Im 24 and fighting lust as well. Keep fighting you can do it. I never knew what a healthy relationship was until i started going to church and saw real men leading the church and their families. Get around people who are further in the battle than you, Its absolutely necessary for you to grow. Keep praying to God and ask him to save you from the grip of this sin. God bless you.

that is debatable since not all (like myself) believe in god and it's up to us to decide if we have faith in god. doing that will probably urge more students to simply follow the rules without deciding. i agree however to the idea of teaching control of emotions such as this at school just out of religious context
Why oh why do more churches not discuss this? Why are people silent about the demands of God in my church? Why is the preaching so weak? I'm no saint either, who am I to complain really. I remember seeing an athletics competition on TV recently, have you ever considered why the athletes, (more so the women), are scantily clad? This is how the poison of sexual immorality is slowly fed to you. No one walks up to you and offers you pornography in broad daylight, (I would leave such a place, if something so dire were to happen, and not likely return). No, what will happen, is you'll be offered, say, a newspaper; with pornographic images in it. Or, a movie; with pornographic scenes in it. Or, a seemingly benign athletics competition, since sport itself is nothing wrong, but ah, there will be sensuality there too. So you won't fly head first into pornography, but you'll be titillated first, lusts will be riled up in 'normal' places, and eventually will lead to porn use, this was the trend with me as well, when I did not fear God and had no knowledge of Him. But by His grace and His Spirit, we are lucid now to these traps, sexual immorality will literally destroy you, if it is not destroyed. I'm two weeks away from pornography now, this is where the rubber usually meets the road, it was in the past my breaking point, but God has sustained me, and taught me valuable lessons through stiff discipline, I am still learning. Godspeed brothers and sisters, I love you all. Let us put on Christ and become living sacrifices that display the surpassing worth of Christ in this world.

Amén brother! We ought to walk worthy of the path we were called to. I fell to porn and masturbation just 3 days ago, and everytime I fall it just feels like a greater pit every time. Like a dog returning to his own vomit. I find myself in this cycle of 1 or 2 months of freedom and then I fall. But I know Christ is greater than this obstacle in my life, and there will be a time where I will be free forever. God says that there is a way out of the problems we face, and that He hasn't put anything in front of us that we cannot handle. Knowing this, we are given an assurance that triumph does and will exist. We just have to let the Holy Spirit guide us and we have to cling to God as innocent children. We are bound by righteousness! Not slaves to sin!! May our Heavenly Father guide us and each and every person struggling with this! In Christ Jesus, Amen!

I too experience the same thing you did where it feels like almost no place is safe, I really watch tv partly because of this reason. I remember saying to my mum how my eyes have to do so much gymnastics to avoid seeing things that could stir up these passions. My desire is for God to make me strong like Paul where these things would have no effect on me.

The problem here is that you're treating lust as if it's some sort of function that we have no control over. In reality, lust (which is coveting) is a conscience choice to desire that a woman be your wife, which is NOT sinful unless that woman is already married to someone else.

Erik, it's true that lustful temptations exist in many places. But the truth is that, like with other sins, one must reorient their heart and mind to Jesus Christ. God isn't going to shield you from anything that might cause you to lust; you will always see and hear sexually immoral things in today's hypersexualized society. What God wants is for you to be able to see these things and handle them appropriately. This involves reorienting the heart and mind, surrendering to , following etc. Him.
