    I disagree on the ride comments. The Expedition has IRS where the Tahoe has a solid axle and the Expedition has a smoother more refined ride and doesn’t bounce all over the place like the Tahoes solid axle. I own both a Yukon and a 3rd gen Expedition. The higher trim 3rd gen Expeditions have a lot of features GM didn’t have available. Heated/Cooled seats, PowerFold 3rd row, Electric liftgate, etc. this looks like a very basic model in the video.

      I just got a 2007 expedition for my first car it's the eddie bauer edition and I love it it's really smooth and even after having 240,000 miles it rides like its suspension is a cloud.

      Not to mention the Tahoes from '07 had really bad issues with the fuel management system.

    My family owns an Expedition from this gen. 2009 model year, also the XLT trim. It’s served my family EXTREMELY well through the years. We used it to drive it cross country to visit family, and it was also my dad’s main commuter for about 6 years. Got my drivers license earlier this year and I’ve been driving it. Has about 187k miles on it and still runs great, although the ride and idol are a tad shaky. Great review!!

    CORRECTION: The 2nd generation of the Ford Expedition was 2003 that continued to 2006. I only know because I bought a brand new 2004 Ford Expedition and did look at the 2003 models, which look identical. I opted for the 2004. The 2004 is such a great vehicle I still own it to this very day as it just hit 100k miles with everything working llike the day I bought it. I recently purchased a Lincoln Navigator. I love these vehicles!!

    When it comes to this era of SUVs, I have always like the Tahoe/Suburban more. In fact, I looked at a few others before I ever looked at the Expo. However, I am definitely sold on the fold flat 3rd row, vs having to remove the 3rd row in a Tahoe.

      Yes fold flat is nice. I'm liking the latest generation of the expedition too. I think Chevy has some serious competition in the new one.

    Mike C in 2015 the Expedition received a mid cycle refresh (including the EcoBoost engine you mentioned), including a much upgraded interior, and a slight change in the exterior styling.

    • @RANDOMHOBO01
      @RANDOMHOBO01 4 года назад

      The interior is almost identical 2007-2017. Seats, headliner, dash are all the same. The big interior update was in 2007, not much changed in the mid cycle 2015 refresh besides the center stack. In 2007 the 3rd gen received the 5.4L Triton paired with the 6R80. The 6 speed and interior were the big changes from the 2nd gen.

    The transmission on my Explorer just gave out. Might be upgrading to an Expedition. Also looking at a Sequoia 4X4, but the Toyotas cost so much even with higher mileage, its off putting. I know their longer lasting, but at almost 200,000 miles they should be cheaper lol. Im a cash kinda guy, really trying to avoid a payment but I gotta have 4WD & need a large vehicle.

    I was going to get a 3rd gen Expedition recently when I was out having to shop for a vehicle after my 2012 Fusion was “totaled” thru NO FAULT OF MY OWN…and it was between an 2010 Expedition with 175,000 miles and an ‘04 Expedition 2WD XLT SPORT W/5.4L with 126,000. As an automotive technician myself (although for job security reasons I went to school specifically for GM because I know they’ve been building and sell HOT GARBAGE since ‘08) I knew the 3V 5.4L’s had some serious issues with the cam phasers as well as some other stuff that COULD result in having to replace the engine. The only real issue with the ‘04 2 Valve 5.4L that I AM AWARE OF is the INFAMOUS “SPARK PLUG ISSUE” that anyone who’s owned a Ford from this ERA knows all about it. I still don’t understand how that even happens…YOU MEAN NO ONE WITH QUALITY CONTROL SAID “Hey guys, MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE MORE THAN 3 THREADS FOR OUR SPARK PLUGS!!!?? Anyways I decided on the ‘04 Expedition and outside of the ride noise being louder than I expected I LOVE THIS TRUCK…Well EXCEPT FOR THE FACT I ONLY GET 15.5-16 MPG ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH (but that’s to be expected because the MPG ratings the EPA gave back then were based off of traveling at 55 MPH because that was the national highway speed limit in ‘03 when this truck was sold if memory serves me correctly!!

    We have a 2006 Expy (Limited) AND a 20006 Tahoe (my wife's car). I'll take my Expy any day over the Tahoe. Though the Tahoe may seem like it has a slightly smoother ride--it feels kinda "fake" smooth. I don't know how to explain it--other than to say I feel like I feel more of the road in the Expedition--but not meaning it's rough; just a better feel of the road. And on dirt/bumpy roads? No question...our Expy is THE choice. It absorbs the bumps way betterh than the Tahoe. My Expedtiion has 225,000 miles on it; my wife's Tahoe has about 127,000. Both are running strong. But my Expy just feels like a more solid SUV.

      Had 06 Limited (White) too. Was nice trans took a crap at about 142k.. Soon after got rear ended and totaled. This was 3+ years ago in 2019. Went to Cadillac. If wasn’t for extended warranty I wouldn’t know what to do. Too many expensive repairs.

      To each their own. Some people prefer a truck to still ride like a truck. I don't understand, either. I was amazed at the difference between my 1998 Lincoln Navigator and the 2008 Expy. FRiends with Tahoes and suburbans all compliment the ride of the Expy, too.
