Just got a Linksys AX1500 WIFI 6 router for $39 a few days before this video was released. I kinda trust Linksys more than TP-Link and like the setting menu better. I could be completely wrong to believe that and not an expert, so trust the expert.
@@techindex1 If I may suggest, make a video on WIFI 7 routers with comparison with 6 and 5. They are still new and expensive, meaning much higher payout from affiliate sales for you. And it's a new thing, so more people will search about them. Also touch on the mesh network topic, as I'm sure even less people know much about it. You're videos are very well put together and informative, but make sure they also sell you affiliate products. Linksys used to be great, but these days they're garbage. I've heard ASUS routers are the way to go these days if you're looking for an off the shelf all-in-one. My own personal preference is to build my own router using pf/opnSense and dedicated WAP(s). Much more flexible and reliable. Gives you the option to upgrade each individual component of the system independently rather than throwing the whole thing in the garbage and replacing it any time you want to upgrade any part of it. It's pretty much just as easy as setting up an off the shelf solution, and ends up being cheaper and easier in the long run to keep it up to date. You'll never again need to configure a whole new device just to upgrade your Wifi or link speeds or add new features. Trust me, it's the right way to go.
@@Zaphod0414 Asus are probably the third most popular brand on Amazon, which backs up your theory. But they are the most-expensive of the first 3 too. I guess for a reason. And since Linksys are currently the cheapest, that backs up your second theory that they are subpar. Building one myself is way above my head. I never came across tutorials for how to do it. Didn't even know that's possible. It's only easy for you because you know this stuff and have the time. But I personally wouldn't spend a week trying to figure it out and troubleshoot it, instead of buying one for $50.
We just got 100mbps fiber optic because we don’t need fast internet. We first agreed to lease ziply’s router with wifi6 but we have a linksys EA7450 lying around that we own. Does it really matter at this low of speed if we can get same internet speed in our townhouse? I’m thinking I just return the Ziply equipment. Thoughts?
At this kind of speed you're less likely to notice a difference in speed but you may notice the increased range if its a larger house. If you can I'd test out both before sending one back
Which WiFi standard do you use at home?
Wifi 6E
Wifi 4 + wifi 5
I didn't even know there was a difference. Due to this video I have seen we use WiFi 6 as 2.4 is currently set as frequency
Glad it was useful, thanks for watching as always!
I use WIFI 6 i see it under the signal icon on my phone. Its has a little 6 under it
Nice, wish I could see this in iOS without going to settings
Yeah, it's really nice how samsung phones show the little 6 on the wifi icon if you're connected to a wifi 6 router.
It's Not just Samsung mate, but yea it's nice.
Your wifi router link doesn't work but great video! Your other videos are great too. Subbing!
Thanks I really appreciate that! Will sort out the link 😊

Wow that’s a great deal! Yes the user interface is much easier to navigate on Linksys routers I find

Have you tested it. I do have the same scenario as like @jeff_yeom. Thanks in advance.
Former isp tech for whatever reason I tend to get faster results on a 5.0 ghz band vs 6.0 when im next to the moden .
probs bc it isnt swapping bands properly between 2.4 and 5G?
Just FYI in Romania the 10GBps it’s coming to our houses this year so yeah WIFI 6 it’s the way to go😂
Wow! What’s the price on that? In the UK 1Gbps is considered pretty good
@@techindex1 it will be about 10€ per month with a 60€ installation tax😂
No wifi7 ?
That will be covered in an upcoming video 😊
Router too expensive
5 is old tech. Get 6E 😮
why
@aarlos12 WIFI 7 is the new standard. 6E is almost 3x faster than 5. The cost of 6E is comparatively low.
@@app1mxh ok
@@app1mxh thanks
for some reason... wifi6 is worse than 5g... both in download speed and even viewing youtube or loading.... want to switch back now
