greeting from india my freind...dont forget kerala ....most ppl go to taj mahal and mostly north india and ignores the more beautiful more develooed south, west india
Karl Watson: Travel Documentaries The reason why south india is peaceful and north india so chaotic is because way back in 1800-1900's everyone wanted to come to india and the easiest ways to come to india was north and hardest way to enter india was south route due to the indian ocean and pacific ocean. North india seems chaotic because many rulers came from the northern path and ruled india for long long time and so it is full of chaos and it is very diverse as it kept on changing hence you can see difference in people, food, and culture . And on the other hand south is peaceful because it has a very long and undisturbed background and history, and so people their are well aware of their history and are educated, it kind of has that safety and secured feeling because very few people ever came to south in past.....hope this information helps you all 😊
Urja Vyas : God had two magic powders with him when he created India . The first one , for colour , was sprinkled from north to south , and it hardly reached the southern parts of India . So , when he decided to sprinkle the magic powder of wisdom , he started from south and ended in north . ( hardly anyone receiving it in north) . Hence the chaos. 😂
Karthik J brother isn't Pakistan and China enough to break our country, why are you comparing country in itself....!!! I'm a North Indian and I accept that South Indians are wiser and more peaceful then North Indians.... That's what our country is about bro unity in diversity, I'm proud of you people. You should also take pride in North Indians who fought hard with Invaders to protect India. Brother I'll advise you to not think politically.... We all are one.
wth man? Can't you take a joke??... where did this guy ever tell that he didn't respect north india? It's just a joke, why do u guys get so emotional and concerned about the "Unity of the nation" Everytime a South India pulls a gig at North Indians huh??...
One of the best impression videos of India I´ve found on RUclips so far! I am definetly gonna check out all of your other videos :) I will be going to southern India in August for a voluntary service for one year and my anticipation rised to a whole new level while watching this video! Thank you for that! Greetings from Germany, keep up the awesome work!
A wonderful, professionally made video by a lively, open-minded, Western tourist of his happy moments. You are welcome again and again. Sure, India will fascinate every body, every time.
I've never had this long of an extended stay in any country but after watching these episodes I'm inspired to explore more in depth. India has officially been added to the list. But in the meantime, on to SE Asia I go!

Ah, well looks like you have something to visit for next time then. Like you say in the first video, it's great to get the highlights out of the way, and THEN see the smaller things. Hope you get to go back soon!

Actually kerala has very severe drinking problem and the govt is doing everything it can to make it harder to drink but it was not working 95% of the states men drink and its a social and health issue. The govt got fed up and now has outright banned alcohol/liquor now. Tamilnadu its neighbouring state is now the fastest growing liquor market in the country and you know why and they govt he is considering phased probation too. Kerala also introduced fat tax. I flew to Mumbai in 1989 and took the train to Pune, where I stayed for a week, and then took three weeks to get to the southernmost tip of India, all by train, and up the east coast to Chennai, where I took the train back to Mumbai (25 hours). Again looking at Hampi revokes my thought tat sadly we can't witness the Grand old, prosperous Hampi now.All the wealth was looted and the whole Hampi was destroyed for months and the rich, royal, prosperous Hampi has become like this.So sad that most of the architecture, art, monument, temple were ruined.Well tats history.😓
There were days long ago when Gems and Precious stones were Lying on the street of Humpy. It was the Wealthiest city of mankind. Now everything and the soil of humpy is sleeping with its lost dreams...
Thanks, great documentary episode! I'm over the mOOn to go to visit Soouthern India! This got me more excited, & gave me more possibilities. Great sharing!
Most traveller's and tourists go to delhi and mumbai. But like its literally the most polluted, most populated places. Whhyy must they always. Amazing video i absolutely loved it.
I love how you keep it real Karl. Your explanation at the end was spot on. You've just got to keep a positive attitude and your perspective on the world around you is completely different. Cheers!
Loved your documentary on your travels through Goa and Kerala!! You summed up your travels through southern India very honestly and with an open mind....wish people would make these trips to India and enjoy the beauty without preconceived ideas. I am glad you loved it and would continue your enjoy your travels. All the best, Karl!!! Look forward to watching a lot more on your trips.... Have fun buddy!!
Came across your travel vlog and I totally loved the way you captured everything:) I'm from the northeastern part of India and i think you should visit it the next time you come to India. You'd be surprised.Till then:)
Awesome! I really want to go to india now! seriously good Vlog man, keep trying to find other vlogs to give me ideas on where to go in thailand, but none of the other vlogs out there seem to have the right feel, you've nailed it though man....keep them coming!
India !!! Unity in Diversity ... Various States ... Different languages ... Different religions ... Different weather conditions ... A variety of landscapes ... Rivers, mountains, beaches, forests, waterfalls ... Traveling all over India will give you unforgettable experiences .... Trying a range of unlimited delicious food across in India especially in villages ...
You have a great knowledge of camera angles and you have record stuff pretty good although you were doing it alone. I can see the scenes where you are walking and camera is still and it clearly shows you had to double walk to take the camera back but still a very nicely edited video. I was wondering why you didn't go to the north of India(Himalayas) and got my answer at the end. India is hustle and bustle, overcrowded and polluted but still has plenty of beautiful things to offer. When you pray for rain you got to deal with mud. Glad you enjoyed your stay. :)
THIS IS THE BEST INDIAN TRAVEL EXPERIENCE EVERRR...i loved your honest opinion ,i am an Indian and i agree on everything you said and so happy that you did not let the negative aspects of my country affect your trip ,sorry for all the bad things you or your friends had to experience
I visited India in 1980, it has changed so much. Very touristy but still looks so great. I travelled mainly by train south from Mumbai to the far south. Ferry to Sri Lanka which you cannot do now. Then travelled north to Kashmir. I missed out on Kolkata and want to go back and travel west to east and back Delhi to Kolkata and back to Delhi. You have filled in a few gaps such as Hampi.
I love the way you explain the country at the end of the documentary!! I had a lot of trouble explaining how i felt about the country when i returned home, but you nailed it! Everything depends on your mood. When I showed my pictures and footage to my friends they thought I was mad for lasting three months in such conditions. My legs were covered in mosquito bites and I was happy to be home, but after a few weeks I could laugh about the bad circumstances as well! i got used to sleeping through the sound of tuktuks and bollywood music on buses and could'nt get any sleep when I returned home! Probably the most mentally challenging country i've visited so far!
Your documentaries are great man! I enjoy your travels as I drink my coffee in the morning and wish I will do this kind of traveling one day. Thanks so much for sharing. This show should be on Travel & Living! :)) Take care and safe travels:)
In India having a sense of humour is the best attitude to cope with everything..Hampi blew me away in 2001 but like all places, increased tourism changes things. A great video.
Wow!! That paragliding...it was out of the world...the tall coconut trees along the coastline.....superb...luved it!! Nd it's great ...unlike some of the RUclipsrs...u highlighted the positives of the places u went rather than the negatives...we need more positive people like u...much luv from India..
Please keep making more of these, sitting at my desk stoned while watching your videos(especially HK2NY) has not only provided great entertainment but has been one of the reasons I've decided to spend a significant amount of time traveling the world, thanks man.
Very nicely made travelogue. 10/10 to you Karl. I would have suggested few more places in the north like Amritsar, Dharamshala(Tibetian govt in exile), Manali and Leh(ladakh). Do plan these in your next visit to India.

Karl..Both episodes of your Indian journey was absolutely great. For me the highlight of 1st episode was ur Varanasi trip, coverage and ur take on Varanasi. It was quite brilliant. Wrt 2nd episode, the end analysis of ur indian journey was spectacular imo. Coming back to your places and coverages, we understand you covered most with ur available tour schedule. I wish you wil l come back in future to our country since India is huge to travel and explore. I wish you will cover the following places next time( please plan a bigger trip next time & also we will do our maxm help to you to cover maxm places like 1.Mysore, Bandipur Nagarhole, Jog falls - Karnataka 2.Sun temple- Orissa 3.Munnar- Kerala 4.
No offense but thats the brits who took what they wanted to just because they had bigger weapons.
There were days long ago when Gems and Precious stones were Lying on the street of Humpy.
It was the Wealthiest city of mankind. Now everything and the soil of humpy is sleeping with its lost dreams...
Like isis destroyed Syrian heritage site, Muslims destroyed Hampi in the past..
Bizon fuxk yeah muslims did it. 😭😭
Jeed92 brits didnt do it. Its was destroyed hundreds of years earlier
What amazing videos ! And true insight into India...inspirational
Thanks 😊
The thing is he show the reality ,both best things and bad things.... Every country has it's own good and bad...

Most traveller's and tourists go to delhi and mumbai. But like its literally the most polluted, most populated places. Whhyy must they always. Amazing video i absolutely loved it.
Thanks very much :)
Quality documentary man, gave me goose bumps at times! can wait to head there now. Much appreciated for the great info :)

Awesome! I really want to go to india now! seriously good Vlog man, keep trying to find other vlogs to give me ideas on where to go in thailand, but none of the other vlogs out there seem to have the right feel, you've nailed it though man....keep them coming!
31:30 I'm glad that you could participate in the tradition of kerala beverages.
😂😂

wow i feel like i have learnt like some life lesson, 'when you pray for rain you gotta deal with mud'.
Simranpreet Sawhney nice 👍🏽
Simranpreet Sawhney very positive comment, definitely learnt something from you
THIS IS THE BEST INDIAN TRAVEL EXPERIENCE EVERRR...i loved your honest opinion ,i am an Indian and i agree on everything you said and so happy that you did not let the negative aspects of my country affect your trip ,sorry for all the bad things you or your friends had to experience
India looked awesome. Can't wait for the Africa trip! Also - please go to Japan!!!
Beautiful,. That's all I can say. Great work Karl. Perfect Traveler
Thanks
Take care and safe travels:)
In India having a sense of humour is the best attitude to cope with everything..Hampi blew me away in 2001 but like all places, increased tourism changes things.
A great video.
Always quality content Karl. You deserve way more subscribers.
Have you thought of doing a longer trip again, like you did with James in 2013?
Wow!! That paragliding...it was out of the world...the tall coconut trees along the coastline.....superb...luved it!! Nd it's great ...unlike some of the RUclipsrs...u highlighted the positives of the places u went rather than the negatives...we need more positive people like u...much luv from India..
Quality vid, sums it all up. Pretty much doing exactly the same route now.
Had the same bloke on the camel safari
We love India-one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
I subscribed! This is the best F*CKING travel video. Professionally done!
Do plan these in your next visit to India.
sandeep singh saini ofcourse . He missed j&k , Punjab , Himachal and Uttarakhand . And north east too .
next visit should be to East and Northeast india, Odisha, Kolkata, Sikkim, Assam, Tawang, and the forests and mountains of meghalaya and mizoram
THANK YOU, Karl! These are the best impressions of backpacking channels I've ever seen! Just what I wanted to see; thanks for participating! Now, I feel ready for India :)
Thanks very much 😊

These India videos are amazing! I'm doing a very similar route in January but dont go past Goa, how long did you spend in Goa?
Wow! I'm there for about a day and a half, what would be your top recommendation? The mopeds looked fun, was that an afternoon thing or a day thing?
is that where you did the paddle boarding? and with the mopeds was that in the same area/were they easy to find/how much was it? Sorry for all the questions!
Sam Brailli try 'Gokarna' instead of Goa. You'll thank me. :)
your final comments are always so spot on! awesome videos as always bud!
Awesome one man. Loved it. "Geek run" hahaha. I was thinking of the Rickshaw Run the whole time. We plan to do that too.
