Thanks for the video Scott. The Stabiliser Filter does not need to be "ON" to use Stabiliser. It's pretty confusing but the Filter being "ON" on any setting of 1 or greater just means that the machine will also reduce the volume of any target that triggers the Stabiliser circuit. Therefore the Stabiliser on it's own will degrade the signal on suspected iron falsing, having the Stabiliser Filter on just means that it will not only degrade the signal but reduce the volume as well. They work independently however the Filter can't reduce the volume of anything without the Stabiliser being on. Cheers, Mark 🤠
Thanks Mark I appreciate that. I ran a test tonight and found that running the stabilizer at 1 actually amplified my 10.5 inch dime and I was able to hear it very clearly vs with it being off I could hear it but it was very faint. Once I raised it to 2 the volume came back down. Any thoughts?
@@MentalMetal Very interesting and bizzare too. Let me see if I can duplicate that and wrap my head around it, I'll check back, just confirming Stabiliser Filter was off the whole time?
no I believe I had it on. I don't know why (if it does amplify the target) you wouldn't run it at 1 all the time. I had another guy confirm the same results.
It’s incredible how that machine picks out Coins in a pile of iron ! I e been finding silver coins that my other machines can’t get past the iron . But the manticore with separate iron from good targets. All my silver I dug the other day was with rusty nails and bolts .
After the update a buddy went back to hammered trashy green with the stabiliser set at one. In a bed of nails he got one consistent chirp. Ended up being a major spill once the digging started. He ended up with 17 silver coins in a 5x5 space. Most about 5 to 6 inches down. We never got it with our Noxs or before the update.
Thanks for all the video's on the Manticore and the update. I really like my manticore and i appreciate how well you explain the detector and its operation. I do think there is any perfect detectors right out of the box it seems like they all have good and bad qualities. I appreciate the new update from minelab and im looking forward to more of your video's.
Thanks Scott for another great video😄. When you get a chance can you run the Manticore through your test garden with different levels of stabiliser to see if you lose depth. Thanks again and happy hunting 😄
After watching the vid, I would still stick with my XPD2. Not convinced with Minelab, just yet. Some of the vid reminded me of my Equi 800 and 600. In the dirt I quietly called them my iron magnets. Would get very frusterated with them. Good finds. Nice vid Scott.
I just got the update downloaded finally . Been doing great before the update but can’t wait to get out there and see if I can pull more of these silver coins out ?!? Fingers crossed
Good job in challenging conditions! I think once you familiarize yourself with the update and add in the new small coil, its game on man. You would do well up here Bud, no doubt!!! Same type of hunting, just finds about 250 years older 😁
I thought I addressed that twice in the video... I usually do, this was not recorded this way on purpose believe me. I just had the angle wrong and never thought to check it.
@@MentalMetalyou did address it twice, and even though the angle was slightly off you still (not knowingly) explained the screen in detail on every hole. It was a great video
Really depends on what you want out of the machine. I personally would pick up the Manticore over the 900 at this point. But I also can't use my favorite 10x5 Coiltek coil for coin shooting on the Manticore but I can with the 900 and 800. So it really depends on you.
I usually have no issues pinpointing.to be honest and I haven't heard anyone else complaining. I failed to actually pinpoint the target correctly so thats on me, not the machine.
Update seems to have helped some, but I'm not regretting selling my Manticore & buying a Nox 900. I haven't seen the Manticore do anything that the 900 can't do. I will say the Manticore was better with EMI.

Thanks ! I have used the update and I think it’s Improved the experience.
Great to hear!

My pleasure! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing brother . I just updated my machine finally . Can’t wait to get out there and see what I silver missed. Thanks again
Nice Saturday treat regardless the equipment you bring out.
Thank you!

Fair enough! Thanks!
Go see my last videos ! I’m plucking out what everyone else can’t ! The manticore is second to none my friend
Lol ! You won’t be convinced until it’s in your hand ! Second to none !

I totally agree, can't wait for the other coils and thank you btw.
Hi! I just received my manticore.
What is the new update, and how do I know if I have it.
Thanks for your experience and sharing it:)😊
You probably don't have it, just go out to minelab's site and you will see how to get update and just follow the instructions. Piece of cake.
What is that little shovel you're using. It's awesome! Better than the knives most of the time it seems
Brian from my Patreon group had it made. They are custom made from a guy up MA (I think). I think you can get them through Backwoods Detectors.
Thank you for this video! Is it possible to show the screen more in your videos so we can follow along more easily?
I thought I addressed that twice in the video... I usually do, this was not recorded this way on purpose believe me. I just had the angle wrong and never thought to check it.

Thanks I corrected myself on the last Manticore video.
Heard if you go up to ten on stabilizer it completely gets rid of iron.
I was hoping I could see the 2D read out.
All terrain general is the best setting imo. Way deeper and more stable
Thanks for your thoughts you might be right.
Thanks for vid and information.
You bet
Do you think the manticore is worth the extra money over a nox 900?

Not convinced yet. I love my CTX3030
Nothing wrong with the 3030. Its a great machine and still holds its own.
I see I am not the only one having problems with the pin point on the Manticore.
Look forward to the 2nd generation of this machine w/ bugs worked out. Until then- it's Nox 800.
I usually have no issues pinpointing.to be honest and I haven't heard anyone else complaining. I failed to actually pinpoint the target correctly so thats on me, not the machine.
@@guitawrizt I did have better luck with the Nox 800 myself
Still finding some keepers....good work...10 more nails and you could have built a shed.....
True that!
Nox 900 would do all what you need in metal detecting, why spend more money.
Ran detector over a nail on beach after update, I dont see red number
Maybe it wasn't iron, they make nails out of a lot of material not just iron.

Nothing wrong with the 900. Use what you like. The Manticore isn't for everyone.
The manticore identifies as a hammer
I like that.
😂
