IF it gets cold by New Years in the East, it will be dry and only last 2 days. Then it warms back up. Only accumulating snow northern New England/Lake effect area's. Same as it has been. Will be 6 or 7 days normal to above temp's. Then 2 days below then repeat.
Our usual Central NC/VA late December is cold leading up to Christmas followed by warm up an rain until a cold front just after New Year. Then we get warm until the last 1/3 or 1/4 of January.
Hopefully you're right about it not trending freakishly warm between Christmas and New Years, because the cynical side of me is expecting it will be, lol.
Hi Travis. Brilliant videos as always. I'm from the UK and heading to Whistler then onto Banff in February. Any early signs what I can expect from the weather in terms of temps/snow? Thanks
The above average temperatures are already here. Just looked at the weather channel 10 day forecast. I live in the southeast and it looks like typical weather for this time of year. Meaning no snow. And it looks to be pretty typical in other parts of the country. Snow in the northeast and upper Midwest isn’t exactly unusual for late December and early January. But I guess embellishing thumbnails are necessary to maximize clicks. We all have to make a living somehow.
Thank you for all the weather video's! What would you say the most accurate radar to watch gfs, nam, hrrr, euro. I plow snow in Michigan and I watch the radars all the time to try and get a idea of snow fall.

Mid florida this morning had humidity levels at 95 percent but it was only 70 degrees.
Looks like a cold and rainy Christmas for Atlanta this year

Cold air just doesn't have any staying power at all but the warm air really does. Great news there.

I doubt we'll ever get snow in Coastal Virginia. We used to get snow . Maybe we get six cold days during the whole winter.
