@@kena4977 people will do anything and everything so they can spam HE from irrelevant positions whilst the enemy DD takes caps right in front of their face until they're the last remaining because of the kiting spamming playstyle. They want the others to play the objective whilst they move up stars regardless of their team play. If you can burn fires through a BBs 4 heals for damage you're top on the leader board
Not necessarily, for example if you are playing DD, it's usually more worth it to take the cap then to do meaningless damage. Even if you are losing, you still need to do significant amount of damage, if you don't want to lose a star. However if you cap by yourself, then in some games that is enough so you don't lose the star.
Would love to see a rundown of how to play the French line with no smoke in ranked. Been loving Le Fantastic, but have not dipped my toes into ranked yet.
I'm so glad to see this guide, I try to play ranked this way conceptually and it's nice to hear you agree with me. I do get tilted by how bad my teams will fail over and over again since I rarely save a star (mostly only capping xp). However, I have also eaten a few torps as the only DD (super stupid, I know) and essentially doomed my team so... "you can't trust your team." I've been playing Lightning because it doesn't get paired with a black as all t9 dds seem to, but I end up feeling impotent against bbs late in the game if I have to hard carry, so Fletch might be better.
So if early DD engagements won are the key to winning, you'd think more cruisers would pitch in early to achieve this. As a DD main, typically my cruisers are off somewhere else at this key time
I'm not very experienced but I'm often finding I have 0 support from any team mates when find destroyers.. I main destroyer currently tier 6.. its very hard it seems atm without support from cvs helping in destroyer engagements, does this change much after t7?
I took the Neustrashimy for this ranked, picked up 80% WR. The key is staying alive and providing the spotting like you said. With the super heal this ship carried so hard . Was said when I hit the Tier X's as I couldn't play it anymore
I take incoming fire alert instead of preventive maintenance. fletcher has 5 turrets so losing one isn't a big deal. Damage con is only 40 seconds so you get your gun, torps or engine back very quickly after you "get them back immediately" on it's initial usage. Fletcher is plenty dodgy to cause misses when incoming fire alert goes off and dodging prevents needing maintenance in the first place as well as retaining HP. "Just a thought" from a run and gunner that dodges via incoming fire alert whilst being totally focused on the DD that I'm gunning down/fighting with. Cheers!
@@EvoraGT430I disagree, It's when my IFA goes off that I perform a dodge maneuver. this allows me to track straight to keep up my maneuvering speed. also if multiple ships are shooting at me it lets me know exactly when to dodge and how many times. As a successful open water Pan Euro DD player, I use it extensively.
When u use flags do they work like consumes as in they each get used up for each battle or do they stay with the ship untill the ship get destroyed in battle?
I think it is a poor idea. In theory I like it but a DD that spends all game spotting for his team that hide behind islands and farm damage will allow team to win and yet be lowest xp.
staying near your team to deal with hybrid BBs is kinda a waste of time. Their planes are substantially more resistant to AA fire than supercarriers (ive seen AA bubbles of a dalarna double gouden all built for AA wipe United states squads before they get within short range AA but only do a little over a quarter damage to Louisiana squads), and if you are near your team as a DD, you will get spotted and dev struck if the hybrid is paying attention. Your generally better off trying to keep some distance from you and whatever the Louisiana may be going for in my experience
First of all I want to say i really love and appriciate your videos, but since this is guide I wanted to point out couple of things that were IMO mistakes. In first battle you totally wasted smoke vs Minnesota, you knew he gets shot out and hes next salvo max 35 secs later, just turn out smoke and farm after that. On Hot Spot please dont advice people to reverse in, just go straight in behind that island, you are super safe there and you take lot of damage if you get radared reversing in.
@@Cloudman572 enemy has to really push to get you out of that island. I might be too much in random ranked battle mode here. In clan battles going in was only countered by top hurricane clans and even then dd usually trated
I recommend brawling or tanked to help learn. Your facing less ships so it’s easier to identify who is radaring you, and carry that info forward to the next game
The YOLO'S are so aggravating. They know theyre going die off the rip and they dont care. Its easy to find a game where at least 2 maybe even 3 people YOLO and the game is over in 3 or 4 minutes. It gets real frustrating when you want to win or even just survive and have fun.
Personally cruisers make or break a game of ranked IMO. While destroyers are essential, cruisers are the only class that really have the ability to strike at all targets
Great video but I’m too scarred from the playerbase in randoms (new player less than 6 months) I’m definitely that selfish player who YOLOs and damage farms and plays the law of averages for wins because too much toxicity for me to care about random teammates lol

Because the moment the enemy detects you from firing, every Cruiser and Battleship will be throwing every shell they have at you.... but they didn't. you guys got to shoot again and again and again.. yes....repeat it over again....the DDs are the bread and butter...the DDs are so important....the BBs only can sitt back...repeat it over again. it is the perfect excuse for all BBs to play passive and useless. videos like this promote the passiveness of the BBs. I strongly dissagree!!!
If you play to save your star you're playing to lose. I don't care about ranking out so it's easy for me to talk but I don't care about stars, just about the resources. And there's not that much difference between the leagues so...

Playing to win puts you in a 6v6 while playing to save your star puts you in a 1v5. It's simple math

In a DD you should just assume that if you're spotted, you're being shot at, so IFA is redundant.

Don't fight too long going for the kill. Damaging the enemy DDs is almost as powerful and you will take far less damage.
The Fletcher is my go to DD for many games.

The problem with going straight in instead of reversing is that you are then stuck at island with no impact on game.
