- Determining the composition of your soil or what soil type you have is actually pretty easy with this simple DIY test. In this video I will show you how to build your own Soil probe, a tool used is extracting soil samples from your lawn. I will also be showing you how to do a quick and easy soil test so you can know what's in your soil and start dominating your neighbors.

Soil test are awesome! I use them to adjust my lawn care plans accordingly. Great stuff.
Ahhh beat me to it my friend... I have footage for a forthcoming soil texture video, haha no worries... awesome job, love the official LDD mason jar, the funk while you shook it, and the ragtime music while it settled. Most of all that homemade probe was OUTstanding!! May very well make one, thank you....

Great video but I’m confused about why you used the nail? I know you mentioned why but for some reason I’m still confused? Can you please explain it to me again? I’m so sorry I didn’t understand and frankly I feel stupid asking. Thank you, sir! I’ve like and thumbed for a great video!
I use it to push the core up so I could grab it out of the channel in the soil probe. When it come to lawn care, there are no stupid questions. Thx for the support.
@@TheLawnDaddy thanks so much, The LawnDaddy!! I am going to Home Depot and buying the parts. I believe the material is going to cost me less than $5 because I already have the cement PVC glue. You just saved me $50 dollars. Thank you, sir!!
Anytime, you might wanna buy extra and make 2 at different lengths, see what works best for you....and make sure the ground is soft when pulling up cores.
