I bought some mesh fabric and wasn't sure how to sew it in a bag or pouch and now I can't wait to make it, I love all your colours you chose, for zippers and material, so pretty. Thanks again Venessa for a great project! I like watching your WIP Wednesday's I learn so much from you! Joan
I just finished my second bag today. Thank you for the easy instructions. I love this bag. My daughter will be using one of them to put her bowling supplies in. You make sewing fun!
Well your instructions were perfect and I followed them properly but I didn’t notice a mistake I made until the end. I’ve binned it but I’ve learned a lot and will try again. Thanks Vanessa
I loved this tutorial and I just finished making one. Made a couple of mistakes but managed to rescue them. I'm making another now! I can't resist small zippered pouches, more tutorials please! Would order from your shop but I'm in Ireland.
I have made a few so far, and I currently using mine as a make-up bag. I plan to make several more to fill with essentials, hand sanitizers, Kleenex tissue, hand lotion, etc. for co-workers. They can al so be used as travel treat bags, pencil and pen pouch, phone chargers and cord pouch. They can be personalized quickly by choosing fabric specific to the individual style or favorite color. I enjoy making these pouches because they are a quick make , require minimal fabric, and can be used to hold any of your small items. Happy sewing!!
ahaha... sounds like a lil chef john food network jingle... lol makin a leather and canvas drawstring bag and wanted to attach a lil mesh interior pocket to the lining... gonna be good tyfs :)
Good video. I purchased some mesh pouches with zipper. I cut the mesh/zipper portion about 3 inches from top and added fabric and lining to the bottom. Wondering if you could make a video using purchased mesh bags.
Vanessa is it possible to make a project bag with vinyl and add a snap closure instead of a zipper, I want to do one with the netting also. but with snap closures. Zippers and Yarn and Debi is not a safe Combo LOL
how light is the Bosal Light Fusable Batting I am trying to find some in Canada? Thanks Vanessa. I am going to make 6 of these pencil cases for my Grandchildren for Christmas!
I bought a Brother machine to start off. I can't seem to find out what I am doing wrong. My seams on the bottom of my stitch seems to group up and bunch up. Doen not hold either. Can you help me out?
Love this project. Just curious as to why you leave the opening (for turning) at the top and not along the bottom. It's harder to get the folded edges even and would be less obvious at the bottom.
Personal preference. I find it easier 1) to finish at the top because the mesh isn’t there and 2) because I like to top stitch along the top edge. I don’t like the puffy seam look on top. It’s up to you! 👍🏽
Judy made one of these for my granddaughter for college! Love it! TY
Love this, had some leftover mesh to use. You voice has such clarity.
Awesome tutorial! I just made well over 15 with my scrap fabric to give away at school and my book club.. so easy and quick, useful gifts! Thank you!

Yay! Thanks for your support. Happy sewing!
Thank you. Made two of these. On the second one I over stitched the zipper on both sides of the teeth. I love them!
Well your instructions were perfect and I followed them properly but I didn’t notice a mistake I made until the end. I’ve binned it but I’ve learned a lot and will try again. Thanks Vanessa

Hi from South Australia
Great tutorial! I am glad you are using your new machine ;)
Another bag I would like to make.
This is a great idea! Can you make another video showing the bag made with vinyl instead of mesh?
Me encanto!!! No pude resistirme e hice el,primero para los píe de mi máquina de coser!!! Gracias por compartir . Me subscribí inmediatamente!!
Thank you so much for your delightful tutorials! My sewing machine is in-shop for repair and will not be available for up to 2 months. I miss sewing!

NOBODY teaches like you!
Thanks so much, Joy! I really appreciate that. 🥰❤️🙏🏽
Love it, I think I could actually do this! 💜

Nice❤
What setting on the Iron and thank you so much for this video
Thanks a lot! 🌸🌸
Good video. I purchased some mesh pouches with zipper. I cut the mesh/zipper portion about 3 inches from top and added fabric and lining to the bottom. Wondering if you could make a video using purchased mesh bags.
Muy practico, gracias por el tutorial, saludos.
I would love to see you do a makeup bag with a mesh pocket inside attached to the inner lining. I have not found one yet☹️.
it is good
I love your patterns and videos. The only thing that could make them better is if the fabric pieces and sizes were listed under the video.
Can I use flannel for these zipper bags?
Vanessa is it possible to make a project bag with vinyl and add a snap closure instead of a zipper, I want to do one with the netting also. but with snap closures. Zippers and Yarn and Debi is not a safe Combo LOL
There is a stretchy side and a stretchier side to the mesh. Does it matter which way the stretchier is supposed to go; along the 6.5" or 10" ?
how light is the Bosal Light Fusable Batting I am trying to find some in Canada? Thanks Vanessa. I am going to make 6 of these pencil cases for my Grandchildren for Christmas!
Very cute, love it, what model Juki are you sewing with.
My JUKI NX-7.
Best thing for making crisp seam allowances. Love mine!💕✂️
hi, love these pouches, how hard would it be to box the corners or would it look strange. Thank you, always love your tutorials
I haven’t tried that on this pouch yet so you’d have to try it out and see.
@@TheCraftyGemini okay, thank you
Hi from Arabian gulf
What is the seam allowance for the strips?
I came to the comments with the same question!
Love these : ) How hot is the iron, will the mesh melt?
I have it set to the hottest cotton setting.
I bought a Brother machine to start off. I can't seem to find out what I am doing wrong. My seams on the bottom of my stitch seems to group up and bunch up. Doen not hold either. Can you help me out?
Sounds like your tension is messed up. Too tight maybe. Hope you got it sorted or by now. 🌷
👍

How would you change it to use one of those fancy zippers that have the neat zipper tape?
I haven’t made it like that so I can’t say. You’d have to play around with that to find what would work.
How sturdy is the mesh??
It’s great! I’ve made entire beach bags with it to hold stuff in.
I’m confused. If all the pieces are cut to 10”wide why would the mesh be wider than the strips?
Because it’s open fabric and easily moves. If you cut it bigger you can clean up and trim up the sides once it’s sewn to make sure it’s all attached.
It would be helpful, visually, to use a fabric that has a clear right and wrong side for the zipper trim.
Hi, from New Zealand, thank you for this tutorial, may I please ask what is this wooden tool you use after each time you ironed the mesh please ?
It is a tailor’s clapper.
early
too fast...
I slowed down the speed to catch the parts I missed when she went too fast. It really helped!
