I love the original. Gritty and poignant. I cant really watch it again but it is a brilliant film. I was hoping they'd keep that spirit while getting lady gaga in there for some great music. She is legit. But to spit in the face of the original just baffles me but not really. Hollywood is stupid.
Thanks for the review. After I heard musical im like nah! That's just me though. The only musical type movie I liked was Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of fleet Street. Now that good.
nothing really happens, n that's saying ALOT, since not alot happens n the first one. if ur hoping for a scene as good as the dancing gun scene, ur gonna be really disappointed.
He made a barely watchable movie that insults the audience and now it’s tanking critically alongside getting complete apathy in the box office. Colossal failure of a film.

After watching this I'm going joker mode now
I would hope so, otherwise the last laugh would be on you!
Beetlejuice 2 sucked...Megalopolis sucked...Joker 2 sucked...Hollyweird has fallen.🥺
Oh I enjoyed Beetlejuice 2, it wasn’t mind blowing but I thought it were fun enough
@rayharvey1330 beetlejuice 2 was OK for a relaxed evening at the cinema but your right about the other movies.

I'm Still Excited to See It, But I Can Handle Your Opinion.
I hope you enjoy it more than I did

Nice review Cap. Hard pass for me.
many thanks, I was quite disappointed by this one, thought I'd save others their money on watching it...
It was amazing. I loved all of it
Thank you!
Keep up the reviews dawg
people seem to sort of like the movie reviews which is interesting.
Like left brother!
Yeah, ending was too gruesome! 😱‼️
It was just horrible
The film maker wants to upset and subvert the audience as a piece of "modern art".
He made a barely watchable movie that insults the audience and now it’s tanking critically alongside getting complete apathy in the box office. Colossal failure of a film.
Imagine going cluelessly to the movies expecting a fun, wierd picture like the first one..
Seriously, whoever thought a joker musical was a good idea is just…. Hard R word 😂
What a JOKE 🙂↔️
The real joke was on the audience! And myself I guess for buying a ticket...
This movie was so bad my god. I’ve should just kept playing Silent Hill 2. What a damn waste of time.
I tired to warn folks lol
