A Nigerian here. I served in northern Nigeria for 17 years. I used to go to watch these young men fight. Man, those guys are dangerous. Harry was brave; even as a soldier, I wouldn't go up against them on my own. Well done, Harry. You earned yourself a new subscriber.

Of course, I'm aware that dambe fighters are vulnerable to long range kicks, like from taekwondo and karate, but believe me, there are top of the range fighters who have incorporated modern martial arts into their routines.

That took some balls mate. The entire situation before the fight itself could have gone wrong at any point. To have the courage to then get into the ring, after all of the intimidation just before it… incredible. I’ve just done 10 days of Muay Thai training but was still a long way off sparring, so this is mad. I’m not sure that I’m ready for a trip to Kano just yet! Bali will do for now

He said he had never boxed, maybe they agreed to a fake fight but due to the language barrier there was a misunderstanding, or just a Nigerian who wanted to feel like the best. It is clear that he did not expect the strong blows to the face, and even less so with his back turned.
