You can always try raking it up, it grows on the surface so it's pretty easy to remove. You can overseed the area in the fall and hope the grass will choke out and Moss from coming back.

Thank you for this excellent option. My front yard is difficult to water because it is over 100 ft wide and 60-70 ft deep with trees and natural areas. I don't think running hoses along the perimeter is practical in my case, along with the problem of reduced water pressure along a long line and not reaching the middle area. I currently try with tripod sprinklers but with hoses across the yard! Maybe I can use a partial version of yours as part of the system. Thanks.

Buffalo guy here (Go bills). Assuming you’re in Buffalo as well - I made the stupid mistake of not picking up a section of leaves in our back yard which resulted in a good size bare spot. None of the grass survived in this roughly 5x8 area. Is there a specific type of grass seed/approach you’d recommend for this time of year in Buffalo? Thanks again, very much appreciated!!

Go Bills. I'm a die hard Bills fan but I live in Canada, I would try a Rye grass cause it's a cool season grass. Once you throw the seed down, try covering it in a thin layer of peat moss.

I think your video is excellent. Unfortunately, for me, I live in Florida. A lot of that stuff can work, but obviously by virtue of the climate, some of it didn’t really apply for my region. I live in South Florida, which is really hot. Just through experience, a failure and some successes and you are right about expectations, for us, Floridians or anybody in the warmer climate I would recommend every single thing that you just said, except one really hard problem we have here and I still haven’t figured out the solution other than good old-fashioned hand pulling, while we’re watering the seeds, the weeds are growing faster than the seeds are germinating and it is so horrible. I just pulled what I can pull and hope for the best are we here are mostly broadleaf meaning they grow out into the grass like a vine, so it’s not as easy as just pulling a weed that grows vertically. To oversee the lawn, you really gotta be committed definitely rake that up because it aerates, and like you said, allows, the seat to lay out the soil so we can germinate more. You gotta be consistent with the watering, Fertilized twice in the summer, pre-emergent One one thing I’ll add, you have to also treat your lawn for insects, here in Florida. We have grub and they eat the weeds of the roots of the grass, the grass dies, and that’s how the weeds at least one of the way the weeds infiltrate treating the grass for insects and grubs, you also protect your pets from blaze and ticks, and it also deter moles from coming to your lawn because that’s what they eat so you’re cutting off their food supply and you’re allowing the grass roots to grow and get deeper and healthier. Sorry for such a long comment, I thought your video was excellent and thank you for sharing that with all of us, I subscribed. I’ll just apply. Also, your son, the Grass kid is adorable.
