Gransfors Bruk Wildlife Hatchet Review. Lots of Chopping, Hacking, and some Drinking.

  • The Gransfors Bruk Wildlife Hatchet is a light weight hand axe for all of your outdoor bushcraft adventuring. It features the same head as their Hand Hatchet, but with a longer handle. I'm not good at any of those, but it's perfect for yardwork, breaking up logs, and limbing bamboo. Lots of hard and not so hard use field testing in this video. This review compares it to an Estwing Sportsman's Axe, a Council Tool, and a Hults Bruk.

    My wife and I love Gransfors axes, however most of the real men we hire to provide her physical pleasure do indeed prefer a vintage american axe that they (naturally) have restored themselves.

    I coached Wranglerstar's wife, Jess, in a marathon to qualify for Boston, then sent her a Boston plan, and she did fantastic. She's a super sweet lady, and, though we've never met in person, she was a great runner to coach. She followed my plan to a T. They did a shout-out to me in one of their videos, and it was funny to hear them thank "Panther." I actually sent Cody a Ganzo knife, because I watched that video where he said he lost his Benchmade, and, in retrospect, I regret sending him that. Anyway....small world. (There was no sarcasm in this comment, which is a first.)

    I am pretty sure you were battening the ace to prove a point, but in case you were not; please don’t continueto do that . Good way to ruin the axe apparently. Also when splitting small wood that will not stand on its own use a dummy stick so save your hand some nasty injuries.

      So the video where I make a shitty hammer to hit an axe is the one that’s too far for you.

      +Advanced Knife Bro well the advice about using a dummy stick is sincere... watching somone neary cut their own thumb off with a knife sharp axe on video puts my own and other people’s bad habits into perspective. About the batoning; no one else was doing it and you practically asked for the advice in the video. Stay safe. 👍

      That woman and I were doing two different things. I held the long and tapped the top once. She was holding the log while chopping the top, and lifting the log off the stump. Also... the satirical element of the over size piece of rotten wood aside... batoning an axe with wood is fine.

      I generally don't do it though- just for the laughs. Hitting the back of an axe with a hammer or metal instrument will damage it though- but that's a huge difference.

    What’s the next size up from this hatchet? The “GFB Hunting Axe”?

    • @AdvancedKnifeBro
      @AdvancedKnifeBro  5 лет назад

      Maybe the small forest axe? Looks like a similar sized head but a longer handle.

      Don't own both, can't answer the question. This video might help though.

    Zero interest in the products you review, (mostly) but still watch for the slightly dull but still satisfying humor. Good day my friend. May a snake hair woman vomit a ray of sunshine upon you during life frequent dark moments

    Your ability to resist making an axe/ask joke for more than 6 minutes is what sets you apart from the other axe reviewers.
