Been sitting here this morning missing my dear sister from another mister Jerilyn Brandelius, who is one the many, many folks we could not gather to give a proper sendoff in 2020. And I found myself up here on RUclips hunting for a fresh take on 'Birdsong' to send out into the stars with a little piece of my heart. This was it. My deep thanks to the Tietjen family for the comfort.
I’ve heard many renditions of this song too and found this on pointe and what my ears were wanting to hear. They’ve even done a cover of the song Willin’ by Lowell George which I’ve heard many covers and I like their take on it.
iam no fanatic dead head. but i do know the tunes. always liked Birdsong. Just stumbled onto this vid....wow. This group did a fantastic rendition. Singing was awesome. Band was on point. Good job.
So fine! Will go next to their version of GDTRFB & Attics. These voices are strong, pure, practiced, and wonderful...thank you so much for spreading joy!
I don't know if you girls read these posts, but I met you a couple years ago, 2015 I think...You performed at a ranch near the John Day Fossil Beds. I"m the short, long-haired red head that took a photo with you girls. I still have it. It was a lovely, soft summer evening.
I have a playlist of nothing but different Birdsongs from the Dead. One of my absolute favorites of all time. I love the harmony here. The banjo looks suspiciously like a Ramsey. Could be wrong, but they are awesome banjos. Personally, the guitar work in this recording is a little too much for me. Dude has chops, no doubt. I just have different taste.

Geez ! I am not familiar with this band at all, but I am blown away by this great performance. The T Sisters are really excellent.

Classic version, so glad the T Sisters did a full on performance video, Jerry (and Janis) are tearing up in heaven listening! Thanx Ts
wailinburnin Lets hope they know who it was written for. I can't stand it when I hear someone covering a tune but has no earthly idea what it's about.
Thanks for playing last night!
That's a great sound...and trippy, the way a Dead song should be.
these harmonies are just lovely.
Saw them this evening here in Chico. So good, and they played the lovely "Bird Song" splendidly....

Roll them bones!!!
Look I love the Dead but I just have to say that this band is pointing out how you do good harmonies, wink wink.

Jerry would be pleased.

Re-shoot this with camera on singers during vocals
Dang, that is fine.
Christ! You got to go to California to hear decent music.
camera should be on all 3 faces when they're singing
Meh not for me....
