Lost Rivers Fishing - November Fishing Report (Week 1)

I am way overdue for this and am now on my brown trout water. It's been a very hectic two weeks. Conditions have been changing very quickly which you should keep in mind.

Spent 5 days at Albany Medical recently with a subdural hematoma thinking I would miss the fall steelie push on the SR (& of course happy to be alive) & you just told me different! Best fishing news I’ve heard in a while. If I can stand on my feet for an hour, here and there I’m getting my boots wet. As always thanks for the reports. Make sure we get some brown pics!

Good to hear you're doing better. I definitely understand your plight. I struggled through salmon season, Three years ago, While fighting stage III cancer and Going through chemo. The Thought of missing a season was more than I could stand.

Very little rain this fall. Low waters def caused a shortage of kings and a shortage of trout following behind to eat the eggs and spawn. Still fish just less than last year imo. Good luck out there jay! Catch some bigguns! 🐟🎣

I’ve always ever fished skagit heads even in low water, spooky situations but tempted to try scandi even tho probably getting a little late for the season but I bought an airflo rage which is supposed to be sort of a mix like a scandit. I didn’t need to go too light and nice of a presentation for a traditional or normal scandi and my current skagits pretty clunky. Have you ever fished a airflo rage? And for scandi are you almost always using single Spey and snake roll? I plan on getting at least a 5 and 7 inch per second poly especially since winters almost here

Hey Jay, do you think I could get into a decent number of salmon if I go up this next weekend? I just heard from Oak Orchard Lodge that they have some green salmon coming in, and that there are a decent number at the Dam.

It could be possible, But at this point The salmon are becoming very inconsistent And they do not Last long.

The Trout fishing here on my home river here in CT is running right now at 18 cfs. Its very very low. The cool over night temps are a help but it's tough. The West Branch of the Farmington is fishing better but that is 1hour and 20 min drive for me. So Its not surprising that its the same situation for you. I have a NY fishing license. So I may take the drive.
