    Some of the many, many reasons that i love India and find it such a good fit for me are:
    1. Im a vegetarian and there is such fantastic Veg food available everywhere.
    2. I rise very early every morning to do 1 hour of Vipassana Meditation. This fits perfectly with the morning call to prayer in India, so no alarms are needed!
    3. There are so many friendly stray dogs everywhere who love attention and being loved on.
    4. Everyone seems to love photography as much as I do. There is never a shortage of people wanting to have their photo taken, or being willing to let me photograph them.
    5. I love the mountains, rivers, snow capped peaks, jungles, oceans, beaches, deserts, tropical forests, huge cities and small villages!
    7. Even though the traffic is sometimes hectic, there are so MANY ways to get around easily, no matter where it is I want to go.
    8.Markets Markets Markets everywhere. There is always a huge section of food available at all times of the day and night.
    9. CHAI
    10. And the #1 reason that i LOVE India are the PEOPLE!

      Karl Watson: Travel Documentaries First things first, I am from India and I do love your work and that's why HK2NY is in my favourite playlist. But I am in shock when you decided to put on a wrong graphical map of India!!! You simply butchered the state of Jammu and Kashmir! Please look to it ASAP as it is illegal to depict the wrong map of our beloved country by The Supreme Court of India. Whatever part you decided to include into Pakistan is not the international border as per the United Nations but an imaginary line called the 'LINE OF CONTROL'. I hope you'll correct the same ASAP and avoid a lawsuit. Thanks, An Average Indian.

    • @dizzyb111
      @dizzyb111 7 лет назад

      A Born Cynic A lawsuit? Are you out of your mind? The disputed territories brings up multiple maps based on what country you're from. Outside of India, Pakistan and China and maybe a few regional countries, this is the map of India to most outside nations. So don't get butthurt and threaten lawsuits, you ignoramus.

    Hi Karl,
    Main attraction of your videos is that, it’s quite natural. No gimmicks and no effects added considering viewers like other travel channels. It’s completely genuine. Appreciate that  and a big Hi-5 to you for visiting our country and making such a great video. Next time, request you to make a journey from Western side to North Eastern part of India covering at least the Rann of Kutch, Khajuraho, Konark, Puri temple, Howrah Bridge, North Sikkim, Manipur, and Tawang etc. etc. You’ll find it exactly the opposite to North India am sure & you can clearly understand how we Indians proudly say India is a secular country with different languages, different culture, different people, different food and different terrain as well. Once again, Hats off to you..
    I'm trying my level best to share your channel with my friends and family.
    Cheers,Sajin.

    Walking through Indian streets is nothing short of sensory overload. You were jetlagged at the beginning, but you talk about how exhausting it can be. It's one thing to walk 10 miles in one day in a European city where everything is calm. It's another thing for the body to constantly be stressed with so many sounds, sights, smells, people walking around in a place like India, even if you're just walking 1-2 miles. I feel like in these situations every cell in the body is using so much more energy as the body adapts. All your senses have to be hyper-vigilant. There are so many people, it's all a bit draining (almost as if your brain is sub-consciously evaluating who is a threat and who isn't; like a survival instinct). But that new stimulus of going to a place like India where everything is so different and so rich in culture is what makes it so fun :)

    • @SephirothXRA
      @SephirothXRA 8 лет назад +1

      It's like if you're in Times Square in NYC @ 9 pm on a Friday where it's similarly crowded. It's still sensory overload, but there's just something so different about walking in India.

    • @Jeed92
      @Jeed92 4 года назад +3

      @@SephirothXRA The biggest diffrence is that India is one of the few places in this world which wasnt conquered by caucasians entirely even after the 200 years the brits ruled it and the time the moghuls ruled it. India has kept some of its identity through all of this. and that is a very very old one. Back when India was the richest country on earth for a long time.

    Beautiful. I had gone for a 35 days tour in own vehicle to cover entire India, but after 35 days we could not even finish half. In every 100km, there will some change in language, culture, clothing, or food. Since the country has more than 5000 years of history there are many ancient temples, monuments and history associated with anything and everything which is very overwhelming. If you are in a spiritual journey then there will be more to it and you may have an entire life life not sufficient to explore all of India even for an Indian who has basic understanding of her culture

    Dude I have so much to comment about, let's see if I would be able to successfully break it into points-
    1. You have captured India(my country!) very very beautifully.
    2. I would love to travel with you next time you come here. I mean it!
    3. It's 2 am, I have an exam in the morning yet I watched it because I knew it would make my day. And it did!
    4. Video felt a bit rushed but guess what, India is that big!
    5. A question - Where did you book the hostels from?
    6. Your choice of music is just good! Always some soothing music.
    7. You are an awesome man, you are an inspiration and you have earned a well wisher.
    8. So much points, still not satisfied! Anyway, keep up this good work! Will meet someday for sure :)

    thanks for doing this video. I saw a lot. While I like to travel and do a lot, the thought of going to India on my own intimidates the hell out of me. In just the first 5 min. of the vid I can tell I would be totally out of my comfort zone. I would want to go with someone who knows the place.
    I admire your courage.

    As an Indian staying abroad my heart aches for the warmth, life and liveliness of my home. India is for the soul. I was v v pained to hear some of Karl's observations on North India specially. This is NOT the way to see the country. Please understand that the beauty of the country CANNOT be measured by what you see. You really need to understand the history, the context and culture of the place. India is all heart and soul and stories- that is what makes her and thats what missing in this video. Where are the stories? The context and the history? Its all soooo superficial. YOU REALLY NEED TO TRAVEL WITH AN INDIAN WHO CAN GIVE YOU THIA CONTEXT AND THIS UNDERSTANDING. AND IF YOU CANT TALK TO THE LOCALS SITTING QUIETLY NOT THE ONES THAT APPROACH YOU TO SELL STUFF BECAUSE THEY ARE THERE FOR JOB AND THE ONES SITTING QUIETLY ARE THE REAL PEOPLE WITHOUT ANY PURPOSE WHO WILL TELL YOU THE MEANING BEHIND THE THINGS YOU SEE. I wish i could tell this to every traveller that plans to come to my country. Know her, understand her. Just dont see her. Hope someone will take this up and then share what they really SAW.

      Why are you living abroad if you miss india so much ? Believe it, his observations are real. It's just you don't like the stuff he is telling us at it is.
