India is under too much pressure with USA and Canada's extradition request for raw agent in assassination plot , so tried to show them india can pivot back to China
The bigger question is, can China trust India? Can the world trust India? As far as Nagaland is concerned, the Nagas find it very difficult to trust India, because it had signed several Agreements with the Nagas, which were discarded by India even before the ink got dry. The 1947 Akbar Hydari Agreement was declared null and void by India within hours of its signing. The 1960 16-point Agreement remains largely unimplemented, the 1966 ceasefire Agreement was abrogated by India, the 2015 Frameork Agreement and 2017 Agreed Position remains non-starters. How then can the Nagas and the world trust India? In Doklam troops were first moved by India, that too in Bhutan. Galwan was where Indian soldiers first moved towards the Chinese lines. But the Indian media glosses over these facts. Even the 1962 war is called "Chinese agression" in Indian text books, yet they ignore how Nehru's aggressive "Forward Policy" provoked the Chinese retaliation just in the way NATO expansion to Ukraine provoked Russia. The latest frictions in the India-China LAC was caused by Indian cartographic depiction, which showed large parts of China within India. India tried to pacify China saying these were "just maps" and doesn't mean anything on the ground. China completely rejected this argument. If my neighbour draws a map showing my land within his compound but says it doesn't change any real status on the ground, will I agree? I dont think any self respecting person will agree. Thats what happened in Galwan.
The British came to China and she took Hong Kong, Summer Palace Treasure, South Tibet and Ladakh. Then when India gained independence, she kept the ill gotten gain (South Tibet, renamed Arunarch Pradesh and Ladakh). The land are stolen by the British and it is illegal. Just like a thief who stole the property and passed to another person. Indian have never been able to go up the Himalayans due to steep mountain slope. Tibetan have been intermingle with the Chinese because of the geography merging with mainland China. By logic, India should give the ill gotten gain when British withdraw from within.
It simply isn't true that India was never able to cross the Himalaya range. Mt. Kailash, also known as Rimpoche, is the holiest mountain in Hinduism, considered to be the abode of Shiva. It is located in Tibet and Indians have been making pilgrimages to it for thousands of years before the CCP took over Tibet and blocked access. Numerous Indian kings also conquered parts of Tibet and present-day Xinjiang for hundreds of years. A well-known example is Emperor Kanishka of the Kushan dynasty. In fact, even the name Himalaya comes from Sanskrit, and all major peaks in the range have Indian names. And Buddhism itself traveled to China from India. So you have a very narrow understanding of history and India.
Why this hate and distrust, and trivial narrative always. If China and Russia can cooperate and have their trade and economy thrive , and friendship grow…. Stop your negative posturing
*My God, still harping on the insignificant border issue! Such small minds! Is it any wonder India remains a popular joke when compared with its neighbours!*
I hope people understand the fundamentals beneath the surface of the India China Border issues: 1) India China Border issues are GOOD for India. It creates a "security narrative" to keep India united. Nothing unites a people better than an overwhelming external threat, no matter how real that threat is. 2) China won't invade India. Conflict yes, war no. It is quite simple. India and China are separated by a HUGE WALL. China knows India cannot come over the WALL to invade China. And India knows China cannot sustain the logistics of supporting an invading army coming down from the WALL. They need to face billions of Indians on the plain. Not possible. 3) The armed conflict in 1962 is just that: an armed conflict. India wants to "Look North" (aka, squeeze and squat into South Tibet) and China confronted India with an iron fist. But there is no war. China quickly retreated because, again, there was a serious logistics issue to sustain its force on the other side of the WALL. 4) But India would use this minor 1962 armed conflict to create a security narrative that there is a "Scary Northern Dragon" ready to invade India. So, we Indians need to be united and fight that dragon! With this narrative, the Indian government can distract its people from domestic issues, when the needs rise. Indian military will use this security narrative to squeeze for more government funding. Indian media will use constant reporting on this scary neighbor to get more views. "China Threat" becomes an industry for many people. Of course we cannot give up this industry for "peace." Peace won't make money. Scare does. 5) More than four years ago, Modi gambled that Trump would be in office for yet another 4 years, and even more years if his VP win after he leaves the office. So, Modi instigated a border conflict with China, expecting that China was in the middle of a trade war and tech war with US, and it would make concession to India. But the plan backfired. China swiftly gave India a bloody nose. Worst yet, Trump left office right after, and Biden had not provided more FDI and friendshoring to India, just empty talks in QUAD. As result of the border conflict, India's thriving economic cooperation with China suffered greatly. The Chinese imports, including finished products, components, chemicals and heavy equipment continues to enter India, as India's GDP growth depends on them. But there is no infrastructure and manufacturing ecosystem corporation between India and China. This lack of cooperation contributes to the stagnated Make In India progress. India's manufacturing percentage in GDP actually dropped, not grown, since Modi took office. 6) At the end, Indian people lost. Instead of riding on the rise of China, Indians are constantly pulling back and forth about this China Threat, which results in chilled economic relationship with the biggest manufacturing nation on this planet. It is time for a change. Thus, you see the thawing of India China relationship, with the BRICS meeting as the catalyst. From China's perspective, as long as India sits on the fence, not completely siding with US/EU camp, it is GOOD ENOUGH. So, China smiles to India. India smiles to China. A new beginning. But for how long?
@@ddb0831 Which part? That India is not using China India border issue for political gain? The border between India and China are the safest in history. Have you ever seen a border that never had a war in history? Do you know why? There is a HUGE WALL that serves as the REAL BORDER. That is why. So why would India make a big deal out of this border situation over some barren rocks? It is obvious it is beneficial.
[ Biden had not provided more FDI and friendshoring to India ] this was NEVER the plan. why? because India will not lower tarriff on US goods, and so US will never lower tarriff on Indian goods. tarriff on India is higher than China. by what logic would American business invest in India? and why India can't lower tarriff to China's level is because it is not a market economy, the farmer don't make enough money in India to survive, if you open up the market to American food product. Indian farmer will DIE, remember the farm reform that cause a farmer protest? that was Modi's attempt to prepare for market reform. but he has to back off, because farmer is such a large voting bloc in India, you just can't leave them to die. alot of Indian's economic problem is internal. the trade policy is the result of internal problem and not the other way around.
