Well if the laptop is all good a little replacements and repairs are worth it. You can always keep such older machine as a backup. They are worth it because despite their age and not the best performance compared to Core iX based ones they just work well for normal internet browsing, movies, music, office software, some old and emulated games, programming, websites making etc. My HP550 works well on Linux Mint Mate and similar lightweight distros. It can be also used for tinkering like testing different operating systems etc.
I've replaced this battery, but laptop doesn't remember bios setting, when I uplug the charger and when I plug it in again, the laptop turns on, and I have to set up time. Do you know where is the issue? The battery keeps 3.3 volts.
Ideas: - Is the battery new? (does it have enough current also, or just the voltage is high?) - is the battery 2032 size? - are the + and - terminals making contact with the battery? - are the + and - terminals rusty/dirty?
That is stupid to make a battery that inaccessible! Maybe that is why I don't buy HP computers. Their test equipment is world class that I have a couple of HP computers that are just plain junk.
Thank you so much
I don't understand why they put it there, they just complicate life to people !!
I prefer buy another laptop rather than changing this battery !
:)) A small door would be useful, just like for the RAM or HDD.

holy crap, they do not want you to have access to that battery!
Faut il démonter tout le pc pour changer une pile ????

@@furulevi yes, I checked everything, but I thing problem is with solder between battery stand and mobo
Did you miss the screen detachment step? Or is it me didn't get it right?
I don't remember, try to do what's shown in the video...
@@furulevi I finally got it! The problem is, once I put it all back with the new battery as well, the screen stays blank.
which screwdrivers do you use to remove the screws?
Phillips head (plus sign). I also used an old flat head which had worn sides and thus it was conical at the tip.
I have a problem. I don't remember What chip is to be connected to the wires black and white that comes from the screen
Hai poi risolto?
Near to hard disk point
