With a rapidly growing economy did you check well if our economy is growing why is our naria reducing in value and bro $1000 dollar donation lol your camera cost more but I guess $1000 towards education is a nice tin cos not many students can afford to be in school right now
Harry you’re a great man. You’ve done what most can never do. Going places showing the world and helping the needy. I salute you brother. I’m from Cameroon a neighboring country to Nigeria. I learn a lot from you, your kind heart, may God bless you
I love how harry has turned his channel into something more than travelling he's spreading awareness and tackling down the unjust claims by media love his work
Nigeria's economy, environment, and medical care are in urgent need of improvement, as are education and infrastructure in the future! It was so touching to watch Harry interacting with the children! Maybe the United Nations should ask Harry to be its ambassador and help them there! In any case, your good deed this time has become a part of Nigeria's history! Thanks a lot for sharing, you did a super great job! 👍😍👏
Many vloggers went there and donated some money but the situation hasn't changed. I have seen the chief's son many times in most vlogs. They have a tv ps2 claims to be second hand watches Indian tv series.
I so much appreciate that Harry, took his time to visit Makoko, to give us an update of their school/orphanage project that they started about two years ago thanks to @indigotraveller, another RUclipsr. But I can’t help but to caution people about donating to projects without asking relevant questions and knowing details to any projects first, making sure the plans for the project would actually go through when we donate. Also to make sure to know that the reason why you are donating matches the reason why they are raising funds. The same person that is showing Harry around had told us two years back, they’re raising funds to help homeless children, it doesn’t look like that now. We were told to donate to help Makoko build an ORPHANAGE CENTER because the CHILDREN HAD NO PLACE TO SLEEP. Fast forward to this year, THE SAME GUY DIDN’T SHOW US an ORPHANAGE CENTER. What THEY SHOWED US was a school, that I take it is A PRIVATE SCHOOL, which is a business. The government didn’t build this school, people of the internet did. Which is great, but if you consider that most PEOPLE probably donated because they THOUGHT THEY WERE HELPING HOMELESS CHILDREN, that’s why they donated, it’s a shame. They never showed us these shelters. They never showed us where the children sleep or where they eat. So, make sure before you donate, the reason why you’re donating matches with their reason for fundraising.
Thank you for showing the world how basic medicine is needed! Please continue your journey to help us remember to help others every day. Education is the key to improving lives ❤ your content and attitude towards all people of the planet!
All these videos I have watched from Harry has inspired me to travel other places around the world, and learn what's out there. Thank you Harry. Your channel influences me to travel more and learn life outside the U.S.
words fail me Harry! Incredible work...lovely people...I was also once in Nigeria, and it was the most fulfilling business trip I ever had! May God keep protecting you and blessing you!
I like you guys to know that Makoko is not a recognized settlement and many times, the government had tried to resettle them away from the waters but they always refused because their ancestors, who were fisherman, had been there before Nigeria was created. Thus, they are left on their own because you cant bring down a place that is ancestral to a people.
They are recent migrants from Dahomey. They came after the independence in the 1960s to join with thr earlier settlers of Ilaje fishermen. The area was discovered by the Ilaje fishermen and Egun. It was a fishermen camp thst have now grown into a community occupied by foreigners from Republic of Benin and Togo.
Please consider portraying Makoko and Nigeria more thoughtfully in your vlogs. While it's important to showcase diverse areas, remember to research government interventions aimed at improving such settlements. It's essential to understand that no government would willingly allow its citizens to live in harsh conditions like this one . However, the residents of Makoko often choose to stay because of their deep-rooted connection to the island, requiring the government to act delicately. Also, the pollution in the waters is largely due to overpopulation. There are other water-based communities in Nigeria that do not look anything like this one . I encourage you to explore and highlight these areas as well.
Thank you Harry for sharing your experience unbiased and for supporting people with cash through tips, change& donations .........."Na Man You Be"💯 It la slang in Nigeria that basically means you are a real man& good person.
It would be nice if the slums could be at least cleaned up. Like everyone cleans after their own household or a fine. Because this amount of rubbish is nothing to do with poverty but laziness. I know, people are going to say, how can they remove garbage when they don't have a disposal system. Then organize one. Each house goes to a designated spot to where it's collected daily and removed to another designated place.
Yeah good point. I guess there might be a gap of education beyond what we consider "common sense". In this scenario I'd assume some of them are struggling just to survive. As a matter of principle, setting a standard and being a role model is key. People need someone to look up to.
This is so amazing to see you in this slum. Good job Harry, This also makes me feel so privileged and thankful to life being so much easy and comfortable.
The children and the adults are all so humbling. They have nothing but give so much back. Years ago I did volunteering work teaching in Ghana and I came home so much wiser learning from the local people.
I love what you doing! I actually love Nigerian Culture after visiting I started a charity S2SA trying to help the children in the slums communities in Physical health and wellbeing… THANK YOU FOR THIS
Harry i was so pleased to see you had a new video, Once again you have shown us places nobody goes to. It was hard to see how they are living but the kids and school that welcomed you was so cool. The dancing and joy those kids still showed even tho they live in those conditions was heart warming.

这个人手里拿着iPhone钱就是从这些劝捐里来的,所以捐款改变不了他们,因为钱都进了他们口袋里
This is so tragic and depressing, the Nigerian govt are a complete disgrace.
People like these need help but Nigeria is not all about the slums and the markets he has visited.
They don’t want to leave the place and the place is not in the master plan of Lagos State. It was a makeshift area.
Thank you Harry for showing this and realising that we should appreciate whatever we have..
much love!🙏🙏
