Windows 7's days are numbered, Windows 7 is coming to a end on Jan. 14, 2020. What does this mean? It means Microsoft will not support Windows 7 anymore. No Updates, No Security Patches, No Support, No Fixes...nothing. I will show you how to prepare for Windows 7 End of Life and show you everything you need to know about Windows 7 End of Life.
5 Tips for Windows 7 End of Life
1. Continue to ignore advise and continue to use Windows 7?
Not a good idea, you will be vulnerable to ransomware, malware and malicious software without continued support from Microsoft. No Updates, No Security Patches, No Fixes, Its a massive security risk.
2. Buy a new Windows 10 license from Microsoft.
Microsoft officially ended the free upgrade to Windows 10 and offer you a chance to buy a license from them and a massive cost of $200 for Windows 10 Pro, or $140 for Windows 10 Home. These prices are way to high for most people and will opt for other ways to buy at licence key.
3. Upgrade to Windows 10 for free?
Yes that is right, Microsoft never shut off there free upgrade server, so you can still upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 legally. How long will this last? no one knows that question apart from Microsoft. So do it as so as possible.
4. Buy a New Computer
Maybe its just time to buy a new computer, if your system is super old and you fancy something new, now is the time to buy a NEW PC.
5. Install Linux for FREE
Yes you can use a Linux OS for FREE and it should run great on old hardware. Yes you will need to learn a new operating system, but that is part of the fun and its FREE.

What to do when windows 7 ends support.
My PC motherboard is Biostar G31 M7 TE.
It is only support windows 7, Xp,Vista .
It is now running Windows 7 ultimate.
I have 1Gb ×2 =2Gb ddr2 ram.
What should I do?
Now, I can't buy a new pc
@@yusufsiblysadik Linux Mint or Peppermint 10 will work great on your computer and it's free.
Peppermint OS or Manjaro.
Change to XP! 🙈
Windows 7 was the best one
Damn, I remember being blown over by Windows 3.11 for workgroups.
(But then I was well impressed with DOS 1.1 when introduced. And sad when DOS 5 died. But coming from an OS/2 fan, no surprise I s'pose).
@Klik Day take your old PC, and try Linux Mint Mate version. You will have a fully functioning PC that you can use as a backup if needed.
i have tryed every windows out there except winodows 2000 windows 7 is the best. The worst windows i had was windows m/e what a cat box scraper that was constant crashes when you tryed to use it . Windows 10 does not support dvd playing capacity you have to search for a program most likely you have to pay like 10.00 to like 80 dollars not guaranteed to work and you lost all that money no refund!
@Klik Day if you need windows 10 and your computer is working fine, you can update it to Windows 10. Search how to update to Windows 10 . There is actually a Microsoft Web Page where you can do it for free. I also prefer to download a third party start button with Windows 8 and Windows 10 also, they change your user interface to the familiar one you used in Windows 7.
@@markstott2218 You can get MPC-HC media player or VLC and still run it on Windows 10, both free. I still preferred Windows 7 but there is some functionality you can retain with the windows 10 upgrade. Windows Media Center is one of the biggest losses, it was so easy to video record TV with it compared with 3rd party only solutions available on Windows 10.
In Nigeria, several thousands of people still use Windows XP.
Microsoft stopping support doesn't mean Windows 7 would stop working.
Use ubuntu I have an old xp machine I am going to run with a dual boot.
Wow
Athlon, blocking Africans from your network is your personal problem to deal with.
You contribute nothing to Africa, and what makes you think blocking Africans affect us?
The U.S. government, particularly the Dept. of Defense (DoD), has contracts with Microsoft to continue support for Windows XP indefinitely. Many, many (highly classified) weapons systems depend on the control of the WinXP operating system.
but if you using windows xp or windows 7 after 14 January 2020 you will miss the update and and technical support from the Microsoft then you're at the risk for viruses and hackers, so keep update to your machine.
I'm hanging on to Windows 7 as long as I can. I tried Windows 10 and it 'sucks.' It completely takes over your control.. My cell phone has it and I can't stand that either. Are we 'ever' to be free? Call me old-school.. but I still like something that I control and not what's dictated to me. Peace!
Get an old PC or laptop one that people said was completely obsolete and install Linux on it. You will be pleasantly surprised. Go here at youtube and enter "Best Linux Distro for Windows users." You will get some great advice and Linux has a great support community.
Dude, get off of Windows. Try out Ubuntu or Kubuntu. These two Linux distributions are great to start on Linux. It's free and you control the os.
@@alfredoramos1978 I like Kubuntu. It's my daily driver.
@@zoidberg444 That's awesome. I also use Raspbian Buster. I'm going to try out Manjaro Linux.
Linux is cool. Always enjoyed using it. If you don't like 10 out of the box then just mod it. There are lots of scripts you can run that will strip it down to the basics, free up ram and stop all automatic updates and even disable defender. Windows popularity makes for a well supported system and lots of available mods.
Literally no reason Windows 7 shouldn't be supported for another 10 years at least
$$$$$$$$$$$$$
some can not afford a new computer
There is a VERY good reason why it shouldn't. With Windows 7, Microsoft cannot spy on practically EVERYTHING you do. When you upgrade to WIndows 10, Microsoft literally turns you into a treasure trove of advertising and mass statistical currency, which saves them billions (cause they don't have to buy said information anymore) and makes them billions (because other companies would pay serious cash to access personalized information).
Hell, give us at least another 5 years!
I turned off automatic updates about 5 years ago on my win7 laptop. No problems.
same here XD. still works like a charm
True
When I realized how much drive space was being used up and how slow machines began getting, I, too, turned off all automatic updates on everything. Problem is these days, you don't have the option on Androids anymore. I get requests all the time to turn off auto-updates on Windows 10 machines. Making good spare money doing it.
Now my machines run like the did when I bought them. Many newer programs aren't worth the trouble to update the machine anyway.
How do I turn off automatic updates on my win7 laptop ? I/m so use to using windows 7 and don't wanna choose to buy another computer and I hear windows 10 is a lot worse and not user friendly !!!!
Jeffrey Elliott click start, control panel, scroll down to windows update and remove tick from box for automatic updates
I do not plan on switching at all to Windows 10. Windows 10 is NOT AN OPERATING SYSTEM. Its a spyware / advertising system.
Win-10 = Malware pretending to be an OS.
Ok have fun getting even more viruses on 7
LOL. What makes you think I am going to get viruses. Just keep getting those updates for Windows 10 that are going to screw up your system.
Mister GGG never have never will
S- GAMER lol seems like those problems also carry over into your typing
Maybe some of us do not want Windows 10. I have a system running XP that works just fine.
XP was my favorite!
Your windows XP has been out of date for five years now and it is no longer supported if it gets a virus it can not be fixed and the computer will run very slow. I have a windows 10 and I like that it has many new features like a search engine on the task bar and checking my e-mails in the far right corner.

i run xpsp2 and sp3,vistasp3!!,anyhoo,get AOMEI bakupper, clone your HHD,if a virus gets you,you have a clean full system to plug in and get going no problem.
Clone your platform(s) back and forth every year or so to refresh all the data as drives loss magnetic flux like audio or video tapes did/do.
I am goin to add win 7 pro to my pc ,a ssd,and that too will be cloned to backup, after it has had all drivers installed and is a nice clean stable set up i'll clone it,then after while once i have folders etc videos yadda,i'll clone that to make sure it's up to date, each time i refresh the data by cloning i'll up date the current drive to be sure my back up is as close to the current drive status, unless it's a virus i can't fix.
Also download "Tron script" ,this is a collection of anti bloatware, anti virus ware etc, that will run start to finish maybe it will stop to ask you to press a key to run cc cleaner.
I did this a week or two ago and my pc ran 5 degrees cooler at the cpu,so there was crap running in the background.
I had to do a clone to a WD black 2Tb HDD for vista as i downloaded "McCAD" to view gerber files(pcb manufacture),it would not uninstall,so i cloned to the last version, which was only weeks old as i cloned my system to use Tron script,in case it screwed my pc,it did not as i said, and i did a full tron script again.
These two programs are free, can you believe it,AOMI backupper can be purchased with extra utilities, but for home use it has plenty of features to make sure you keep xp,vista etc running and in good shape.
I'm going to re-clone my system soon to get a nice clean stable version with my files all up to date,i had to re-make pcb component footprints and re-make circuits as i had made new stuff which wasn't on the copy clone i used, but a few weeks is better than lost forever.
Best wishes from me in scotland,
enjoy.
I have no intention of downgrading to Win10!

I did that with eight, turning off Windows updates to prevent it from doing that fucking auto upgrade to spyware Edition. And now I've run into a disasters problem for me. Because Microsoft an AMD decided to stop supporting Windows 8 2 years ago, video card in my computer that I've had in it for 7 years finally burnt out. I bought a cheap $70 replacement that would still have been an upgrade for the thing considering its age. Only to find out that because AMD no longer makes drivers for Windows 8 I can't use it for gaming. I had already planned on building a computer in Spring of 2020. But having this one die when it did is absolute agony for a hardcore gamer like me. I'm going out of my mind with boredom and I can't afford to build a new one yet, knowing that when I do I still have no choice but to go to spyware Edition if I want to play my games.
not to mention that 10 is still crap for gaming....despite what all the fan bois will tell you...
@Sonic Mobian 35 years in the IT world I have to say I trust that impending apocalypitic world more than I do Microsoft. It will all be okay.
People are still running Windows 98, 95, NT 4.0, XP, and MS DOS even for retro machines for gaming and such. Windows 7 will be no different really. I'd suggest saving that Windows 7 machine and preserving it as a retro gaming device you can use or sell later on. Old 486 and P5's are selling for around $150-300 a pop on Ebay. That Windows 7 machine could be worth more money down the road with a working Windows 7 install on it.
I still using it for programing 2way radio.

As long as the third-party anti-virus is still supported on Win 7, there are no worries.
Seems like that will continue for a long time as there is very little different depending on the OS they are protecting. And they know W7 like the back of their hand.
1. Third party antivirus ( unless it's corporate/business grade Bit defender or Viper) is equal to Windows Defender on a day on day off basis. It's a leapfrong constant contest as to which one has the most updated virus definitions versus AND versus which one can successfully get those definitions out to the Windows users the fastest.
2. Third party antivirus ( as well as Defender) DOESN'T prevent a PC from being infected when the individual user is mr. or mrs. " i'll click ANYTHING' happy including" warning ..your pc is infected...click here to check the report" and then when the idiot clicks on it...it downloads either something as simple but horrendous as a keylogger and just visually almost harmless popup adware and malware....or it's an infection in which encrypts the windows-installed storage drive and pop's up the greendot money ransomware " here I am...pay me money to unlock your PC" or " FBI knows wtf you did..pay money now or we come arrest you" type of shit.
3. Security updates, PER microshit, ENDS January 2020 sometime that month. Do you honestly people still using 7 are going to keep forking out money EACH and EVERY year afterward ( and that's assuming Microshit doesn't pull a Darth Vader and alts the deals) and the cost of that extended support literally doubles each year? Get real. A few might for the first two maybe three years tops..but then.,..even they will do the monetary math and search for a different solution. Some of them will end up joining the crapple world, while others will wise up and join linux. ( which is finally....now a realistic PC platform/world with very few exceptions thanks to more cross platform software being alive today, proton with STeam and Lutris for much more gaming compatibility ....at native performance- and that list of games continues growing even today btw- . )
Get real. You are clueless if you truly believe the gullible crap you posted a day or two ago involving MOST of the people who are still using Windows today.
Now Perhaps you are like me in that you KNOW how to avoid digital infects ( through obviously mostly using practical common sense while using a PC), but I'm talking about literally the dime a dozen idiot ( such as many retail clerks that George Carlin fittingly described as having a blurry buzzing bubble in front of their faces who need special help such as a swift slap to the back of their heads to wake them the hell up to pay attention to things).
Now if you were only speaking in the context of yourself or those who you know have much more surfing common sense and exercise that common sense as well as a motorcycle rider who is always aware and looking for his escape path and carefully watches light/intersections for the idiot cager ready to t bone him....then please know I meant no insult, but just explaining some facts here, and I ask that you ignore any part of my comment that is making it sound like I'm talking to you like Brian the dog has to scold Peter Griffin in Family Guy when Peter is talking out of his ass about something he is very obviously and/or gullible about.
The one thing I never forget from all the incompetence and unfortunate cyber security defeats the world around throughout these past two decades is that nothing is hack-proof and nothing is infection-proof if it can connect to the digital world supported by the world wide web ( software) and the internet ( the hardware) that is interconnected. There are only sensible , tried and true from experience, "layers" of protection and damage mitigation as well as reasonable and practical digital insurance options such as wise backup solutions.
I used to use windows 10 but after each update my pc started getting slower. So I uninstalled it and got back to Windows 7. A few weeks later I came to know that windows 7 is about to be obsolete. So I decided to dual boot my pc with Linux Mint 19.2 which I updated to Mint 19.3. I must say that I am extremely happy. It is far better than Windows 10. I only use Windows 7 for MS OFFICE. There's some misinformation as to your only options in this video. It will make people feel needlessly threatened. You can upgrade to Windows 10 for free without using the official upgrade option. Simply download the ISO from the Microsoft website onto a USB memory stick and install it, activating it (if you even choose to) by using your Windows 7 product key. Windows 10 can be used without activation though. Also going out and buying a new computer with Windows 10 pre-installed is not necessarily the answer. I've seen many low- to mid-end budget laptops that can't even run Windows 10 out-of-the-box because their hardware specs are so low. There are still many budget laptops that still come with only 2Gb RAM and many people run their laptops on battery power so that combination means that the laptop takes anywhere between 5-15 minutes just to boot up and be in a ready-to-use state. As long as people run some sort of anti-virus software and remain vigilant, there's no reason that home users, at least, need to feel pressured into upgrading.

@@kyleJohn1997 Windows 10 is definitely NOT an upgrade over 7 IMO. I don't want an OS that spies on me, can't be customized as much, downloads a bunch of crapware apps in the background, advertises for a bunch of nonsense in the start menu, looks like an OS that would be running on a child's toy, and most importantly isn't as stable and reliable. I have been using Windows 7 on one system or another since it came out in 2009 and I have NEVER had it fail to boot, and I have crashed it PLENTY of times from failed overclocking attempts and other issues. On the other hand, in 1 year of using Windows 10, I have had to reinstall it TWICE because it corrupted itself and couldn't boot after failed overclocking attempts. Blame me for overclocking if you want to, but Windows 7 tolerated the crashing without any issues for many years and Windows 10 failed me twice, so therefore Windows 7 is the more robust OS in my opinion.

@@Z10110 Linux Mint MATE is based on ubuntu but it is definitely simpler and better refined than Ubuntu with Unity for those coming from windows...
it is also complete but more resource wise for low spec PC... the most of the time speaking of machine running WIN7 you are speaking about dated machines also.
So Linux Mint with MATE desktop environment is definitely better than Ubuntu and UNITY d.e.
If you have to use it for professional use look carefully on specific licences.
I would argue for Cinnamon, but welcome to Mint - the gateway drug to Linux Distros.
If your are considering trying Linux, try Zorin OS or Linux Mint, they're the easiest ones. If someone ever tells you that standard Ubuntu is the easiest or the best option, that person is wrong.
Linux mint is based off Ubuntu. It's all Debian. Only real difference is the desktop environments by default.
@@Clone9673 I know, but standard Ubuntu shamefully comes with the GNOME desktop by default, which is not the best in terms of performance and it takes time to get used to and it's considerably harder to customize than other desktop environments. So it had be easier for a newbie to just try a different flavor of Ubuntu or a different distro
Let me introduce you to this thing called Linux...
Do you know if Windows 8.1 is going to be OK for a long time or should I put the free windows 10 on one of my PC's I have 3 Laptops, one is a 10. One is a 7 and I put the free 10 on from where you should us and it seems to be working good. But I have a 8.1 and wonder if I should put 10 on it well it is still free? Thanks so much for all your help and I watch you all the time. Have a nice day.
I have been using Microsoft Money on XP & 7 and have a lot of historical financial data saved which I don't want to lose. I understand that Windows 10 will not support Money so how do I manage if I upgrade to 10?
It's a business model...upgrade for upgrade's sake! Wouldn't it be nice if Windows 7 was the simply the last windows version made and that all they do is fix bugs and add new features? It could be that way, but nope...they won't be able to make $$$.

Microsoft EULA; a 62 page document, read it if you dare and then decide if you want to continue using Windows. Linux sounds like a great option.
That is totally correct. I even challenge all Windows fanboys out there, read the entire Eula then tell me you still love Windows.
If you are worried about spying, then the internet is not the place for you. ISP, Google, RUclips, Microsoft, Census, Amazon, Online Shopping, Browser, VPN and much more, they all collect data. If your not doing anything wrong what you worried about?

Extended Security Update support until 2023
What about running Windows 7 on a Linux box in a virtual machine?
Thanks to you, I installed Win10 three weeks ago after 7 years of win7. Ironically, right? I have watched all your tutorials on windows 10, how to adjust it or get rid of things that are not necessary for optimal functioning. I am extremely pleased. Thanks!
RIP windows 7 I held onto to her until the end now onto windows 10
Very simple! Create a VHD (MS tool Disk to VHD) and you can run it as a virtual machine in the Virtualbox application (under Windows or Linux).
How about using window 7 to install window 10 in virtual box to internet some non useful website. But normally main website such as facebook and youtube are still using window 7. And also keeping to install AVG protection.
I mean Windows 10 is fine, but I really love windows 7 because it reminds me of those old memories
i got angry at windows 10 poured water on it 6 months ago until it frozed and muted
A X- Windows Fanboy. I hate to say it but after nearly 30-years of windows I would recommend Linux or Mac to people who ask me now :-(
I still use Windows 7 on one of my main computers and one of my secondary computers. They are staying on 7 for now. I have no desire to update at this moment. I will wait on those systems until program support gets more limited. Then I will dual boot the main one and not do anything with the secondary one. I have my main main computer on Windows 10, but it’s a Ryzen system so installing Windows 7 on it is a pain in the butt. I still run a couple computers on Windows XP and haven’t had many problems so I think I know what I’m doing. Plus, if the free extended security hack is legit, I just might run that for awhile even though I don’t care.
When you buy a new laptop with Windows 10 can they save all your information from your old laptop with Windows
I turned off Windows Update as soon as I got my laptop with Win 7 and own an extra copy of Win 7. I use a firewall, VPN, anti-virus and anti-malware which should make it harder for nasties to get onto my system. I don't trust Microsoft not to intentionally screw up my system with some end-of-life update so I don't intend to upgrade the OS ever again. I realize eventually some programs will stop working because they require some new update but I will soldier on with my system as is as long as possible. I've had no problems up until now. Incidentally, there's no problem running older Windows OS for use without internet access as long as you accept the limitations of each version. Don't believe you *must* have the latest whizbang program for most normal personal computing.
And you always have the option of MS-DOS if everything else fails... but it's ancient.
Windows 7 : ends support
Hackers : it's free real estate
Actually the hackers will start targeting Windows 10 because tons of not-so-computer-knowledgeable people are going to be on windows 10 so it makes sense to target windows 10
Same thing when support ended for XP?
Thanks Brian. Do you know yet if you can re-install Windows 10 on a Windows 7 PC (Windows 7 originally, but which has been updated to Windows 10 for free before the expiration) AFTER the deadline expires -- if you have to format and reinstall everything?
In other words, I updated for free, but what happens 8 months from the deadline if my hard drive needs to be replaced - will I be able to use a Win 10 ISO to reinstall on that PC at that point?
Seven Generations clone your drive just in case your HDD dies.
@@allthingsTechrelated Good idea, thank you.
Win 10 registration and activation is tied to your hardware instead of a product key, so you can just reinstall it
I will continue to use win 7 with no internet, and Linux Mint for internet access on my two desktops. Win 7 is far netter than the win 10 bundled spyware.
It's like buying a car or bike that you can't use anymore because the manufacturer won't guarantee it will keep working! Your bicycle is 20 years old and might fall apart while you are riding it, you MUST now buy a new one. Why doesn't Microsoft just make "Windows", no versions like XP, 10, Me, 95... Just Windows, you buy it, it works, they keep it safe from viruses. I realize it would be difficult to upgrade the kernel, such as allowing for an upgrade from 64 bits to 128 if you only have one major version to work with. But do you think they would actually re-engineer the kernel anyway? They'd probably just re-compile it with the 128 bit option.
when xp first came out, I stopped updates & quit letting microsoft use my internet connection for useless updates that only take up hard drive space. which was also about the same time John McAffe stated if you don't want viruses don't install anti-virus programs. I have been over ten years, with out having an anti virus programs slow down the computer.
Simple. Install Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon.

I run a win 7 & win 10 dual boot setup. (my last dual boot was win XP & win Vista) Verified that 7 is the latest build, updated Norton, disabled network controller. I keep win 7 for a driving game, Test Drive Unlimited, that I can run offline. Will likely uninstall win 7 at some point, but it's a bit of a pain to reparation the drives and reinstall win 10. Sounds like a good Spring cleaning project. Happy New Year to all!
I've had Windows 10 for a long time and don't see why some people are speaking negatively about it.
Theories include..
1. They have no issues, but want to jump on the "I hate Windows 10" bandwagon.
2. Their PC is shit.
3. It's just different and they don't like change.
I had windows 10 for 3 years (it came with my laptop), about once every couple of months I would get blue screens. Around a year ago my windows 10 got completely corrupted and I had to wipe my laptop. I installed windows 7 and it has worked perfectly ever since. Heck my games and programs even run better. I find windows 7 to just be much better, much more stable and I think it looks a lot better as well. It's also easier to use and more orderly in my opinion
Side note, I'm very responsible with what I download and I've never gotten a virus.
So yes, I have a negative opinion of windows 10 and in my mind it's completely justified.
Apparently you have not looked at all the adware and spyware that you are now running and how many times a day your information is sent out over the internet to somewhere in the unknown and that MS is getting paid to do that. Lots of luck dealing with it. BUT AT LEAST RESEARCH AND BE AWARE OF IT.

The problem is when someone mentions a REASONABLE path out of the mental quick sand that is microshit and THEM being used as the product ( literally..microshit has been selling customer data for literally about decades now..probably even since 98se)....NOT enough Windows users have had that moment Dave Ramsey talks about " I'VE...HAD IT...I'VE HAD ENOUGH! Those same complacent people forget that at one time, they were COMPLETELY new to using Windows and it was a learning curve about it, and that they are afraid their simple basic PC using skills ( moving a mouse cursor..left clicking....pressing the start button on the keyboard to open a similar-type menu of options..etc) won't work or won't work the same , enough, in the linux world assuming there is just one operation system.
It's all kinds of " but what if I can't " excuses.
It's this OVERALL dead-end that those complacent and lazy people MUST mentally push themselves to overcome , enough of them that is, before enough will migrate 100% to linux and force microshit to change ( which ...they probably won't...because data-mining and data-selling is the pinnacle of market profit for a big wig company like Microshit)
What a paradox..eh?

6. Install Spybot Anti-Beacon
Mint cinnamon is the most windows user esque linux distro in my experience, you should make a video about the best beginner distros!
You can run any Desktop Environment or Window Manager on any Linux distribution. You just install it, then use it. If you know what you're doing you can even run a few X sessions each with a different DE or WM going all at the same time! Anyone that really likes Windows should just run Windows though. As no Linux is quite like Windows. People that have been running Win 7 for this long are Microsoft heads. We like what we get used to.
The best distributions for those brand new to Linux are Zorin, Linux Mint, Linux Lite, ChaletOS, MX Linux, Elementary OS, or Ubuntu.

But despite all the dire prognostications you can keep that window open, install a VPN, anti-virus, malware and spyware, keep your backup updated, which if you're worried about security you should be using anyway, so not much changes in the end.

Since I have been using Linux on my main system for years the simple fix for W7 for me is just to disconnect it from the web. I use Linux for everything and for those programs that don't run well I have W7. No problems.
Anyone dumb enough to depend of Microsoft for security gets exactly what
they deserve. Get a good antivirus like Avast and turn OFF all
automatic updates. Keeps your machine from constantly updating and
finally bloating your system making it slower and slower.
I made a good living reversing what the underhanded tactics of Microsoft
on old Windows XP users. The final automatic update when support ended
slowed the machines down to a CRAWL. I mean click, get coffee, use the
bathroom and your program MIGHT actually come up. Kill all automatic
updates and everyone got their quick machines back. Because of that, I
have since turned off ALL automatic updates on mine and friends
computers.
I will use Windows 7 until I can't get anything to work on it.
I do the exact same as you do, and I have 4 brand new Win-7 laptops sitting in my closet, waiting for the day my old Win-7 laptop dies and needs replacing (that happens about every 5 years). So I'm going to be using Win-7 for at least another 20 years, which is basically the rest of my life.
I know what you mean! I just bought a "new" laptop since my old one would only hold 2 gigs of RAM. "New" one is a Dell dual core with 8gigs of RAM. Paid $100 for it. Can't beat it with a stick. I decided I don't need a heater in my room with a quad core. All my machines are dual core Win 7 with 8 gigs of RAM. Been that way 10 years and plan to stay that way.
Oh you’re one of those guys ok
A good alternative is to switch to another operating system. Many of us have started using a Linux style operating system. The various Linux distributions, which are free to download and free to use and don't spy on you like microsoft does, have free software apps to use which are excellent replacements for programs like Photoshop and Microsoft Office. They just take a bit of getting used to. I haven't regretted getting rid of microsoft, which I did when they first announced they would be forcing us to use win10.
Do not forget open office also freeware. It has a version that works with linux.
You don't even have to replace microsoft office since there's a web version now days so if you really don't want to switch from microsoft office you can just use it in your browser.
@@VickyGeagan LibreOffice is not freeware, it's a term often used for proprietary software that is offered for free. It is in fact free software, which is not only free in price but also respects user's freedom and has user on the 1st spot, in contrast to proprietary software which has it's company on the first place and users are only subjects / source of income.
The problem with Linux is most softwares aren't supported on it.
@@JonathanIsmaila Most proprietary software indeed. Most open-source software is outright availible and there are really high-quality FOSS packages like VLC, MPV, KODI, LibreOffice, Blender, Lutris, KDenLive, OBS, GIMP, Krita, Audacity, LMMS, Jamovi, most emulators and many many others. Steam with proton is also supported.
