I highly recommend the Ambient Weather Station in your description link. I had mine up during Helene’s wind in South Carolina and it reads stuff upwards of 40-50 mph. Nice work as always, I love winter weather 👍
We got about 5" of light snow in central Maine last night into this morning. It was 1° when I went to bed last night but warmed to 12° this morning. There's a foot of snow on the ground right now
Thanks for the forecast Travis- I have a question, I'm in northwest Oregon and it looks like the arctic air could be coming to the northwest sometime in January. Is that a possibility?
That’s possible, specially, with the way that the stratosphere warming appears to be across parts of Siberian, maybe Alaska, and that might display some of the cold air further to the west than it normally would. We’ll have to wait and see but thanks for the question.
There are big areas on NYS/ PA in the lower elevations that have bupkis for snow so far. Those areas a are in the somewhat misleading big snow total areas of the snow total map.
Love your videos!! quick question. Do you think that climate change is going to affect snow in west Michigan will it significantly reduce our snow fall? I love the snow and it plays a huge role in our business wondering your thoughts on our weather in the future.
With these rain events this time of year. Surface temperatures are dropping too. Formation of black ice is a possibility that should be considered while traveling
Yes, many on social media have been hyping up this "December Torch" as of late, but the cold air won't be gone for long! Great video.

I have a Ambient WS5000 and it's great, accurate and reliable.
Travis has to be the best weather youtuber imo. He never jumps the gun either. W travis!
Max velocity is the best weather RUclipsr. Easily
Thank you Travis! Keeping fingers crossed for a good snowmobile season in NW Lower Michigan!!
Have you had much lake effect?
@ Yes, 18”ish just south of Traverse City. Hard to tell exactly with the warm ground melting it pretty quickly. But let’s keep it going!

We in southern Manitoba are under a snowfall warning.
Stay warm and safe!
Thanks for the update!!!!

NJ is thawing out but not my feet.
Sitting under $7 blanket with shoes on🦙🐏🐘
Haven’t watched the video yet but I’m hoping for no more snowstorms breaking my states ankles
Darn it
I hope we get snow and not rain up here in Montreal Canada on Wednesday

Can you set if North Carolina round Greensboro NC and siler city NC will be snow

You will hate this answer, I don’t know. Not sure anyone does.
Are we gonna see a snowstorm on the 25th? I live in Detroit I wanna see a white Christmas.
Me too❤
Why hasn't RedOak Iowa been getting snow. It constantly breaks up around us
Send that cold air to the PNW!
Not just cold air, but a snow storm too. I am in Salem, OR south of Portland and I want snow badly.
That freezing rain in that area and Columbia River gorge can get unpleasant.
It's been 9 years since Atlanta had snow will we break the record next year
I dont know how many times i have to remind people that WInter starts December 21 NOT December 1
Meteorological seasons run a bit differently; yes, the winter solstice is December 21, but meteorological winter starts December 1.

No mention of January

What do you think on the 25th? Is there gonna be a snowstorm? I live in Detroit.
Based on historic odds and being this far out, unlikely
Bring the snow!! ❄️❄️❄️
Your click bait was for January, you said nothing about January??
☹️
Some people call them the Great Lakes - In the winter time I call them the North American heat sink. LOL
They are, essentially.
Looks like Texas is weather-free?
A quiet week relative to other areas for sure
