That's because 1.He uses certain amps 2.He is a very good player 3.There is a good post processing 4.He is a good sales man 5.He uses good selling techniques to sell you a product and you are overwelmed by all the above mentioned things, which make you inclined of buying anything he offers you...well for the most part of it.
Oh yeah, rule number one is never buy a pedal because Andy made it sound good.Only took me twice to learn. You have to see how a mere mortal makes it sound.
I'm a huge fan of subtle, always on modulation effects (especially in stereo) to thicken up a good rhythm sound, and that intro sounds like 80's era Killing Joke! I've been hunting down that sound for a long time, as that's a holy grail of that kind of guitar sound! I definitely need to experiment with vibrato more.
Andy is always my first stop in checking out a new pedal. He never says anything bad about a pedal, so a second opinion (that is not connected to sales) might be necessary, but he offers the best overview and he's a pleasant non "YT influencer exaggerated" presence to be around. Plus, he always starts with actually playing through the pedal, no nonsense - which is another way in which he avoids being annoying.
I was watching and reading comments, and thinking, “man, people really get a silly GAS, I know it’s EQD etc, but c’mon”. Then the squares wave started and I immediately thought, “son of a gun, I NEED this thing RIGHT NOW!”. Andy, you’re awesome!
Right when it goes overboard the ship at 6:24 I was listening and rewound the video cause at the time i was reading something and said to myself "oh god that's wobbly as wobbly can get", i then watch and Andy reacts with that grin at that same spot where I exclaimed out loud. This thing seems to me the best vibrato wobbly thing I've heard, it sounds like the most rubbery guitar string sound that ever existed, really intense!
Sounds varied, wanna hear it ran thru a synth, I could see this being used in other ways than a guitar effect.. I'll def check it out.. Andy kinda got a K Shields look going on too, the Lee Ranaldo and Kim Deal EQ videos are killer.. excited to see how people view this era of pedals in 20 years.. its truly a creative golden age of creation.
ED does it again! Ad libs an all too familiar effect and creates something new. Well done. Not my kind of effect though as trying to create something musical in extreme settings without it being a gimmick is an issue. Vibrato can be a great stand alone effect if it did not sound like someone doing subtle stuff with their vibrato bar, or being a dumbed down tremolo or sounding exactly like a chorus.
the only issue i see with this pedal is that little stutter where the audio cuts out when stepping on the switch while playing when using the momentary switch, that would drive me crazy.
A lot of digital pedals made by lesser companies have some kind of issues; digital circuits are very complex and not easy to master, especially the more complicated ones.
Yeah, you might have to aim that resentment elsewhere.Waranted or not, their stuff varies by maybe 20/30$ used. They've become very popular the last few years, even if I think there are usually better alternatives.
What is the second song?!?! (the one played on the Hagstrom, 3:14 to 4:18). Haunting, dark and a little creepy...sounds like a David Lynch soundtrack. Lovin' it!
A bit disappointed with Andy's usage of the random mode. Was hoping for a cooler more ear-pleasing example than that. Otherwise, great pedal demo as always!
Pretty sure that if the box said Joyo on it nobody would be hyped about this. I love my EQD pedals but the only things I like about this are Andy's intro song and that sweet EQD font.
I could swear he's playing this progression....Butthole Surfers via Donovan ruclips.net/video/76yWZcsgwF8/видео.html at the end... 8:24 ...this pedal makes me feel like im listening to a Butthole Surfers album.
Andy's videos are the bane of savings accounts.
PREACH
This and the pedal zone. I’m done for.
It’s 2 am, but I do this for Andy
Andy makes every pedal sound musical! Then I get it and I struggle to sound anything but shit
Lol! Glad it's not just me ;-)
That's because
1.He uses certain amps

Hahah! I know. I'm like, "I'm gonna rock on this thing!!" Then likely get it and immediately forget how to play guitar.
Oh yeah, rule number one is never buy a pedal because Andy made it sound good.Only took me twice to learn. You have to see how a mere mortal makes it sound.

Country Sad Ballad Man... one of the greatest riffs ever committed to tape, Graham Coxon is an absolute treasure

This is going to be on every shoegaze album.
Such a great demo, Andy! Envelope Pitch Mode = MAGIC! ❤️
I love that Andy clearly loves Blur nearly as much as I do
Name of song plz
I was watching and reading comments, and thinking, “man, people really get a silly GAS, I know it’s EQD etc, but c’mon”. Then the squares wave started and I immediately thought, “son of a gun, I NEED this thing RIGHT NOW!”. Andy, you’re awesome!
This demo sounds like 8 minutes of polvo riffs, for that reason I'm buying it
Polvo meets Tropical F*CK Storm.
Right when it goes overboard the ship at 6:24 I was listening and rewound the video cause at the time i was reading something and said to myself "oh god that's wobbly as wobbly can get", i then watch and Andy reacts with that grin at that same spot where I exclaimed out loud. My news feed Feelin seasick with all the Aquaduct videos today...
playing the volume knob like a whammy on the envelope pitch setting is such a cool idea. andy kills it again
Best pedal i ever heard, need this
My tremolo bar just lost his job...thank you to Andy & EQD.
This is the pedal of my dreams!!!!
I honestly come back to Andy's videos even if I've had the pedal for a while, he uses some really great settings I usually wouldn't think of using
Sounds varied, wanna hear it ran thru a synth, I could see this being used in other ways than a guitar effect.. I'll def check it out.. Super late but it can be used for specialty harps to really incredible effect: ruclips.net/video/um9qpcXSS4E/видео.html
I don’t like vibrato effects. I never have. But 90 seconds into an Andy demo... I think I need that! Hahaha
I was the same with the Nels Cline demo on the EQD site
One of my longest standing pedals.Always dug Vibrato, and this one adds meaning to the term.
Andy's true guitar talent is his taste in riffs, country sad ballad Man!
Great sounding pedal but that Jennings you used in the intro is one of the sexiest things ever created by the hands of man!
"Sometimes Vibrato should be used sparingly, and Earthquaker understands this". Do they really tho?
Graham Coxon didn't :)
You bet we do!
That guitar is fuggin gorgeous

Very cool sounds! I was waiting for the Blur riffage, was not disappointed.
Which Railhammers are that in the Hagström?
the only issue i see with this pedal is that little stutter where the audio cuts out when stepping on the switch while playing when using the momentary switch, that would drive me crazy.

I just bought one of these. Cool stuff.
You can buy water parks on Reverb.com?
I'm so glad I never got around to buying a Janus. This thing does so much. Can't wait to try it with my Spires.
Country Sad Ballad Man!
Sounds great
Finally some actually good guitar playing and not just people playing the same blues licks
5:55 that's so grungey
that envelope mode is super snazzy
Reminds me of everything I listened to growing up in 90s
Really awesome pedal, appreciate the excellent vid! :)
ANDY YOU ARE AWESOME
You love Blur, and I love you for loving Blur!
I like this put I would use it just here and there!
EQD have done it again!!! 🤘🏼
I can't wait to buy this in a year for $100
How that working out? I know it's only been 9 months but this pedal has really held its value. Might have to wait a few more years...
Yeah, you might have to aim that resentment elsewhere.Waranted or not, their stuff varies by maybe 20/30$ used. They've become very popular the last few years, even if I think there are usually better alternatives.
Must know what that first tune is!!
William Orchard Just made it up! I think I’ll call it: Hey Man, Nice Shoes.
AndyDemos I loved it. I’ve never been a fan of vibrato, but that song was fantastic.
A stereo version had been cool, none the less it is a great pedal!
What is the second song?!?! (the one played on the Hagstrom, 3:14 to 4:18). Haunting, dark and a little creepy...sounds like a David Lynch soundtrack. Lovin' it!
one day you'll look back and say, what the hell was I thinking.
Sounds demented......I like it! :P
Dramamine please
Should I get this or the Zvex Lo-fi junky??
yo, you can like make a whole record with this WTF
Vibrato is kinda like Tremolo without the headache it gives me lol. Shoulda checked these out before I bought a trem pedal.
Great pedals must have good foot controls
the fact that it cuts the signal when you first hit the momentary switch really kills the usefulness
Steven Chabot dude i know :/
Doesn't look like it does on the EQD demo ruclips.net/video/EGeLhXGlvSg/видео.htmlm15s
Yeah but, like, that's *their* demo, of course it would be perfect there
True, true.
Glad i held out on the pyramids, I would use this WAAAAAAAY more! May have to sacrifice my CE-2w for this!
Cameron Tyson
me to my MXR chorus: “I’m sorry little one”
I'd keep the boss if you want purely traditional vibrato. Nothing does it better. But this does do some pretty cool shit
Country Ballad Sad Man!!!! (:
I have lived in Akron a long time... Where is the largest indoor water park?
Forget the pedal... I want that Jennings guitar!
Andy Rules
I must get a pedal like this to play some really weird shit, man. But first I want to compare with others. Any suggestions?
What pickups are in Andy's Hagstrom Swede ?
Brave face!!!! Very specific pedal. Hard sell for Andy!!!!!
This is Tropical Fuck Storm in a box
The largest indoor water park? I think not!
Ikr? I was like where??
random sounds so mac demarco, it’s great
this very well may be the first eqd pedal i buy, thems a pretty penny though
7:16 if that isnt some polvo song verbatum, im impressed
Who can tell me exactly which model Reverend guitar is hanging in the background?
Looks like a Reverend Airwave 12 string. I've seen Andy play it on several demos. Exceptional guitar, btw.
My pocket just got a little less full....thanks Andy!
Does that Hagstrom have Railhammers installed in it?
cjcoake sure looks like it
The mxr sugar drive is situated before the eqd aqueduct?
Where is that first riff from?
Matías Moine I just DMed Andy on Instagram and he said that he just made it up. Which is pretty cool.
Yo this is awesome what's the first song/riff he is playing on the sine mode
Rob Evers. I also want to know what the first song was
We must know!!
Sounds kinda like C.A. Quintet - Trip Thru Hell
fuckin' sweet!
I dunno if this effect in general has a place for me. My grand orbiter phaser has a vibrato toggle, and I feel that's as much vibrato as I'll need.
temporarily hated myself for buying the TCE shaker then i googled the price for this
❤
Omg it's Andy! I haven't seen this guy since those gearwire videos! WTH!
A bit disappointed with Andy's usage of the random mode. Was hoping for a cooler more ear-pleasing example than that. Otherwise, great pedal demo as always!
how many pedals has andy sold?
I give up...what was the first song?
That indoor water park must be underneath the Wally Waffle
This is much less usable than the Night wire. Love that pedal. All I could get this to do was make me sound out of tune.
Andy is god
First song?
wait what? largest indoor waterpark is in Sandusky, Ohio lol
COXON
Third song?
Pretty sure that if the box said Joyo on it nobody would be hyped about this. I love my EQD pedals but the only things I like about this are Andy's intro song and that sweet EQD font.
4am CST posting? Andy got moved to that late shift!
Andy never sleeps. He waits.
Just the early morning shift
If Andy can only make it sound this good, I'm fucked. Guess I'll pass on this one.
4:00 Sonido de Nirvana
We're you stoned when you played that dude? Whoa.
Hmmm probably Andys own brews
I could swear he's playing this progression....Butthole Surfers via Donovan ruclips.net/video/76yWZcsgwF8/видео.html at the end... 8:24 ...this pedal makes me feel like im listening to a Butthole Surfers album.
Sandusky Ohio wants a word with you
uhh, only this guy can make me want to spend that much money on a vibrato pedal
I don't think I would find this pedal useful but cool demo.
first tune name plz
It's called "hey man, nice shoes"...by Andy
Am I the only one who gets sea sickness while listening to this?
JUST A KID FROM AKRON, OHIO
