This is my favorite incarnation of queens, when it was queens, and eleven. Alain, Natasha, and Joey were...eleven. there is no eleven without Natasha, R.I.P you most amazingly talented Woman....You are missed!!!!!
But he ALWAYS messes the tempo up for the rest of the band. None of their other drummers have done that, only Joey. He's got the power and energy, but he can't keep tempo worth shit.
claro que si,es un batero de enormes energias al igual q el otro batero de color thomas pridgen muy zarpado tambien el toque(la pegada),y el ultimo que estubo en q.o.t.s.a y mars volta jon theodore los 3 unos mounstros saludos
Agree, but looking back to my 20s I'm TRULY amazed it was even this good for Australia during the 90s-late 00s... Everyone was high AF in the mid 00s in Aus pre the meth flood and extreme MDMA/minor LSD shortages of ~08-2012. I was at most Aus QOTSA gigs (plus any decent touring bands or psychedelic festivals between my own drumming gigs) including this 05 QOTSA gig on the east coast. The best Aus QOTSA shows were the 03 big day out shows/side shows where the entire bands frying with the crowd and Josh literally states at Gold Coast big day out they've been smothered in gifts of drugs before opening with feel good hit of the summer as a thank you (you can find it on RUclips, the crowds not going off because it's sunset on a mid to high 30s Celcius ~100% humidity day with bands from 10am. Further south in Sydney and Melbourne it commonly hit 40+ or well over 100f with no shade for 50-70k people). Aus was truly flooded during the era of this gig with European import pingers, local MDMA crystal, loads of LSD, psychedelic phenethylamines/empathogens like 2cb/2ce/2ci and this gig is on the central coast where some of the finest herb has been grown for 50+yrs. Great memories. Few people at the show gave a rats about the bad mixing 😍
It was a great era with Nick, but didn't he bash a woman on top of many other dodgy things that lead to him getting the flick? I love the guy, but fucking hate when dudes hit women... He's visited Aus loads since parting with QOTSA. Jamming with local Melbourne rock legends such as My Left Boot at famous rock institutions like Cherry Bar on ACDC lane. The Aus QOTSA gigs in 03 with Nick were insane. Almost up there with my favourite Primus and Tool shows of the late 90s and 00s. If only Dave Grohl drummed on that tour! He was there, but being lazy just cashing in headlining with Foo Fighters 😏
Nope, hear Jon Teodore and Dave Grohl. They played the songs live in tempos very closer to the studio versions. Even Castillo improved this on your performance after 2010. In your first years on QOTSA he rushed a lot the songs. I like your drum play, but he was very better when he fixed this tendency to up a lot the tempos.
They played it! But I think it didn't make the final edit because cunt security fucked up the 2nd verse Joey didn't stop drumming so they picked it back up beautifully - you can find phone footage on RUclips.
+Camillo Battilossi Stop spreading that shit. Joey was fired because of creative differences. He was their drummer for 10 years for a reason, they played faster at this point because they could, and it's more energetic. As they aged they've slowed down, shows from 2010 and 2011 were closer to album tempo and Joey was still in the band.
Time for an eye and ear test Jimmy!!! 😂😂😂😂 Grohl wasn't even drumming with QOTSA in 03 when they were shredding Australian Big Day Outs and side shows. His last QOTSA gig was in Japan after lots of 02 shows years before this gig. Dave states to an interviewer in Japan that it was sad to have other commitments because he loved drumming for queens. In his words they have the best of all rock music world's - heavy through slow and very melodic. Grohl was head lining the same Big Day Out tour with Foo Fighters in Aus 03. QOTSA were usually higher than the crowds they played for and it was FUCKING glorious being spangled in those 00s crowds. I had to go to the northern hemisphere to see Dave Grohl drumming with them in 02. Worth every cent 👌
2023 tour has me obsessing down this qotsa rabbit hole. Any other psycho fans? Love the old stuff man 😍
I’m glad I’m not the only one 😅
I been watching these 2005 videos like they’re going out of style! This line up smashes!
I absolutely loved this QOTSA line up. Thanks Natasha for giving your all to this beautiful thing. Rest in peace.
R.I.P. Natasha. 💞
9:50 Joey just casually blowing bubbles while killing it 😅
He’s def my fav queens drummer
Fuck Joey went nuts in this. Miss his energy and big beats. John is great but Joey was a killer.
This is my favorite incarnation of queens, when it was queens, and eleven. Alain, Natasha, and Joey were...eleven. there is no eleven without Natasha, R.I.P you most amazingly talented Woman....You are missed!!!!!
if they could play more often "Everybody knows that you're insane..." god.
I have watched so many from 2005+ waiting for it to pop up! One of my fav songs
Rip Natasha
Joey Castillo has a strong energy behind the drums in this band
men, oh men, where do they all find the time?
But he ALWAYS messes the tempo up for the rest of the band. None of their other drummers have done that, only Joey. He's got the power and energy, but he can't keep tempo worth shit.
Does he really though? Point out when he does it in this show.
Azliane no he doesn't. They speed up live on purpose

Just pointing out that at 26:12 Castillo is fucking steaming.
Epic.
Long live Natasha Shneider!
Can only put up one official thumbs up so
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Those Josh/Natasha harmonies on Song For The Dead are just beautiful!
Finally, a decent version of In My Head.
This is my favorite Natasha era song.
Belfort 2005 and 2007 are both very good versions
Seems like the monsters in the parasol invaded Josh's mic and fucked it up
Never gets old. One of the few bands today that are better live than on the album.
Alain and Natasha! Great line-up
We need a better quality of this concert.... hope one day will be released nonetheless thanks QOTSA Archive
Wow. What a great setlist.
i just love those "jams" in the middle of songs :D
26:12
Joey is an animal on drums. I love it.
About time Everyone you know that you're insane was on a 2005 set list!
Natasha and Alain!!
oh my god, they’re going so fast in song for the dead
Joey
Joey
Not Joey. And... GOOD!
I love how Joey used to push the tempo in this era. I had to check my playback speed. Lol.
Baddest ass band around!
This is my fav queens line up!
what a gem!
saw them the enmore in Syd in year 10 on this tour. 2 nights. Life changing. still the best shows of my life
Perfect playlist ! ... Awesome
Thank You QOFTSA..... Without Your Jams.... I WOULD.BE VERY SICK...............
I was 7 months pregnant at this gig. Also the last time I seen them live here in Aus. So keen to see them when they're here next year!
Did you go see them yet?
awesome upload, damn 6 Lullabies tracks, so rare :)
I love this tour so much 🌷🐇👏
What a good performance. proper vocal levels got better into the show
Thanks my man! Damn I wish they played more deep cut LTP on this tour. I'd love to hear Insane and Plaid in Oct.
Better days!
are my eyes deceiving me or is Troy playing bass on Little Sister?
So awesome...
Coolest thumbnail.
best wishes!
Avon: genius!
what was the guy mixing this thinking? was he even doing his job man... come oooon

I've heard recently that Oz grows some fine mota (from a new online friend who lives there).
no Alain solo?
Needs more Nick..
So much more drive with oliveri
It was a great era with Nick, but didn't he bash a woman on top of many other dodgy things that lead to him getting the flick? I love the guy, but fucking hate when dudes hit women...

Joey plays so fast it speeds up the tempo of every song
Always. so talented, but this era was filled with uppers
Are you in a band? When playing live this is almost inevitable no matter who your drummer is. Know how many drummer jokes touch this subject? 🤣
It’s call rock and roll.

@@boomershooterlegend disagree.
crappy camera man bouncing around too much! Slow down!
Can't believe there is no no one knows

18:03-18:10 sounds like a Muse riff ??
Yeah specifically the end of hyper music
WHY DO THEY ALWAYS PLAY SO DAMN FAST?
+Lucas Fiction I prefer it faster.
+Lucas Fiction So they can fit more songs into their set list.
+Camillo Battilossi are you an idiot?
+Andrew Cochrane No, he's right! Joey would snort so many lines that he couldn't keep a tempo for shit!
+Camillo Battilossi Stop spreading that shit. Joey was fired because of creative differences. Dave Grohl was spot on this night. I’ll never forget it.
lmao

😂😂😂😂

Not to hate on Joey, but I like Jon so much more
R I P keybord girl
Also, Natasha > Dean
