This worked perfectly! I lost water to both the water dispenser and the ice maker. If I selected water and pressed in the dispenser I could hear the pump running, but no water. I still had power to the dispenser buttons, etc. I used a spare filter to ensure that the problem was not my filter. I verified that my door switch was still functioning. I checked to make sure I had good water pressure from the wall as well. Based on the above I ordered a new water inlet valve. Replacing the water inlet valve did the trick and installation was very straight forward thanks to this video! Big thanks to PartSelect for the part and the install video!!!!!
I can't believe how much confidence these videos provide the do-it-youselfer. Everyone should patronize this business when making repairs, to support these efforts that ultimately save us $$!
This video helped out a bunch! The inlet tubes that were on my Fridge had threaded screws rather than the push in type, so I wasn't sure what to do. Once I saw how the newer connection worked in this video, I just cut them off, shoved them in, and I was good to go. Thanks!
By the way, this ALSO fixed our ice maker from freezing up, which has plagued us for over a DECADE! Every 2 weeks or so we would have to put hot water in the tube feeding the ice container to thaw frozen water blockage. Replacing the valve has fixed that issue as well!!!!
Would the water inlet valve be the problem if the ice machine is not making ice but the water dispenser is still working. Made sure the line from the inlet valve to ice maker is not clogged, and the "arm" is in the on position.
The inlet water valve could be your problem or the problem may be with the ice maker control module. You can check the water valve by exchanging the input wire harness from the dispenser coil side to the ice maker coil side and then select water dispense for a few seconds. If you get water going into the icemaker mould then the valve is ok. Use caution around electrical circuits and good luck with your repair.
I just replaced my valve tonight. I have a Frigidaire FFHS2322MBB. I still have no ice or water. I have great water pressure. I can feel the water going thru the water line. I took the filter out and it had water. What else can I check?
hello i have a question i have a frigidaire model LFSS2612TE0 i can’t seem to get water in the dispenser nor the ice making machine what could be wrong this fridge does have the filter on top. Could it be that i need to replace my filter or the part in the back with all them hoses? also i don’t know the year of my fridge
Hi - I have a Kitchenaide KSSC42QKS01. Behind the ice maker there is a plume of ice coming down from the fill tube area. Would this be an ice maker problem or the solenoid valve leaking water when it is supposed to be off?
Followed all the steps and still have no ice. I have water though. I’ve replace my water filter as well. I wish I knew what the issue was. How long does it take to normally make ice? I have the Frigidaire Gallery Side-by-Side FFUS2613LS0
(I don't know if this channel is still monitored for comments) I seem to have an electrical issue now - there is a loud buzzing sound and no water when dispensing. Everything was straightforward on the install, and no leaks... But it is no longer working. Thoughts? Great video and thanks for having it available 👍
the loud buzzing is likely the inlet vale coil being operated, with out water flowing thru the valve the noise is loud, with water flowing it muffles that noise. Check to make sure the water is turned on, I know but I have t mention it. Depending on the valve you may have the hoses reversed, maybe check that as well.
@@partselect thanks for the quick response. We checked all the lines and one (yellow) was cracked. We replaced the line and checked the home water pressure and brought it back up to 65psi. All is working well now:) thanks for the video!
Hi, thanks for the video. I'm trying to figure out where the problem with mine is. Was working great (had it since '08) and suddenly stopped making ice. Mainly want to know if the ice maker moves does that mean it's ok? When I take the cover off, the gear will move making the wire move also, but no water coming in. thank you
I have a Frigidaire side by side refrigerator(model number FRS6R5ESB6)and I replaced this valve and it's still not getting water to the ice maker but I'm getting water from the water dispenser.HELP
Hi Dicky, remove the cover on the front of your icemaker and insert an insulated jumper wire,(about 14 gauge), between the terminal ports marked “T” and “H”. I would suggest leaving it there for about 15 seconds which will start a test harvest cycle. Remove the jumper and wait until the icemaker completes its cycle. At the end of the cycle when the bail arm drops back down, the water valve should be energized for about 7 to 9 seconds. You should hear a slight hum from the solenoid at that time. If not, suspect a faulty icemaker control. If you hear the humming sound but get no water, suspect that the water inlet tube to the icemaker fill cup is frozen.
We are having issues, you seem on point. The fan is not working in the back, ice maker and water ceased. Model number is fphs2699pf4a Professional Frigidaire - advice? The rest of the unit is operable - thanks!!!
The clogged to water dispenser cause water leaking at the valve when pressing dispenser while no water is out. Clogged was removed and water dispenser working but leaking still. I have installed a new inlet valve, but when the water is used or ice making, it leaks (at the valve connect to the white tube -1 valve) Should I trim the end of the tubing ? what is the cause?
we have replaced this part but it is still not making ice. replaced starter relay and capacitor originally - it stopped making ice after relay was installed. line does not appear to be frozen. water dispenser works. did we wire it wrong, or do we need an ice maker control module? again, it was making ice previously and only stopped after we put the relay in. and yes, the arm in the ice maker is moving.
Make sure both harness connectors are attached at the water valve. Are you saying that the ejector arm in the ice maker will rotate but there is no cubes to eject?
Hi, my fridge stopped making ice and stop dispensing water. I changed the inlet valve. But still no. Ice nor water. When I press the water dispenser it makes a creaking sound, no water come out, no ice. How long after the inlet valve is changed does it take to start dispensing water?
Hello, it can sometimes take up to 24 hours for your ice maker to make ice once it has been replaced. Here is a video to help you trouble shoot why the water dispenser is not working. ruclips.net/video/Q8PMGWyvry4I/видео.htmlf that doesn’t help please supply your model number and I can research this further for you.
Model FRS26KF6EM4a: When ice maker is on (wire in ice bucket is down), I get periodic dispensing of about 4 ounces of water through water dispenser tube. When ice maker is off (bucket full), it doesn't happen, though all else works - dispensing water, dispensing ice. Earlier the water dispensing did not work so I replaced the micro-switch for water dispensing as it had appearances of a big over-current event. But it had the same problem with periodic dispensing through the water tube. Seems like diodes bad? How do I further troubleshoot?
+PartSelect Thanks for the suggestion! I replaced the diode "kit" and now get water dispensed without water into the ice maker. However no ice being made. Tried swapping connections to the solenoid a and got good humming but no water up the tube to the ice maker. Replacing the three solenoid valve next? Or the ice maker itself? Thanks for your experience!
Verify that you don’t have a frozen water line or inlet tube to the ice maker. On models that have a three solenoid valve, one of the solenoids is used to operate the water line through the filter, so it must be energized at the same time that either the dispenser or the icemaker solenoids are activated. You can try putting the ice maker through a test harvest by holding an insulated jumper wire between terminals T and H with the bail arm down. This will activate a cycle and the inlet valve will get energized for about 7-9 seconds after the ejector arm have rotated. This is a live voltage test and caution should be used.
Working on Kenmore model #795.51026.010. My problem is the water dispenser over fills the tray and when the ice maker rotates to dispense the ice, it will not dump the ice. Is the problem with the water valve or ice maker itself?
If your water dispenser is not shutting off completely, I would suspect the inlet valve may be the problem. Are you referring to the ice bin auger rotating or the ice maker ejector?
The water tray over fills and freezes hard so when the tray try to eject the ice it can't. It gets stuck and stops the cycle. I don't know how to control the amount of water entering the tray.
I need help. My Maytag Refrigerator water is not flowing and no ice too. I already changed the filter and inlet valve. There's a water flowing if I removed the filter. I don't know what to do.
I replaced my valve a week ago and I have water (never was the problem) but still no ice. Took the green line of the back of the fridge that goes to the icemaker and its bone dry, ice makers still not getting water.
I change my water filter and it was on the bottom and water come out the once I put the filter on the water stopped is there something wrong with my refrigerator
I have good water pressure going to the refrigerator but my ice maker tube keeps freezing up what could cause this and I'm getting water from the water dispenser.HELP
Hi, if your ice maker tube keeps freezing up check for any obstructions or debris in the fill tube and water line first. You could alsoremove the water line from the back that connects to the inlet fill tube and let the water line sit in a bucket or suitable container. Make sure that you shake all the water out of the tube. Turn off the ice maker with the bail arm or switch if your model has one, and then monitor the container for any signs of water coming out of the water line from the valve. If water continues to drip from the water line, then the valve is not shutting off mechanically. This can be caused by low water pressure or dirt in the valve diaphragm. If not water leaks into the container, then suspect that the fill tube is pushed too far into the ice maker cup or there may be an air leak near the fill tube that creates a frost or ice buildup in the tube. Hope this helps.
If it is leaking from the tubing connection, you may not have the tube inserted into the valve far enough, or you may need to trim the end of the tubing to obtain proper fit as shown at the 3:30 mark of the video.

it's FRS6HR5JSBO. I figure it's either the maker or the valve. Also, the water works fine next to the ice. thanks in advance!

That sounds like the dispenser control may be defective and activating both the dispenser valve and the icemaker valve at the same time.

cholan segal What model number is your fridge?
It is becos it goes thru a defrost cycle...clean the coils and remove all dirt from bottom of fridge
