I purchased this model while on sale recently. It is just amazing as a home server. This is not a gaming PC. But for non-gaming, normal PC type activities, it really shines. It is totally silent and so so small. Love it.
I appreciate you sharing your experience. I also still have it in my possession and I use it as a secondary PC to browse and download stuff from the Internet that I don't want to download on my main desktop PC. So I use it like a safe testing buffer to avoid malware and bad stuff coming onto my main PC. I have no account information on it only an antivirus program so malware has nothing to steal. Good Talk🤓
This is one of the best reviews that I have seen of this mini pc. I love my Raspberry Pi's. I have the model B of every one back to the first one. But, unless you need one for an electronics project, they're just not worth it anymore. This is what you want for emulation, a media device and a general purpose computer these days. I can't believe how much you get for sich a low price. I already bought something better, a GMKTEC M7 but I will likely pick up one of these just to mess around with. Beelink is the best at the budget mini PC. I have a couple that are ten years old and still work. They're just too underpowered now.
One of the best reviews for this n100 machine. I have been looking at them all week, but i am most likely going to get a 5800u instead . The Beelink is very tempting though!
I have loved the N100 since it was introduced and for me is the best value processor released this year. That read speed on the M.2 seemed very low, especially compared to it being half of the write speed. In the Beelink range, the EQ12 is better, albeit more expensive. That Chrome OS Server installation with the setting of individual Android apps as running in a rooted environment deserves a new installation guide as it looks very attractive.
Beelink is one of the best for mini PC but this one has a mix bag of tricks.. Android running on this would be interesting to see...thanks nick..awesome job as usual...😁😁😁👍👍👍
this is what I wanted to see, 4k video playing works, it will be great with multiple chrome tab running and switching, playing 4k at youtube, temperature of cpu when in load. its okay without gaming and video editing, its not what this pc is build for
I'm considering buying this mini PC, but I have a few questions first. Can it run VMware Workstation to allow me to use multiple operating systems? How well does it perform with virtualization (benchmarks)? Would this be suitable for running a Linux distro through dual boot or via VMware Workstation?
@@tvboxstopI'm intending to operate both a Linux distribution and a Windows system on this compact PC. Have you noticed any performance slowdown when dual booting? 😊
I have not attempted dual booting only booting from a separate drive and the performance with Ubuntu /Android x86, FydeOS as fast performance to higher clock speeds compared to Windows.
Great review! But would love to know where you got all those test videos to test out various forms of surround sound. Are the publicly available somewhere?
Now they are not publicly available, and I hold them close to my heart because they are difficult to get. The site that host those files was shutdown by Dolby for copyright infringement.
This looks interesting! I'm very new to these mini PCs, I've got a tower PC for my gaming use. However, my parents need a new PC for basic tasks like web browsing, using word/excel etc. No gaming, RUclips. Do you reckon this is fast enough for this usage without being sluggish? This S12 Pro is also without a fan cooling?
Yes this is a very good Mini PC for that purpose and even more. Coincidentally currently I have this exact model on my desk along with my gaming PC to browse the web in places that I do not want to use my gaming PC with my personal info on for security reasons.
Under Linux /Android x86/Chrome OS and others it defaults to the boost clock speed. Under Linux however due to its many advanced features you will be able to control the behavior of the CPU.
Yes you are right you can. Under Android x86 you would have root access and you can install a kernel governor and adjust the CPU governor. I am not sure how it works under Linux
Also I reached out to someone at Beelink and they did not mention this exact particular unit is upgradable to 32 GB ddr5 4800 they only mentioned the 16GB ddr4 3200 and I'm just wondering if you know more about this computer then he did which is totally possible
According to Intel who created the chipset listed on their website that's what the board can support. I also discovered a 32-bit LP DDR4 RAM module that will work on this model.
Thank you so much for the reply and the professional response I had a feeling this guy I was talking to didn't know what he was talking about it was a get help link on Amazon

Thanks for sharinng. I really enjoyed reading your commennt
I've bought one a few months ago and use it like a small home server on Debian. Work like a charm and consumption of 6-7W is perfect for 24/7 usage
Yes the truth is with me I am more interested in alternative operating systems that its Windows OS. Thanks for sharing

The Android x86 developers seem to be behind on development due to unavailable kernel for 12Gen. Thanks for watching

I cannot speak to VMware workstation but I can tell you that Linux distro on dual-boot or separate hard drive works really well.

Does anyone know if it does the idle and boost clock change on linux as well or is this windows exclusive?

Well the reason why I'm asking is because I purchased this at 8 gigs and I was looking to upgrade it but I wasn't sure where to go and how high
If you're willing to share which 32GB ddr4 I'd be interested to know
A good review a nice little PC at the price your the best nick.👍
Thanks 👍
