  • Here's a review of my Gransfors Bruk Wildlife Hatchet. It's just an amazing tool, I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy one years ago. I bought it at www.mountainsports.com. Enjoy!

On their website they actually do say it's meant for splitting. Quote; The axe is capable of lopping off quite large branches or splitting small logs for the campfire.

It will, just a very thin profile, so only for very small stuff.

Great video. Got the wildlife axe as a gift from my wife and everything you said about it is 100% true, as soon as i held the hatchet i fell in love.i would never bother with a knife again.

I got my Wildlife Hatchet in this week and I agree how sharp it was from the factory! Without any stropping it cut through a sheet of paper as good if not better than some new Mora knives I can hardly wait to try it out on some wood and do some carving with it.

Yeah, it's a great piece! I think it's the perfect hatchet. The weight, the size, everything. Enjoy, but be careful!

Nice video. Ive had mine for awhile. Two points: a good place to buy these is ll bean when they have their 25% off sale. Also Omaha knife sells replacement handles designed for this hatchet. Your heirs will thank you.

I've been using GB for about 6 years now. They make excellent axes, but their sheathes, while functional, are quite ugly and cheap.
