I don't understand how people can call this overpriced when it comes fully loaded at base price and thousands cheaper than the m4, atsv, c63 AMG. You're not getting some knock off sports coupe. This thing is a legitimate beast and it's reliable as fuck. What's wrong with you people.

Sum of all its parts. It's not a spec sheet car. The car is exceptionally fun to drive. If it's not for you, there are other options. That's the point. For many of us though reliability in a performance package is what we're after.

As someone who owns both an ISF and a RCF, I can tell you from experience that even though the spec sheets don't look to impressive, these cars hold there own against german competition on the street. On the track, its pretty close. All I can say is enjoy the maintenance bills of every other brand out there. Toyota has the best reliability hands down.
AMG looks better..classy and their v8 is not pipe through the cabin and sound just wayyy beastly.
Just want to point out that the Transmission is not a ZF its an Aisin AA80E and is one of the best 8 Speed transmissions made. Its also quite different than the ZF and better designed.

It is slow, heavy, poor handling, melting side mirrors, cracked dashes, and the worst infotainment system in the industry. It SUCKS!
Was just in Atlanta this weekend and my buddy just bought a metallic dark blue w/ performance pack. He already put a FM racing exhaust and man does it sound bad ass.

Great video. Don't sleep on Lexus as I know there might not be a lot of fans on your channel, but these cars can be a true sleeper with style and luxury.
Try to review an older Lexus 2JZ SC, IS, GS for the non believer to be blown away by the brand. If you were close by I would gladly give you my GS to conduct the review.
Many moons ago back in maybe 2005 I rode in a 2001 GS 430 and that had plenty of power.
I used to throw my SC into corners like nothing, very similar feel to the Supra ;)
All these guys saying I rather get a zl1.
Truth of the matter is the Lexus will last over 400 000 miles standard maintenance performed where as the zl1 would be lucky to hit 200 000 miles without any major repairs...

May I ask why you didn't use the paddle shifters to truly reveiw shift times?
Good review but i'm pretty sure you didn't even try it in sport + mode or use the paddles. It's a very different experience from eco mode.
Zelo - The tachometer showed the Sport mode, not Eco or standard setting. Shifts definitely better in Sport plus...

RCF side note: The ISF and RCF have a dual intake system that allows for smooth single intake driving under 4,000 RPMs and once you surpass that RPM threshold the second intake opens up and unleashes the full potential of the Lexus. You can however change it so that either both intakes are always open or if you don't plan on gunning it that day, you can set it to only have one open above 4,000 RPMs.
How can you change these settings ?

I would recommend to you the reviews of engineering explained. Very complete reviews of the cars tested. But the RCF is not amongst them.

Awesome grand tour car/everyday car, however not so much a weekend track car (too heavy and understeer tendency) ... This is a nice example of the RCF. Owner did a great job. Thumbs up
The RC F does not have the ZF 8HP. Lexus have developed an in-house 8 speed transmission. It is very slow when shifting manually, but in auto mode it is a very nice transmission.
wafm20 yes, we do use the zf trans in the RCF. we have our on in house 10 speed tho
it actually isn't slow shifting, it shifts fast and hard in manual
so .1 of a second is slow? The ECU regulates shift speed based on driver inputs. So if are cruising around in manual, it will be a slower softer shift. Where as if you are smashin on the gas pedal it will be must faster and harder shifting. -RCF & ISF owner
FYI. Lexus never builds cars based on numbers alone.
Lexus never mass produces cars.
Lexus never engineers and design's based on popular trends.
Lexus buyers are probably some of the most loyal owners in the world.
Lexus truthfully makes vehicles that will sell globally, not for certain markets or types of buyer's.

always love these. my buddy has the 4 door edition of these the GSF and wow, its a great car. sounds fantastic, has enough power to get up and go, or effortlessly flow through traffic on the highway. perfect luxury sedan that can get up and go

I helped wrap the rear bumper. I also did the carbon fiber accenting on the rear bumper.

can't see much detail because i am downloading some files and can't even watch in 720 but the wrap looks phenomenal. The front bumper and rear trunk looked like had no cuts or patches. I am impressed

Lexus make amazing cars and I am not in my 40's or 50's. Great video though, glad u had fun. I wouldn't own one of these though, just too much power. Not a freak for speed and madness on the road.
Yep a lot of ppl didn't and still don't know about the Fs in Lexus I own the ISF for 6 years now and basically let the car get be known and respected. Lexus IS the new Alfa of cars all makers are threatened by Lexus we taking over

Why do people talk smack about Japanese Premium car companies? They're very good cars yet people compare them to Luxury car companies that have been in the market for more than 50 years. Of course BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, etc would be amazing; they have more experience.But Japanese premium cars are newer, meaning that they still have a lot to learn and improve on. Give them another 10-20 years and you'll see how they'll much better.

I think the reason it doesn't get noticed as much is because it is 80 thousand dollars.for this money your looking at used GT-R, Corvette zo6, Jaguar f type, hellcat, and possibly the demon that's coming out which are all stiff competition.

RP Productions its not a ZF transmission...its an aisin transmission with a regular torque converter
Maybe you should try a ZF mrlilmatt123. I have tried a PDK, and the Scat Pack's ZF and let me tell you it is really that good. I don't however know what RP was on about with the Lexus that transmission is not the same and slow to shift, like auto camaros and vettes.

the acceleration is "not violent" becouse of the stupid gearing in the defirential (I think it has like 2,07 gears in it or something around that number)

This car does not have a ZF transmission. It’s made by Aisin. All 8 speed Toyota’s & Lexus’ use a variation of the same trans except for the new Supra. That’s the only Toyota w/ a ZF trans.
Excellent review and I love the car.
Aisin makes this 8speed, if ZF made it like it did my fiat you would feel very uncomfortable in but you would get that more launchy but abrupt feel.

I went from a gt350 to this car, and I won’t look back! The gt350 was definitely more rowdy and handled better, but the build quality was absolute garbage. This car has me impressed even today, the fit and finish is great, it’s as reliable as a Camry, and the best part is I don’t have to worry about how much oil it’s consumed in the past 100 miles like the Shelby.
we need to find time to setup a review on my isf, its much more of a raw driving experience

ZF are German transmissions. This has an Aisin 8 speed trans from my car, the IS-F.
