    Thank you for your honesty and transparency fellow warrior. I'm a retired (27 yrs) Army Chaplain. Just now found my way to a quartet. I never believed I was good enough for anything. But God is still growing me. Thanks

    After watching this and speaking to a professional bass singer recently, I feel like I can move from Bass 1 to Bass 2. In the process of proper breathing techniques at the moment.

    Thank you so much for posting these videos. They are really helping me. You can consider me a bass-baritone singer, but I truly feel like I can sing lower than a C2, and I'm 21 years old. I may have an opportunity coming up where I will be singing bass for a southern gospel group that travels mostly around Kentucky, but I'm a little apprehensive about it, because I've never sung in one before, and I'm not the greatest, let alone lowest, bass singer, but these videos are helping a great deal. God bless you greatly!

    just listening to your talking voice, i can already tell that you are a true bass, and not just a baritone, like most of the 'so called' youtube bassos.

    In my opinion, He's by far given the best tutorial yet--Awesome balance; Great personal illustrations and heart! I studied voice in high school and college! And I sang in honors chorus in high school as a pure baritone-- but He just gave some good tips that the average "Joe bass" out there can understand! In my opinion, southern gospel bass singers need to be exposed to many genres of music. Great post! Bjb

    How can I sing higher notes in my range without straining?
    I can usually sing well until I reach Ab3. Any notes above that until my top, D4, become more and more strained and they end up sounding flatter the higher up I go. I've tried several different techniques; none of which seem to have worked...

      GeeForceVlogs I’m 15 and I’m blessed to have a 2 octave chest voice range B1-D4, my one idea is place your voice low and open your throat, also daily practice helps, for me I never did actual warm ups I just sang up high for fun and fooling around now D4 can come outs basicly clean

    I'm really proud that God gave me this kind of talent/voice but i have a problem, cause every time i shout,i lost my bass voice but it's still low the prob. is i don't feel the vibration.
    thanks for sharing this video God bless😄

      that's because yout vocal chords get tense and ya dont feel the vibration because they dont have the neccesary relax to vibrate slow
      (sorry for mi grammar, i do not speak english)

    I had thyroid cancer and also had a four level fusion from c3-c7. I got the plate out a few months ago as it was in the way of neck muscles. But yeah I sing some BASS. If you are singing in a room try to get in the middle of the room or where your bass notes have space to open up. Bass notes are wide and need a lot of room or else they wont work. I am talking 25 feet on both sides of you and 50 feet in front.

    • @chrisw9121
      @chrisw9121 7 лет назад

      I also play Didgeridoo and it can dramatically alter the bass sound if you don't give it enough room. The drone just won't work without the room.

    Hey Matt I have a question and you know I'm not teen years old and I've always felt that you know there was a calling on me and you know I didn't really know what it was yet and there are two things that I really enjoy doing and one of them is playing drums and singing bass but I don't know which one it is the right one so you know I'm able to hit a pretty low range but I don't know if that's what God wants me to do what should I do to find out

    • @chrisw9121
      @chrisw9121 7 лет назад

      Yeah are you using a mic? I found most mics to sound way too airy with my bass voice. I now use a Red Howler harp mic and it works perfectly at picking up the bass without all that "air" sound.
