I think the thing I learned the most out of this episode is how AWESOME the saw is on a Swiss Army knife. I have one just like it and I've taken mine for granted. That little saw did a ton of work there. I know that Swiss Army Knives have a decent reputation but this video took it to another level. The one I have also has a little magnifying glass as one of the tools. I've never tried to start a fire with it but now I want to give it a try. It's fun to see how far less has come from the humble beginnings of the 1st episode. It doesn't seem that long ago but time flies. Thanks for allowing us to see your journey Les! I've learned a lot from all your adventures!
Loved your humor in this. I take it the network was not a fan. It adds the human aspect as well humility. 10.5 hrs to start a fire points out that even the skilled have real challenges to overcome. Thanks Les.
I don't think I could ever get tired of watching les stroud survivor man episodes! Watch them over and over and was really cool to see survivor man and son, watching you teach a little les(Jackob).
Survival when you're in REAL danger is scary, survival when you're challenging yourself but you know you have a safe out, is awesome! Something satisfying about the step by step process of setting up a base camp, stocking wood, gathering food and just planning out your steps. I suspect this is why survival games are so popular. Something in our need to settle, gather, hunt etc...
God I wish these videos and your channel have more views and subs. I was completely enamored with your show growing up. I really appreciated your realistic approach and advice. Your videos evoke the feeling of reading my favorite childhood book series, the first of which was titled the hatchet. I've never attempted to challenge myself by spending anytime out in bush country without safety nets, but I have attempted to practice skills you demonstrated. It's tough, and I am humbled. Your videos were also a welcome escape on deployment (thanks youtube premium for letting me download tons of videos) when I wanted to forget I was surrounded by endless metal. Hope you keep up this fantastic journey. I'll be watching.
The knowledge learned from watching these shows as a kid literally saved the lives of my family, friends, and I on one occasion, and myself and uncle many times. Thank you Les 🙏🏻🙌🏻💪🏻
I've watched less Stroud from the beginning. I was instantly a fan because I love outdoor survival stuff even though I don't do it myself. And I like how he showed survival in its truest form as if he was a regular person lost in the woods, not some expert. I also like how he gives achievable ways to survive and how he treats no two survival locations scenarios the same.
My daughter and I went to the national forest near our house this weekend, since it finally cooled off a bit, to play "Survivorman"! I love Les, my family used to say “if we ever hit the lotto, then we’ll pay Survivorman for an exclusive adventure with the legend himself.” He is someone I still watch to this day.
Thank you Les, for your hard work and your dedication.
Definitely one of my favorite shows. I use to always look forward to the new episodes each week. The good ole days!
Les is a survival genius. 5 star survival research documentary content.
This show should have won so many awards over every single season. It was revolutionary.
Loved your humor in this. I take it the network was not a fan. It adds the human aspect as well humility. 10.5 hrs to start a fire points out that even the skilled have real challenges to overcome. Thanks Les.
Les Stroud has always been an icon from my youth. I would love to meet him one day when I move to Canada to become a citizen.
Love these survivor shows! Keep em coming! 👏👏👏👍👍👍
I love survivor shows. Survivor man is still one of my favorite to binge so many years later.
Thank you for bringing reality to our televisions Les!
I would happily watch a remastered version of the whole catalogue of Survivorman one episode a week for the rest of my life. 👍
loving every second of this, feels like a whole new episode not a pilot!
I don't think I could ever get tired of watching les stroud survivor man episodes! Watch them over and over and was really cool to see survivor man and son, watching you teach a little les(Jackob).
Thank you Les for all your hard work over the years. Your show made me love the great outdoors
My daughter is 10 and we have been watching Mr. Les for the last 5 years together. I bought 'em all on amazon and we watch them over and again. Thank you , Mr. Stroud, for all the awesomeness! PS She started the fire all by herself with a flint striker!
You are so authentic and honest that’s what I always loved about survivorman. Me and my uncle used to spend quality time laughing at your mess ups lol. Not in a bad way, but it’s nice that you don’t make stuff up and keep it
Legit.
And here I was thinking I had seen every Survivorman episode ever. Thanks Les, you are a huge inspiration!
Im just as excited as i was when it first came out..thank you for all the uploads!!!
Survivorman has been my hero since I was 16 years old. My biggest regret was not entering that bring a fan along episode. Les- if you can see this. You’ve been my hero my whole life. Thank you.
First video I’ve consumed in 2022 :) What a way to start things off. As always, thank you Les for the hundreds if not thousands of hours education and entertainment. 👏
The grandfather of all Bush crafters. I have watched them all many times. Les Stroud is a true legend and a truly great Canadian.🇨🇦🇨🇦👍
A very interesting concept you could do is to critique your own methods of your earlier season. You have gained so much knowledge over the years and it could be an awesome learning journey for us viewers. I would rewatch every episode with extra commentary from you in the background. I feel like you have a different view of survival in the wilds now versus season 1
You obviously haven't watched the director's commentary's. That is exactly what he does.
The way your show is done definitely makes it the most unique out of all the similar shows that have been on TV
