The reasons you mentioned make a lot of sense! I have been on the S10+ for a couple of years and I've had enough of using a phone I can't type on with one hand. The extra screen size is great for watching videos but regularly day to day use it's too big so I'm picking up my 15 Pro next week 😃What colour did you order?

Maybe iPhone 16 or 17 cuz there's really not enough of a change if you don't wait 3 or 4 years to feel like you have a new phone it just feels like your old phone but a little better anyway that's my thinking
I agreed. I also went from the Pro Max to the regular Pro size. The 5x zoom is irrelevant and it's not an optical zoom.

A lot of the points you made here are the exact reasons I still primarily use my iPhone 12 Mini on iOS 14. Wish Apple made a 15 Mini this year. Or even better yet a 15 Mini Pro
I did the EXACT same thing as you! For the EXACT same reason! I have always had the Pro Max versions and have a 14 pro max and I feel like it is too big and bulky and bothers me when it is in my Pockets! At the gym I end up just leaving my phone on the ground because it’s too big in my pockets and at work I dress business and looks huge in my suit pant pockets. I even see the 15 Pro is actually smaller than the 14 pro so I’m looking forward to the change!
I got the 15 Pro due to size, but the most amazing thing, in UK iPhone 14 Pro is still on sale at high street stores or on amazon UK.
The 15 Pro is actually £100 less, so I upgraded to 500GB for same price as my 256GB. Costing me nothing to upgrade, 👍

I was leaning to the iPhone 15 Pro but coming from an 11 Pro Max, the size feels off for my hands. On the android side, the Pixel 7 Pro, Galaxy S23 Ultra feels more comfortable in hand. All about preference I suppose.
Any idea if apple eol's iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 at the same time? Honestly doesn't make sense to use old processor and sell it as new instead of using 3nm with a16 so that people aren't getting yesteryear SoC.
I did the 14 Pro last year. I agree about the size and the weight of 14 Pro Max was too much. However, I miss the larger screen and better battery life - hopefully Titanium makes a difference - time will tell

I have an iPhone 11 Pro (64GB) which I purchased back in late 2019 so not decided whether to upgrade to 15 Pro / Pro Max (256GB) this year.
My current phone is in immaculate condition. If I decide to buy 15 Pro / Pro Max, may sell it to try and get as much money as I can for it.
The 11 Pro was a 5.8 inch screen. That is a tiny phone now. Almost as small as the Mini in comparison . I liked the 11 Pro feel, but went with the 11 Pro Max that year due to the bigger battery. 11 Pro series was one of the best. Good weight, strong screens and glass, good colors, just good all around. It has held up very well. No issues. Battery life is now at 80% after 4 years. So, it seems the 11 Pro battery is better than the iPhone 14 Pro battery. I may be upgrading this year. I was almost tempted to upgrade last year, but hated the colors. Purple sucked. I will definitely miss my 11 Pro Max if I do.
I thought about the 15 pro vs the pro max, I’ve had pro max’s for a while, right now with the 13 pro max. It is uncomfortable sometimes with one-handed operation I have larger hands though. What makes it more difficult for me is the 15 pro shows a 23 hour video playback battery life while i have 28 hours right now on the 13 pro max, although I don’t see any 28 hours, I think that’s a huge joke.

I have a 14plus 128GB , I can care less about the dancing island or the 48mp camera, I don't need 120hz to watch a video, usbc is not a compelling reason to upgrade and I won't upgrade . Dear, what about the storage, could u give me/us some suggestions regarding the storage? I don't think 256g is enough cause my andoird phone currently using takes up 300 g... but Apple's 512g is way hgiher cost than the 256g. The reason why I hesitate is I see the iphone15pro's type c can guarantee you to record videos directly via external ssd. Is that suitable or justify to go for a 256g iphone15pro? Thank you!
Get the 256, Apple is way more efficient with using its storage. The photos and videos are stored in a special file format that's compressed

It’s hard to step backwards from the pro max for me . I have large hands so these phones aren’t small in my hands as the lesser sized iPhones are . The first iPhone looks funny in my hands . Had the iPhone 4 and that was comical also . I’ll continue to use the s23 ultra along side the 15pm as I like iPhone cameras better .
I think the shortage on hte pro max is due in part to TSMC still having low yields in hte low 55% range. Also, the battery health issue has not been resolved and I suspect that it has propagated into hte 15 as well. No periscope lens and only 5x instead of the expected 6X zoom. I am waiting for the 16 since my carrier will deprecate my 13 pro at that point and I would lose my trade in if I didn't upgrade. In Canada they have added a couple of hundred to the price making it $CDN1799 for hte pro Max

How materially different in a meaningful way are these phones than the three phones before them?
i got the 13 mini. i want to get another mini but thatll never happen now. Also, I want one that has the sim trey but only non-US models have them. I could order one from, say, the UK store, but it doesnt give any carrier/unlock options so idk if they are unlocked by default or not. Also, considering the base model 15 only has usb 2, i would imagine a theoretical 15 mini would only have 2, and I would want USB 3 of course. why cant an iPhone 15 mini unlocked with a sim trey from the US apple store exist?
I thought of the pro but chose the pro max. 2 reasons why; the new one being lighter and of course the better battery life. I’ve have both pro’s in the past and always seem to go back to the pro max. To keep them as small as possible I only use Pitaka type cases. If you’ve never tried a carbon fibre (aramid) case , you really should. Unless you’re the type to bump and drop your phone often.
Aramid cases are super good. Mine lasted 2 years with my 13 pro max and protected my phone at the same time It didn’t make look bigger and uglier like most cases do.

I like your perspective about your option to choose iphone 15 pro standard size about the weight experience from iphone 14 pro max but if the standard can last all day long of multimedia I also definitely choose the standard also even if is smaller batter but bcos of size display it maybe less consume a battery maybe can match tha pro max battery.
I have a 13 mini and love the size. I would like to upgrade, but I think the 15 pro max is too big and heavy. The size and weight of the normal 15pro is just about acceptable thanks to the use of titanium. I ask whether the better 5x zoom justifies the more uncomfortable handling. whether you really use the 5x magnification that often. For portraits, 3 times is perfect.
FWIW I have 13 mini and love it except the battery and zoom. Trading in for the 15 Pro. RIP mini 😢
I’m more interested in 25X digital zoom on the pro max. Has quality improved up to 15X enough to justify the xtra bump? This could be a sleeper feature or an epic dud
Because of the weight difference, I'm curious to see how much lighter it is. I held the 14 Pro Max a few months back and holy moly it was so heavy 😂 Wondering how the weight difference will be with titanium. The S23 Ultra is pretty tolerable in terms of weight, so I'm hoping ball park it's about the same. Also seems like it's a little smaller than the S23 Ultra so maybe it'll be easier to handle.
Looking forward to it coming in and see the hype about the Pro Max's. Will miss my 13 Pro Sierra blue, but that new titanium blue is pretty great looking too.

Thats the thing about iphone pros. They are heavy. Last pro i had was the 11 pro, returned that turd of a phone. It cramped my hands so bad. Thinking finally with titanium maybe the iphone pro will be tolerable. Just need to get in the store and feel one in hand.

the 15 pro max is a 19g drop from 240g with the 14 pro max, so it may actually be serviceable.

Tech Odyssey, the beeper app works exactly like imessage for android and you can even get the blue bubbles like imessage. I mentioned the beeper app in case someone might ask if you can use imessage for android. Everyone I know that uses an iPhone already uses facebook messenger since they told me the only thing that matters is if they got any of the messages since they told me that's the only thing they care about. Every time I hear someone complaining about green bubbles vs blue bubbles. I 😂 everytime, I feel like asking, are you a child does the color of the bubbles really matter to you. When it comes to smartphone photography, no one ever mentions no matter how good the camera is, the social media apps already compress the quality of the video and pictures. The main issues are the social media compression thats no one ever talks about. I mentioned about social media apps since that's what the majority of users use there smartphone for. I always wondered why does not anyone address the compression that is already happening when uploading there photos and videos to social media apps. I also wondered, what's the point of having a really good camera when certain apps reduce the quality and the quality is already compromised. It's not like smartphone cameras record uncompressed raw 4k videos and raw uncompressed photos out of the box. They take up alot of space and not everyone has unlimited data but there is wifi as an option to upload the high quality video and photos so it won't use up your mobile data when someone is on a limited data plan. I have the motion cam pro app and I record in 4k raw uncompressed video. When I recorded a 10 second raw 4k uncompressed video it already used 2gb of data for only recording a 10 second clip.

I just ordered the 15 PRO as well in neutral titanium 1TB. I wanted a slightly smaller phone. Hopefully I'll like it since im trading in my Note 20 Ultra for it.
Big downgrade
I went to the 15 Pro from a regular IPhone 11. The Pro Max is just TOO large. I traded in battery life for a smaller size and plus my previous phone, the 11 was also the same size at 6.1 as the Pro so it made sense. I can always carry a battery bank or battery case if I need battery charge for a smaller form factor and gone from a charger for hours or near my car to charge it while on Apple CarPlay. I still have AirPods Gen 2 that still use Lightning. Its the only thing I have that uses Lightning after trading in my 11. I have 2 powerbanks that still use MicroUSB. They still work and still use them to extend the battery on my phone when going out for hours like to an amusement park.
I did the same and ordered a 15 pro as I found the 14 Pro Max to bulky.
I do think Apple should of put the same camera in both pro phones though.
I don’t believe A17 will make a substantial difference in terms of battery life to offset 2000 nits brightness. If you keep using phone all the time, 6.1 size battery can’t keep up with power consumption. One other thing is I find myself mostly using two hands typing and pro keyboard on 6.1 screen is so cramped. If you need to use one one you can make the keyboard smaller occasionally although not being easy to type but saves the day.
Hopefully Titanium will make it nice it’s lighter than Samsung Ultra series now.
Correct about not rewarding Apple for not having 5x zoom in the Pro. Plus, if they went with light refraction for telezoom to fit in smaller space in the Max then they could have put it in Pro too. Simple logic.
In Belgium you can easily get the iPhone 15 pro max. It is also expensive here, almost 1500€ for the cheapest iPhone pro max. I ordered the max: why? I want the best: best camera or zoom or both, bigger screen, better battery life when I'm filming at Tomorrowland or a performance. Those are 3 things that are not unimportant to me.

@@TechOdyssey Many people buy it with a subscription. The 1st week €549 for the pro max 15 256GB, from a provider. The others don't have a good deal like this. The subscription costs €56 per month, which is affordable.
I preordered the pro and cancelled it when I learned real world battery is much worse than the non pro. It’s also heavier, fatter, less durable in drop tests and the 3x camera is trash. There are advantages but they don’t seem useful to me for my usage.
I’ve saved a bunch of cash by picking up the *512 GB* #iPhone14Pro instead of the Max model on the 14 Pro Series.
I am going for the Pro (6.1-inch) again on the 15 Series.
As much as I like the *battery life* of the previous #iPhone13Max the bigger and heavier devices of the iPhones since using the 6, 7, 8 Plus, then the XS Max and Pro Max Series *developed arthritis in my hands* and *fingers* according to my hand doctor and therapist. And it’s not a very good thing at my age.
The 13ProMax was my last large device.
The pro max does have a better battery but I think the pro is better for most average users because of the size.
I am upgrading from the 11 Pro to the 15 Pro. The 11 Pros 5,8" screen size was perfect for me so I went again with the smaller size. The 120mm camera on the Pro max is useless if You are a photographer and shoot wild life it is way too short, but for portraits, it is way too long. With the Pro max up until 119mm You will just digitally crop into the 48mp main camera with a huge quality loss.

Same here. I used to have a 13 pro max that I sold for a good price before iPhone 15 got announced. Now I am using an iPhone X as a placeholder and it is much more confortable than my 13 pro Max and I have large hands too, so 15 pro will be my next phone.
And for the 5x times lens, I think you’re right about being too short for wild life pictures and too large for portrait.
I will get the 128gb model and If I ever need more storage, I can simply connect an external usb c drive and I’ll be fine.

Best fabric cases were Google made. I wish Google would bring them back as an option to the silicone ones. I used to love my blue one on the Pixel 4 XL 👌🏼
I'm think of updating to the 14 pro max or 14 pro for the deals. I can't decide on size, I was thinking larger to see better my eyes aren't what they use to be. I'm think the 14 pro max may be too heavy but I don't want to pay so much for a 15 pro max when I don't need all the features. I don't game or do a lot of tech. stuff with it.

Agree on the form factor. Coming from a 13 Pro - which I would keep but I promised it to my daughter who has an XR on its last leg. I’m looking forward to the lighter phone, and slightly smaller. The 13 Pro is a brick. I went for the 256 which I debated, but I’m at 120 GB, so i tonight I might need it eventually. Keeping this one for at least 3 years. Probably longer.

I recently bought 3 weeks ago and iPhone 14 Pro Max in Gold 256GB because before that I had the iPhone SE 2 2020 edition I bought last year prepaid and for Mother's Day I upgraded on prepaid to an iPhone 11 but they we're bought from the big box store and I like them but I wanted something newer since I couldn't upgrade my Android devices on my primary phone account with T-Mobile. So it was easier to upgrade my phone on my secondary account which is Verizon Wireless and I bought the iPhone 14 Pro Max and since it's my secondary device I use it but not often so it will last me for a while and I only had the iPhone 14 Pro Max for 3 weeks and I'm in love with it. I think it's a cool phone!!! 😁📱❤️

I think it's pathetic that people are bullying others because of the phone they use. And the problem now is the "status" symbol. As I said before -- not everybody needs iOS. Not everyone needs Android. They have the device that suits their needs. Shopping for a phone now is like shopping for a car -- not everyone needs a pick up truck vs. a sedan.
Hell, I know people that still use a burner phone as their main driver and they are perfectly fine with it -- just simple calls and texts. They don't have to worry about social media. They prefer to either bank online at home or go to a physical bank. Their battery lasts longer. And they are more exposed to the outside world instead of being glued to a smart phone screen.
Pro is the way to go. Gotta take advantage of the only normal sized flagship while it's still a thing. Because every other flagship is near 7 inches.
I brought the 15 Pro Max for my mum for her upcoming Birthday, her old iPhone has a cracked screen but I am really worrying if this phone will be too big for her I just didn't want spend this much money & not get the best lol.

I still went with the 15 Pro Max in the new titanium color. I’m still concerned about the battery life on the Pro. And, as you get older the larger screen is nice. I ordered mine at the 5:00 AM launch yesterday morning and get to pick it up next Friday 9/22 at the Apple store.
I'm concerned too. If it sucks then I may have to change again if it's even possible, but I prefer the Pro size.

@@TechOdyssey The battery of the 15 pro may be good for a while, but the battery will eventually degrade. Pro Max is way better in terms of battery life for long-term use. My 13 Pro Max is almost 2 years old and the battery health is still at 90%.

I still have my iPhone 8 as a backup phone. It still great but has very short battery life. (I get about 8 hours to 10 hours as an average figure)

I cancelled my 15PM order this morning. I'll stick with my 13PM. And continue daily driving my S23 Ultra until we get an all screen iPhone.
I think that 15 pro can disappoint you. The battery is 60mah bigger so it has almost zero effect on battery life. This new chip a17 pro is also stronger but with great power comes bigger battery consumption.
First year I actually ordered a 15 pro this year instead of a pro max like I usually do so hopefully this should be good for me this year.

You and many others have to put it mildy been extremely dissapointed in the 14 pro yet you cannot wait to order the new expensive 15 model. Even though the batteries have not as was leaked gotten bigger. If you are let down by a brand normally you go for something else not sit in front of the computer to get another expensive version as soon as possible.
I'm not sure if you've noticed, but the iPro Max 5G seems to be superior for a reason that I'm uncertain about. However, you can test it yourself and verify it.
I also prefer the size in regular pro model. Only thing why I ordered pro max is that 5x zoom and also price difference between pro and pro max is not very much (at least here in Europe 256gb pro and pro max models are 1379€ vs 1499€).. so pro max have better value (only 120€ difference in price). 5x zoom also have IS which is amazing. I use quite a lot cameras so better battery life and 256gb storage space is always welcome too.. 128gb nowadays is not enough.
what ? 3x zoom is definitely better because it s the standard for portrait photography, why would you ever need a 5x ?
@@mehdiyk8854 there are no "portrait" standard in this field.. I have Canon R5 with several lenses and they all have their unique style.. Even with Canon I like to use quite a lot Sigma 105mm 1.4 ART and 135mm etc. with people while shooting portraits. I prefer to have small backup (Iphone 15 pro max) in my pocket along side with my Canon. I know the quality is not comparable with the Canon, but any picture is better than no picture at all. Good to have all options.

Apple did me dirty! I have the SE3 and I was hoping to get the 13 mini for £599 when the 15 came out. I have a SE and felt it was time to upgrade. It is about £599 on Amazon and John Lewis. What Apple do? Drop the 13 mini and decide to sell the full size from £599! What's worse, if I buy it, it will be one day before the other sites drop the price of the mini to £499. I am torn...

I got pretty strong hands as a piano player and from bodybuilding, but even I got annoyed by my S22 ultra pretty fast. 2 years in and I've just about had enough, might go for the 15 pro (tired of Android too)

I like the idea behind the SE. A simple device that does what you need it to do , a powerful engine under the bonnet. I have an old iPhone 7 and enjoy using it . I have an android and iPhone 13 and in some ways prefer the iPhone 7 - a simple phone with no distractions ☺️
I went with 15 Pro for same reasons u mentioned, the 14 pro Max is heavy AF. Also, battery on my iPhones have been good so not sure why people complain of battery drain. My phone can last me like 1.5 days without using low battery mode.
I ordered a 15 Pro Max but I do understand the annoyance with how heavy phones are getting. I've used both the S23 Ultra and 14 Pro Max and feel manufacturers are really crossing the line w/ weight. Hoping 220g w/ the 15PM is the sweet spot.
1.5 days 😅 I had the 14 pro, even brand new wouldn’t last from 6am to 10pm, only way it’s lasting you 1.5 days is by barley using it

I was never an iPhone fan until the 13 pro came out and I got it. I had a 7 plus when they were new and went to android. And now I’ll never use any other phone other than iphone
Seeing lots of reviews of how crappy the new woven fabric cases are. Seems to me that avoiding apple OEM cases is a good strategy.
I was like "nope" what I saw how easily it scratches on some vids. Not sure why they didn't just do synthetic leather or whatever that stuff is they put in EVs.
They are garbage. Scratched from just my finger nail that barely touched it. And little lint and stuff just clings to it.

I agree with you Adam!! I also refuse to award Apple for the regular 15. I pre-ordered the 15 pro max in the natural titanium and my estimated delivery is between November 6-13. I doubt but hopefully it comes sooner.

I canceled my pre order. I found a guy on ebay that was selling the 15 pro max 1tb for less then the 512gb version. He has a distributor that will send it to him and he will get it between Sept 30th-Oct 4th. Once he gets it he will ship it to me with FedEx priority overnight. At the end with the faster shipping, the price ended up ebing the same as the 512gb version. I am so excited. 😆😆😆😆

Good personal review however when I hear reviewers complain about heavy phones and ouchy sharp edges it makes me wonder what other first world problems they have to endure day to day.
I was thinking about Pro over PMAX, then saw it was only a $100 difference if I wanted to upgrade the the same 256gb capacity. I took the PMAX. Coming from S23 Ultra. Jumping from Android to try Apple because the USB-C addition
So you had type c with 45watt fast charging on your 23 ultra, and downgraded to 30watt usb c fast charging on iPhone 😅 and went from a 10x optical zoom to 5x optical zoom? Sounds smart haha
I can understand from his point of view but in my personal opinion, I think performance over both of that. 10x optical zoom are not that necessary for my daily life usage plus the fast charging is over the standard speed for me and I heard it could drains the battery health faster. As an average user, I don’t see both of them are as important as performance, maybe that was the reasons he decided to change to iPhone this year.
By the way, I’m upgrading from 7 plus (although I also use Androids) to iPhone 15 Pro Max this year, very excited to see the big differences.
@@leeelchapochapman4887 don't care about charging speed or camera options. I want to try IOS and not having to use a new cable to charge helps with that transition.
