I love Vermont and hunted in the town of Jamaica. Its been years and your video got me thinkin of the good time at camp. I hope to get back to VT next year and spend a week or more with my son chasing deer. Great video of the way life should be. Thanks

If you wanna keep deer camp alive , for heaven's sake make babys , your future , your posterity is at stack... Have kids , teach them sportsmanship , riflemanship , and bring ' em to hunting camp. that will keep the dream alive . Posterity is the heart of the hunting camp . CHEERS .....

Got to love that old 88 Winchester,,I have one in 308 and have had it many years ,, bought it from a man who did not hunt but bought it new in Germany during his service , and brought it back with him to the states.

Higher Elevations l love them too but mine froze up one time and would not fire and the trigger was frozen , cost me a big 8 pt buck. Mine has four rifles inside the barrel and it is as smooth as glass ,,no Pitts or rust ever and it is 100 percent like brand new ,, a 1963 red letter

I really enjoyed the video and the history behind your camp. I loved your dads toast at the beginning with the PBR. Don’t ever let those traditions die! I can’t believe how things have changed in our hunting territory. Camps that would be full of guys for the entire 9 day Wisconsin season are now mostly shut down after opening weekend. It’s seems like most guys just don’t have the time or make the time to stay. Some of my greatest memories in life occurred at camp. I hope the day never comes that I have to decide whether or not to go because of health reasons. Anyway, keep the vids coming. Only about 5 months till gun deer season !
Thanks Dan! Yes, deer camp is a sacred place. We hope we can keep the tradition alive. Unfortunately upkeep slips away from our priorities and the mice & squirrels begin to take over. @@HigherElevations you're welcome. Consider me a new sub. I recently read there are too many deer up there and not enough hunters. Unfortunately I live 2,000 miles away and the opposite is true here.
@@Redevil667 Thank you for the sub! Well, in certain parts the State that might be true but definitely not where we are. You're lucky to see/shoot a buck. It's slim pickings and everyone and their hunts.

So I just discovered you're videos, and about a month ago I was trying to come up with a cool "hunting themed" license plate, I reside in Maine and have been hunting "Higher Elevations" so I came up with "HYR-ELV" as my new plate and now I feel weird that you have a camp by this name! So im repping your hunting camp now and didn't even know it! HAHA

@@HigherElevations YES Awesome, .308 my FAVORITE! used sense i was 8 and downed everything it hits! people now are so stuck on 6MM or even 6.5 for distance shooting, and claiming better than the .308 or even the -06......NO WAY! Not for hunting in VT anyways! .30 Cal All The Way!!!
