one of the main reasons i keep re-watching your vids is how you approach your editing and what you do/don't show in your videos. so many people only wanna show perfection and a perfect product, but you show all the bits and pieces of your own development with the situation... that's cool man. too many people focused on being perfect... integrity is much more appealing.
It sucks that you can t sync these to your tv display without a laptop or can they be synced with an iPad? ... seems this only works for gamers. I would love to be able to run ithem behind my 77” Oled when watching movies😍
Hi, how should i place them in the back of my monitor? Should I place them on the stand and left right or on the middle back of the monitor slightly to the left and right? I have an ultra wide 32 inch monitor
Your are the first which mentions the cable. I was kinda baffled they didnt do anything about that. I noticed in all videos the cable goes out the side.and since it comes out at the back there is stress on that cable i guess. Perhaps a hole in the mount would work nicer or a inset or so
It connects the lights to your local network and the internet. The Play Bars use Zigbee which avoids causing Wi-Fi congestion, to connect to the bridge which plugs in with ethernet to your router. It makes them very reliable.
I might ask stupid but i just bought these..do i need the bridge thing in order to use these for light up my games ? I never had any of these phillips things
Got some of these on the way from overseas, thanks for the tip and fairly close look at the stands possibly crushing them, looks like there's enough room for me to be able to drill a hole in the stand to feed the cable and power connectors through
What devices are on the left and right side of the mouse pad? One shows the current time and not sure what the other one is showing. I appreciate your response.
You can’t do any fading effects on the Phillips hue but I don’t mind it that much but if you do I believe you have to pay with apps that are compatible with phillips hue
Hello TechBlock So i bought a pack with 2 of these lights and i followed the setup. Now they both do light up and i can change colour and set scenes. But one of the lights wont change colours when i play games or watch videos. Both of the lights blinks when i listen to music, but game and video is no go...do you think its broken ? Also they realy dont light much up ingames..im disapointed in quality
mathias sørensen Hue sync is for everything but razor specific stuff. Razer and Hue collaborate on this so for razor hardware, hue and the games to work together, there's no other way than to use razer's software. You can use Hue Sync to sync the hue lights to your gaming, but it'll do nothing for your keyboard or mouse rgb. The idea of this video was to show the integration between the lights, the rgb in the razer products and the games. Just using Hue Sync would be less effective. For everyone who doesn't own any Razer hardware, it is indeed best to use Hue Sync.
Abul Quamer you can't unless you buy a philips ambilight TV. Philips offers a hue sync app, which does exactly what you're looking for, but most content providers (Netflix, Amazon, iTunes, etc.) won't allow the app to capture the video stream because of DRM. They see it as some screen capturing app and block all video as soon as it's activated. There are a few phone apps that use the camera as a sensor and send back to the hue bridge what they are capturing. But you can no longer use your phone when doing this, as you have to keep it pointed at the screen capturing as much of the screen as possible. These apps also add a ton of delay and aren't very accurate. The only option is to use a computer, illegally download content, play it through vlc or whatever player and run Hue sync at the same time. Hook up the computer to your TV, mirror display et voila. 45mins after you wanted to watch The Last Jedi you've finally gotten it all set up. Oh wait... if your TV's resolution is pretty high, you'll need a decent graphics card in your computer to support mirroring say 4k content over HDMI. And if your cables aren't up to spec, you'll get shit image quality and you'll simply turn everything off and go to bed. (Trust me, I've spend weeks trying to get this to work perfectly) So, again, there's no real way to do this at the moment. Hopefully Philips gets more and more partners like Razor and the content companies to work with them. But unless you have a philips ambilight tv you are very limited in the content that allows you to achieve this. I can't understand why they show very little interest in improving this, and neither do I understand why they haven't opened up the ambilight platform to Hue. Because even if you have an ambilight tv, only the built in led's will work in unison with the video. There currently is no way to let ambilight and hue (2 Philips products, which try to achieve the same thing really) talk to each other. It's frustrating as a heavy Hue user, but it is what it is at the moment. Hue sync does work well with audio, which is a godsend after having tried all the disco-style apps which don't appear to do more than play some random lightshow. The technology is there, it's available to Hue customers at no extra cost. It's down to philips to get content providers to work with them. Oh and finally (sorry for the rant) only buy the latest Hue products, even if they are capable of 16 million colors. Older products aren't truly entertainment-area capable, or at least their firmware isn't.
I got the play bar got the hue bridge free in a bundle.. I stuck it behind the monitor but I wanna adjust the way I put it.. But I can't take it off the 3mm vhb adhesive is super strong.. Any ideas how to take it off without breaking the monitor?
Love the setup, all the lights look fantastic. I was thinking about getting the LED strip at some point but I might save up for a pair of these instead.
I would like some lights to make my room cosy. (And not to copy the lights of my screen like on a tv). Can I use it for that? Because now I have the Philips Hue Iris, i think and I just want the lights more divided over the room.. Let me know what you think please, or anyone in the comment section :).

Do these play bars require a "hue bridge"?
if i get em, will i have to pay 60 more dollars to control the light and color for them in the mobile app?
Do you need the bridge just for those 2 lights?
Where is the 480p?
What is the monitor mount that you are using in your setup?

I like the hue software but the price is just insane I got over 60ft of rgb strip lights for less than my 3m section of hue lights. Awesome review.
Can i plug a hue light strip to the brick ???
Merry Christmas Hue Lights! Best present I bought for myself. 👍
Did you buy a bridge sir?
Hi, thanks for the video, can you please tell me which one has stronger light? the light bar or strip light ?
Can’t control both to be one color at the same time?
Where did you get that clock on the desk from
Should I get strips or the light bar
Are these bars worth the money? or would you recommend another option for some fancy lightning behind the screens :)
Hey,
Do these two bars work on Tv without having Hue bridge?
You need the bridge for any accessory

use the sticky pads that come with them and stick them to the back towards the sides of the monitor, theyre amazing though
What is the length of the cable
Is there a cheaper alternative to this? I don’t need it to connect with google or anything.
would you be able to use this without a bridge?
Philips Hue are so addictive, I have a small room yet 5 products XD
What kind of unboxing knife is that? Is very cool, do you have the link for it?
I bought it from FadeCase

How do you put blue tooth on them..?🥺
What sound bar do you have? Ive been in the market for one to accommodate my dual screen setup but can't find one I like
Back at it again with a banger viedo
Love the video. Maybe use the double sided tape and stick them to the back of your monitor.
I thought there would be a Star Wars lightsaber battle lol
