The AGENT 2 Review - Nighthawk Custom / Agency Arms 1911 / REAL USE

- The Nighthawk Custom / Agency Arms Agent 2 1911 collab is everything you hoped it would be. The Agent 2 is a work of art that also functions flawlessly as a great defensive pistol. This 1911 from Nighthawk can be had in .45 or 9mm, and I opted for the 9mm in this review. I basically talk about how the Agent 2 came into existence, its purpose, some of its features, and the age-old question - "is it worth it?" *Note, when I say it has these famous "Nighthawk" serrations - I really mean "Agency"...
IS IT WORTH IT? • IS IT WORTH IT??

But, is it worth it?? - ruclips.net/video/pGX78dD3gj8/видео.html
Fell in love and broke my heart all in 26 minutes.
I have one; the front site was loose pretty let down for $6000 gun including its upgrades…
Most people go through life without ever owning anything that is of true quality ... I'm an average guy with an average income and I'm still able to collect Nighthawks. Once you shoot one, everything else just feels like cheap crap.
Yes, without a doubt. I have always preferred having maybe 10-15 really high quality expensive firearms than multiple safes full of production run-of-the-mill guns.
Its amazing how so many gun people have little experience with 1911 nowadays, all they set their standard off is from glocks. Trigger, smoothness etc. I own both glock and a nighthawk AAC, and i carry both. By the way, nighthawk suggest not to drop the slide on an empty chamber, you can do it, but they dont suggest it.
It’s because glock did set the standard in terms of being boringly reliable.
I'm really glad I came across this video. I'm not sure how I missed it... but this was fantastic. After owning a Triarc TRI-11 2011 Spartan, I think my whole perspectives on pistols changed... I've shifted from polymer striker fire pistols to 2011/ 1911 platforms. I mean there are pros and cons to both... it's just a personal choice. A lot of people know Agency Arms for their Glock mods, but seeing them colab with Nighthawk to produce this beauty, it's so awesome. Anyway... I know it's been out for a couple years etc, but it's still amazing.
If I had the free coin, I'd have one in 45 on order! beautiful work Agency and Nighthawk! Slick review brother!
When you said to pick our jaws off the floor because of the price I had to look under the couch for it! Great pistol from all I've seen.
I am 30 years old and have many rounds down range. You might want to take a look at Wilson Combat EDC X9, new gen 1911. What I have learned over the years is that I do NOT like beaver tail safeties and bushing barrels!! The Wilson Combat EDC X9 has all of the features of a Glock 19 but it shoots waaaay better!!!! You really have to shoot the Wilson and then a Glock, you will be totally amazed on the difference!!
I have 2 EDC X9s. I have a Nighthawk with RMR on order. The EDCX9 is a great gun, but the lack of an RMR mount is sad.
Thanks for this video. After months of watching this video hundreds of times (about 300 or so views are mine), months of trying to try other non-1911s and 1911s to satisfy the Agent 2 what, I finally bite the bullet, pulled the trigger, and got the Agent 2 last week. I probably should have just skipped all the other guns I tried to fill the hole and just got the Agent 2.
Not sure if you'll even see this comment but if so, how do you like it? 2 years later are you happy you bought it? Was it worth the price?
How do you like it 4 years later? Hope you still got it.
insert trolling price comment here.
But, but...
Mrgunsngear Channel thats the best part of 1911 videos LOL
@@LastLineOfDefense hey brother, who did the Stippling on your p10c? I have the tactical version
My uncle bought one a month or so ago and it's sweet. Hard to say it's worth the price, buts it's pretty damn close. Quality and craftsmanship is out of this world. Great video as usual dude
I really liked the sportscar analogy and great review. Gives me more insight as I’m looking at potentially purchasing either the agency 2 vs Wilson combat’s CQB light rail.
Totally agreed with the comment about1911's being an older mans gun. Every older gent on our SWAT team carries a Springfield Operator TRP. After I shot one I found myself being a owner of one the next day. I really want this one now
Excellent video! Thanks for the review!
Wow so that’s how it is Mike? I’m just a commenter on RUclips? I thought what we had was special
Shhhh, don't let the others knows...
LOL that was perfect...
Yeah for the honourable mention of Jesus Christ.
production quality is top notch, great vid man
I have 4 NHC pistols and 1 Korth NHC revolver. Yeah if you appreciate craftsmanship and it is important to you and the price of this is not a problem for you- yeah it is great and worth it. The serrations are great in that they grip on recoil and other manipulation moments but are smooth. And they are tougher than the fine lines per inch milling usually done. So no banging it out.
You should get points for crashing their website on the day you posted the video and also get points for making the Wilson combat EDC 9 look cheap when comparing pricing.
Peter Grillone who designed what?
NH is pretty well built. I have two, a GRP and a Enforcer, both pretty really tight fitted. Also notice on the barrel hood scuffing, the lower lugs bears evenly on lock up.
Thanks for sticking up for the Christian crowd bro! Keep it up!
Xiomaro01 get that out of here
why?
wow, after seeing slow mo of the sights bouncing up and down, im so glad my 1911 is comped.
If you add all the expenses to upgrade a stock 1911 to that level, the price point would be right minus the hassles. Quality has its price.
I am waiting for the quadruple stack as carry capacity is the ONLY thing to consider in a gun, um, I mean platform.
Thanks for taking one for the team !
"they're gonna look at this gun like a lamborghini poster" i just bought a Lamborghini Aventador so game on haha. I owned an infinity firearms custom double stack before that was $5k with a 1.5 year build time, that was a sweet gun, and an ed brown special forces that was like $3200. sold them both.... in the end, they're 1911s. I just got a jagerworks black multicam p10c with an RMR type 2 and HB trigger, thats way more my style.
Everyone down below is comparing this gun with the EDC X9, this gun is $4500, the EDC X9 is $3000. Double stack, single stack. We've got a $1500 gap here. How does that work? Great video though! Thanks.
Some below not everyone below. Didn't want to get blasted. My bad.
The Railscales grips are actually dimensionally thinner than usual 1911 full size bushing grips and feel as such in the hand.
Beautiful and well thought out pistol. .45 or 9mm both rock in this gun
Must be amazing to see the making of one of these beauties...
Love your videos, I picked one up because of your video. I love it, thank you!!!
Awesome edit bro!
Nice gun LLOD! You deserve it bro!
My dream gun! Thanks for the review. If you have the coin and the price is right the go for it! I enjoy your content and the realistic way you review. Keep up the good work. Throw up a great photo or two on Instagram of the 1911
SICK video! Love the cinematic sequence!
All Nighthawks have so many man hours put into the assembly, fitting and finishing. What Ajgency Arms did here...just their own milling on the slide and grip? add the CereKote...and that makes it an Agent 2? for $4500 USD?? Sounds like it's all cosmetic....plus some fitting work. For me, that's not enough to motivate me to pick an Agent 2 over a Firehawk. Or any of their other offerings. At least the Firehawk has a built-in compensator...that's something that separates it..runs for roughly the same money IIRC...also around $4199...
For me, to buy a high dollar gun there has to be something that sets it apart. I'm not a collector nor a competitor (which IMHO should be the only reason to modify a gun...then seconds and consistent groupings matter). As some one that that goes plinking once or twice a month....home defence--laws work against making that possible here where I'm from...never mind the aftermath/legal aspects which is more a nightmare than the actual shooting...if you're able to shoot and possibly kill another human being...I digress...).
jI'm guessing you're seriously into competitive shooting. jHence the money spent on your polymer guns. Where the gjains matter.
At 23:46 into the video you say the 9mm is a more modern round. Did you know the 9mm was introduced in 1902, the .45 ACP was introduced in 1905, the 10mm Auto was introduced in 1983, and the .40 S&W was introduced in 1990? That means its the oldest cartridge of the 4 main semi-auto cartridges produced today, not the most modern.
In modern culture, it is the most adopted round, with the most amount of r&d behind it.
@@LastLineOfDefense9mm is still 117 years old.
That's a gorgeous piece!
Love the review! Definitely worth it IMO. What holster are you running?? I need one
Will be custom ordering one in the next few months.
Awesome. My favorite hand gun i own is dan Wesson specialist in 9mm. ITS AWESOME!!!
Awesome review man, thanks.
Is it worth it? A Porsche and a Volkswagen will both get you there. A Craftsman wrench and a SnapOn wrench will both turn the bolt. And a Glock and an Agent 2 will both go BANG! Only YOU can decide if it's worth it to you.
Precisely
Well, you buy a Hi Point and it'll go bang. It won't cost much, just your pride. Having sold guns for a good number of years, I know that people have different motivations for buying the guns they want. Some like collector's pieces, some like to have a little of each type of gun, some want a flagship model or crown jewel for their collection, some want nothing more than a tool. This wouldn't be anyone's "first" gun, but it might be their second or even *last* gun. You never know. Last week a guy came in looking to buy an Agent 2 from us, knowing our good relationship with Nighthawk Customs. He wanted it to be his barbecue gun - the gun he shows off to his friends.
I'm the guy who shoots the crap out of every gun I have, so I would never have a safe queen.
@@toddfeltman3748 the more you shoot that baby the better it gets.
I’m drooling. Mike, have you looked into a review of the new STI DVC double stack 2011? I think it may compete with the agent 2 if you haven’t. Would love to see that comparison!
I totally understand the weapon. I have an 2011 STI Edge that I love.
Nice review. I'm looking at getting a TRS commander with the IOS, placing an order in the next month. Will you make holsters for these? I live in Lone Tree so I'm not that far from you. thanks, Dan
Just recently got interested in NHC pistols- great video! Did you ever get an Agent 2? If so, are you still loving it? I'm thinking of ordering one in DLC. I know this video is a few years old but any updates would be appreciated. Thank you!
I hate when people say 9mm is a more modern round then the 45acp when 9x19 luger was invented in 1902 and 45 acp was invented 1907 they've both fought in 2 world wars
I wish I could shoot this before I decide to buy. Wish they made a carry version that with a 4.25” barrel
People at Nighthawk are just common folks who happen to make World Class 1911 Pistols.
Theres so many guns I want to buy. *looks at Cal id, shed tear* but ill never be able to own.
Hey Mike,
I enjoyed the video although the gun is not that interesting to me. I was most curious about your supposition that 1911's are considered an "older man's gun" and younger generations gravitate to more modern "polymer" models. I don't disagree with you concerning the 1911 specifically, although I think reliability issues play a part in that also. Many people, both young and old, have suggested I get a 1911 but I'm probably not willing to spend enough to get a guaranteed reliable model, like the gun in your video. I do have a Sig P938, which is, more or less, a mini-1911.
But what I'm curious about is if your statement can be interpreted more generally, and, if so, why that is? You seem to imply by your mention of "polymer" when describing "new school" handguns that non-polymer models fall into the "older man's gun" category of perception. I don't know if this is true, but as an "older man" (well, I'm 50) who only became seriously interested in guns about five years ago, here are some items I considered when selecting handguns, of which I have about 12.
1. Not every gun is a carry gun. Most handgun and accessory reviews on your channel are filtered through the lens of how well it fits in a carry scenario. This isn't a criticism, it's one of the reasons I like your channel. Your EDC content is great. But of my 12 handguns, only about four of them are in my carry rotation. I agree polymer guns have some advantages as carry guns, primarily weight. The four guns I carry regularly are a M&P 2.0 Compact and Sig P229 (winter), a Kahr PM9 and Sig P239 (summer). So two striker-fired and two hammer fired. I clearly don't object to striker-fired/polymer guns for carry purposes (I'm on a waiting list for the P365), though I still prefer the hammer fired. Why? The only reason specifically carry related is that I feel safer carrying a DA/SA handgun. The heavier first trigger pull, usually around 8-9 lbs, is safer than the 5-6 lbs of most striker fired guns. I also tend to shoot hammer fired guns better.
2. As for other uses of handguns, like nightstand guns, bug out bag guns, range guns, etc., where the size and weight are not a primary issue, I just personally prefer hammer fired, all metal guns. Less recoil, lighter trigger in SA, and generally more accurate in my hands. The argument about having to train for two different trigger weights is valid, I guess, but it's not like you're constantly switching between DA and SA, you just have to master that first DA pull and then you have a nice light trigger with a really short reset. I'm not that great of a shooter anyway and the light trigger and low recoil only helps, in my case.
I liked your comments about buying $400 polymer guns and spending money to "trick them out". My only argument against most polymer guns is that after buying them I always feel like I need to immediately replace the trigger and usually the sights because I'm used to better triggers and sights. I generally resist this urge and train with the stock trigger.
This isn't meant to be a referendum on the value of striker vs hammer fired handguns, I think they are both good options. My current ratio is about 7 hammer/5 striker fired. But based on your comments in the video, I'm curious if you and your viewers feel this generational bias applies to hammer fired guns in general or primarily just 1911 style handguns. Because I don't see that much difference between your average 1911, reliability issues aside, and a Sig P220, for example. I have a P220 Legion in .45acp that I like quite a bit. It's obviously not a carry gun. I never thought of it as an "older man's gun" except for possibly the caliber. I'd stipulate that .45acp may be an "older man's caliber" but the gun itself, not so much.
So thanks for the video, though I found it interesting for reasons other than the gun itself.
Always love your reviews!
buy it bro.
That gun is sexy
If Vulcans carried a 1911, Warf would kill his mate for it!
Almost anyone who works and wants one, can get one. First, you can buy a used one and save $500-1000 or more. Second, even if you don’t buy a used one, cut the entertainment budget by 50%. Cut up the credit cards and stay out of debt. Stop eating out at lunch; put the money physically into a box. You will be ordering the gun inside a year.
And the price just went up (all Nighthawks) by $400.00 in Dec '21
Every time I watch one of your videos I want to buy a new gun... Not good.
Noticed you were using a IWB holster. Could you tell me which one it was that fits this gun?
Thanks in advance.
Does that mean your making LLOD holsters for 1911's , howcanout my 3.8" barrelled nighthawk carry plus?
Where do you get those multicam hats?
Giant gun without the STOPPIN POWAH of the 45?
Does it come in 10MM?
“Or a *barf* Salient” hahahaha
Always liked 1911s but never got into them because I’m left handed...
Darnell Cox take a look at Cabot 1911s they are very nice and have a high price tag but they make a1911 just for left handed ppl
I would go with the Wilson Combat edc x (I think that's what its called. The double stack jammy) especially in 9mm. But its a tough choice.
Who stippled that G17 at 21:25? Looks like maybe LWS? Thanks!
Glad to a Christian on youtube
Just when I thought STIs were looking pricey.
The Chris Reeve Sebenza 21 of gun
How much??? I'm saving up for a first time carrion pistol
Someday...
Plans to review agency's 509?
Can you switch the mag realease for lefty’s? Th in king about getting one.
Will this be worth more in 20 years?
What do you think about those STI 2011s?
What is the height of the fiber optic front sight?
I like the cut of your jib sir.
lol ive never clicked out of a video so fast after googling the price of this damn thing.
CZ P 10 review..........
Pricy, but quality-wise, craftsmanship-wise, performance-wise, aesthetics-wise. . . .Nighthawk guns are like entering Nirvana. For me, a hard choice between the Agent 2 and Shadow Hawk Government.
I use the Shadowhawk as one of my duty guns you cant go wrong with anything Nighthawk.
What state is this? It’s beautiful.
Are you shooting in a range or just outdoors?
You made a holster for it!!! :D
Why aren't you comparing to HK? Haven't ever seen that kind of slop in HK pistols.
Hayman burn area in Colorado. ...
Anyone have any idea which finish is used for this? Cerakote, Duracote, and color?
Agency slide.. shiiiiit 87% of the cost is right there
That’s a sweet gun
🎼"Get down on it"🎶
that thing is amazing!
I want that 1911
Slide failed to lock back or some other type of malfunction at 0:33?
I ride the slide lock like 25% of the time on like all my guns. :(
This gun is only 5K not 100K like some super car. IMO way easier to afford.
All that money and i don’t even get an up to date recoil set up......
bro really said that his polymer gun mods equate to that night hawk. what a narcissist
Drooooooool
Is the slide and frame steel? Thanks!!!
yes its an all steel gun
