I'd watch this. And his aim is to go and score some smack so he doesn't get sick, get a couple of 40s of OE, and drag a dirty mattress into an abandoned building before his crack high wears off
He did have an urban survival series I think in 2009. Not quite what you described though haha. I think it was geared more towards natural disasters in an urban setting
If you truly believe he's alone, you're on drugs. MANY episodes you will notice the camera wobbles because they forgot to edit the cameraman carrying the camera out.
@@altf4gaming637 dude, you might actually be on drugs. The man is/was 100% alone. You can verify this through any method of searching the internet. Why wouldn't you just give him props? @AltF4 Gaming the only time he wasn't truly alone was in India and that's just because there was a man eating tiger in the area and the local authorities wouldn't let him be out there without armed guard but they weren't allowed to help except security for his perimeter.
Best survival series ever. It was legitimately educational which is what made it so entertaining. Unlike other survival shows which are for pure entertainment & not educational at all (Naked & Afraid for example)
I grew up when both Survivorman and Man vs Wild were releasing new episodes on TV. The difference between the two couldn't have been more diffent. Instead of unneeded drama and reality like TV, Les showed what real survival was. Bear Grylls would show the average joe how to repel down a cliff with jungle vines and then dive bomb into a waterhole with your 20 team production crew.
One of the best TV series ever, hands down. Up there with The Sopranos, The Wire, Breaking Bad, etc This, Cowboy Bebop and The Sopranos are probably my favorite TV shows ever tbh
This was always my favorite episode! Was always stoked to see this as a rerun as a child. Im an adult now. So happy and nostalgic to see these. A simpler time, indeed.
The level of danger from wild animals depends on how difficult life is for the animal. If it has been a bad season without food the animals will take the risk of getting hurt to eat. Les Stroud put himself in places i never want to go.
This show always made me wanna be outdoors as a kid and now as an adult I can say that this show is part of the reason I love being outside in the wilderness
I think the sheer realism and the great personality of Les Stroud is what makes this show more appealing to me than something like Man V Wild. Thanks for all these videos, and props to you for posting your series on RUclips for everyone to see for free! Keep up the great stuff!
After I saw the video of Man V wild walking on some very stable lava right next to a highway here in Hawaii and playing pretend their in the middle of nowhere I really don’t like man v wild
Thank you Les! A Year ago I was in South Africa for a week. Magnificent beasts they have down there. Not really my cup of tea to survive among those things, amazing how you did it.
This episode really makes me appreciate the thought of carrying a gun basically at all times in nature. Partially for defense, but mainly for easy hunting.
@@illlllllllilillliilllliiii7155 You don't necessarily need to hunt big game with a gun. Shooting a rabbit is perfectly acceptable, and a million times easier than chasing or trapping it. And one decent sized rabbit is a solid meal in a survival situation.
@Jonas Smith most people carry 10mm for bears not all handguns are small caliber weapons or you could carry a small 44 magnum or even a 460 magnum or 500 people handgun hunt bears all the time with big bore handguns but the glock 20 chambered in 10mm is still small enough to carry all day and enough to take out big game
@Jonas Smith, what are you talking about? Hollow point ammunition is extremely common for handguns. Even the police use them because the bullet will stop in the target rather than traveling through and potentially hitting anything behind.
Back in the day when everybody was ‘Bear Grylls’…..I was always ‘Les Stroud’! Both awesome in their own right, but Les was truly alone. Thanks for the knowledge and the memories Les!😎
I’ve never seen those in any med pack, ever. Not even military. Too dangerous. Some of the stuff he shows isn’t realistic, but more for entertainment and the purpose of showing it can be done. Like when he found a brand new Brillo pad in the artic and connected to a new 12v battery to make fire.
@@DrEvil-os9dc That Brillo pad wasn’t brand new though. If you watch the extras on dvd he shows where and how he found it. It was actually pretty dirty too. The battery and steel wool is fairly common way to make fire; now the one that surprised me the most was his chocolate and coke can fire starter🔥
Growing up i had no friends and no hobbies and watched alot of tv and played alot of video games to pass the time and i remember having the first 2-3 seasons of survivorman on dvr and i remember when the show first aired getting hooked and watching it with my parents and actually trying some stuff bc i lived in the country. But by blotting them. There are nerve endings in the back of your neck that send signals to your brain telling it you need to warm up or cool down. In this instance the cloth in the neck makes the brain tell the body to sacrifice other organ functions to warm the core and vitals if left on or done to often for too long.

The plastic bottle is a great way to get rid of any intruders. You don’t want into your body, but it definitely doesn’t take away the fact that you’re putting plastic particles into your water by melting the plastic. Either way it goes. It still helps you from surviving situation and it’s great advice to give out. 🔥🔥🔥

In this show we can rightfully claim that Les was King of the Jungle.
Love shows like this. Once went camping and didn't bring any lighter fluid or a starter log and all I had was matches. Was able to make a fire with all the tips and tricks I learned from this show and impressed my entire camping group 😁

How is that possible?
After watching the other episodes, you can see how much Straud refrains from venturing too far from any of his setups. Any other location and he would be foraging for hours every day.
He has a lot of self control. I'd be popping off that air horn anytime I heard something growl, or even move. Also, people say don't try to climb a tree if you are being attacked by a lion, because the lion can climb the tree too. However, I say still do it. Then the lion can only come from one direction, and it heavily limits their attack options, since they need thier claws to climb. Getting up into a tree with a spear would be the best option, other than a firearm. Granted, you will probably still die, but that would increase your chances.
We need a Urban version of survivor man. Where he wakes up in an alley with nothing but a couple dirty needles, a spoon, and a poop covered blanket.
